Plot -

The Volcanic planet Char, with its sulfur clouds and Harsh Atmosphere, is the known home world of the dreaded alien race known as the Zerg. The Zerg are a collective intelligence of the species that they Infest. After Infesting the creature, their genetic blue print is stored and eventually altered to serve what ever purpose the Overmind, now Sarah Kerrigan The Queen of Blades, desires. Fighting for their vary survival, The Terrans, now the Dominion of Man, are the ancestors of exiled prisoners and convicts from Earth, that crashed in the Koprulu sector and have started to thrive until the Zerg menace threatened to wipe them all out. Now the Terran Dominion is united under Emperor Arcturus Mengsk, and is trying to establish a new order of government. One of Art, Science, and Military.

The previous rebel, Jim Raynor, is seeking revenge against his former rebel leader Arcturus Mengsk (Arcturus overthrew the previous government) for the senseless sacrifice of his beloved Sarah Kerrigan. But what Jim doesn't know is that Kerrigan isn't dead and has become the leader of the Zerg Swarm. When Kerrigan was still human, she was a highly adept psychic assassin, for the former rebel leader Arcturus Mengsk, who was sent by the former rebel to set up Psi-emitters on the planet Tarsonis to bring the Zerg down on the Terran capital planet, annihilating any chance of the previous government to rebuild its self. Thus paving the way for Arcturus Mengsk to claim the title as Emperor, all because the previous government Nuked the planet of Korhal in order to stop them from rising up against the Terrans.

((Please wait a little for me to think of what to put for a Chapter 1))

Chapter One - Awakening

3927, Orbit above Char, Battlecruiser Queen Anne's Revenge

Captain Chris Ambrose stormed onto the Command Deck of the Battlecruiser Queen Anne's Revenge as he awaited nervously for a message from his commanding Officer General Sullivan Ballou, of the 501st Infantry. He and the General went way back to before the Zerg had appeared on the first Backwater world in the outer planets. When Chris was just a Private and Sullivan a Lieutenant, and they were helping map out the newly discovered planets in the Koprulu sector with a team of only a couple Marines. A red light started flashing several times on the overhead dashboard of one of the communication stations. Chris pressed the button hesitantly and was greeted with the somber face of General Ballou on the overhead screen.

"Chris" boomed the deep voice, "I assume you know why I've contacted you on such short notice?"

"Yes, so the withdrawal from Char is supposed to commence ASAP?" asked Chris.

"That's correct Chris. And I'm sorry that the first time I've seen you in...what was it, 7 years? That it would be on such grave circumstances"

"Yeah, It's nice to see you again old friend." Chris laughed and turned his head to see the grinning face of one of the Techs for the Battlecruiser. But quickly waved a dismissal to him for he wanted some privacy with Sullivan. After he Tech left, Chris turned his head back to the screen and and asked,

"So how are things going on the Atlas?"

Sullivan sighed. "Sadly Chris...they've moved me closer to home."

"What, like protecting the inner planets from any infestation?"

"More along the lines of piloting a pen across old deployment forms that our new 'Emperor' had failed to review."

Christ whistled then said, "Damn them! You know it's just because you are the only Officer who isn't jumping into Mengsk's lap, right?"

"Oh, really now? And I thought it was because of my age" laughed Sullivan.

Chris laughed back, "If only it was that simple..." Their was a loud boom and the sound of gun fire from Sullivan's end of the communique, then a bright flash of white, then the screen went blank. The signal had terminated from the other end. Chris shouted Sullivan's name at the screen several times then started yelling curses at the black screen, wondering what had happened to the old man.

"What happened?!" Chris shouted at the team of navel officers on the command deck.

"The Comm. was cut from their end sir, we cant do any thing about it but try and establish a link to another terminal on Tarsonis." Answered a Sandy-Blond haired young man name Karl Martino.

"And what's taking so long to do that?"

"This ships piece of crap Comm. systems aren't picking up their signal...We're completely isolated sir." Replied Karl once again.

"Is their any way to rectify it, Karl" asked Chris.

"I'm sorry sir. Either we get a new Comm. system, or...wait" replied Karl, "Hay Mike, can we channel the magnetosphere of Char to boost out signal and reach Tarsonis?"

"Well...um...if might work. But how do you plan on tapping into it?"

"The outer panels of the cruiser are magnetized right? We can just boost their power and attract the electrons into out equipment through the main generator" suggested Karl.

"But that could overload the generator then we are dead in space above the Zerg home world" exclaimed Mike, running his hand through his brown hair.

"But what other choices do we have" stated Chris, "and I don't like the fact of being stuck over the Zerg home world if we do try it."

Chris glanced over at the Navigations Officer and with a low wave of his hand forward, Chris signaled for the Nav. Officer to start moving the ship. It took a few minutes until the Nav. Officer brought the ship to a slow halt. The bridge crew's spirits were lifted by the thought that they wee actually moving away from the volcanic cess pool that was Char. But they knew, that they were only moving a few kilometers away from the hazardous planet. After a couple of minutes had lapsed, Chris was deep in thought about their current situation and how, out of the many possible ways, that it could go wrong. Not wanting to disturb his commanding officer, the Navigations Officer, who Chris later found out was named Steve, interrupted his deep train of thought. After staring out into the blackness of space for a few more moments, Chris whispered for the bridge crew to start the preparations for taping into the Magnetosphere, and then went back to thinking about Sullivan and the times they had together.

Not bad, except your chapters should be longer.

Not bad, except your chapters should be longer. This is still the first chapter...I only wrote the Chapter number once so I assumed that people would automatically figure out that it was still Chapter 1.

Chapter 2 - Old Memories

3920, Marine class of 3920 graduation, Planet Jonu

Their was a sharp pain in Chris's Ribs. Patrick had kneed him. Chris sat straight up gasping for air. After catching his breath, Chris turned and tried to punch Patrick in the kidney but Patrick had drank three cups of the real coffee, that they allowed us for graduation, and easily avoided the blow. Chris was never good with time. While Pat was still staggering from evading the punch, Chris lunged from his bunk and put Pat in a headlock. After a couple seconds in the headlock, the door slid open to reveal the face of Staff Sergent Sullivan Ballou. He had a slight grin on his face when he saw the two Privates wrestling on the floor and that Chris was winning. One of the other Marines had yelled 'Officer on Deck!' and Chris and Pat stood perfectly straight, along with the rest of their graduating class. All at once the Class of Marines, every 25 of them, saluted at once. The Staff Sergeant walked in between the two neatly formed columns, correcting out of place limbs and adjusting how high their chins were. His work boots making a heavy stomp every time he stepped. He stopped in front of Chris.

He whispered, "So how does it feel to almost finally me a certified Marine?"

"If it means you're not commanding me...or making me trudge through that cess pool that was Hemustes IV, then I welcome it gladly" replied Chris. They both chuckled a little, and Sullivan continued with his inspection.
