Pedro And The Forest Thief
Introduction:
Pedro was a poor young man, 17 years of age. He and his father who recently just passed away, used to love to search for natural treasures in the old mine near their humble log cabin home. They did not collect these for wealth, they just collected them for the shear beauty the two saw in them. Before Pedro's father died of cancer he told Pedro that he wanted him to take all of the treasures his father previously owned and sell them to a teller. That way the family could have a better life. Pedro did not like the idea of getting rid of the fruits of he and his fathers labor. Also, the treasures were some of the only material possessions that Pedro had to remember his father by. Regardless of the sentimental value of the treasures Pedro had, he knew it was best for his family that he sells them.
Chapter 1:
"Mah-Chop!", shouted Machop boldly into Pedro's still sleeping ear.
Machop was Pedro's first and only Pokemon. Always very loyal, Machop helps out with most of the work around the house. Although he is rather small, his abnormally powerful arms have the strength to do tasks fit for a full grown man.
"Thanks for the wake up call, Machop." Said Pedro, sarcastically, and groggy from a lack of sleep.
Today was the day Pedro was traveling through the Viridian Forest to find out how much Pesos he could get for the treasures he was going to sell to the teller. To prepare for this journey, Pedro searched his messy room for all the necessary supplies. After some hard searching, Pedro managed to salvage one Potion, a Repel, and a Pokeball which he packed into his bag, already stuffed full of gems and other treasures.
"Pedro, come eat your breakfast before it gets cold!" called Pedro's mother, in an almost irritated tone of voice.
Pedro scurried down the old rickety stairs of the small log cabin. He threw himself into the seat and starred, dumbfounded at the delicious meal of ham and Torchic Eggs that lay before him. Almost pig like, he shoved bite after bite of food into his mouth before he even finished swallowing the previous bite. Normally, his mother would have disciplined him for this barbaric behavior, but today she knew it was important for him to finish every last bite of his meal, so he would have all the energy he needs for his trek through the Viridian Forest.
"Two minutes flat, Mom, a new breakfast eating record!", said Pedro with a grin.
Pedro's mother did not see the humor in this. She handed him his bag, wished him luck on his journey, and escorted him to the door. Once Pedro stepped outside, the uncovered golden sun warmed the top of Pedro's chocolate brown hair. Along the way, Pedro enjoyed and observed his surroundings. He noticed the way the wind would blow the trees, almost in a soothing rhythmic pattern. He noticed how if he listened closely, the Pokemon around him almost sounded through the forest like a dignified orchestra. He noticed the way the sun poked through the leaves of the trees, leaving patches of light, only to fade when the wind blows the leaves to a different location. Then he observed the sign. It read in crisp green paint: "Viridian Forest"
Pedro walked through the entrance with a sense of confidence. Nothing had gone wrong so far, and today was a great day to enjoy the natural surroundings of the forest; lush green trees almost creating a canopy that covers most of the sun, rich black soil, and many small flowers blossoming amongst the tree line of the forest. Suddenly, Pedro approached a fork in the road. The sign that once had letters etched into it stating which direction leads where, is now covered by numerous green shaded vines, and the letters are now worn down to a point of being illegible. Not knowing which way to go, Pedro just chose a random path and walked down the left path.
Pedro walked down the path nervously; his confidence that once warmed his spirit when he first entered the forest now faded into a mist of uncertainty. After a long, path of anxiety, Pedro came to a dead end. He started to hear a faint buzzing noise. The buzzing steadily grew louder, as if it coming closer to Pedro. Out of fear, Pedro called out his Machop.
"G-g-go, Ma-ma-m'-chop" said Pedro, nervously.
He steadied his shaking hand and tossed the shiny red Pokeball onto the black soil of the forest. A flash of sparkling blue light flowed from the open Pokeball. After the blue light cleared, there stood brave little Machop, observing it's new surroundings and lifting its small but powerful arms, ready to fight the approaching sound. Then the sound rose to an ear piercing buzz and out from the bushes emerged a swarm of irate Beedrills. These yellow little devils have large eyes and long wings that almost were transparent. At their bottoms, they wielded their most lethal offensive weapon; their sharp stingers.
Now very afraid, Juan Pedro began to try to fight of the Beedrills.
"M-m-m-machop, use K-k-karate c-c-chop...", Pedro ordered, shaking from fear.
Machop began chopping away at the vicious Beedrill while Pedro swung his backpack wildly at them. But nothing was working. The Beedrills kept coming and they were beginning to leave some serious damage on Pedro and Machop.
Then a brilliant idea came to Pedro; use the Repel that he put in his backpack earlier! Pedro reached into his bag with one hand, and swatted at the ravenous Beedrill with the other. Like a knight would wield a sword, Pedro whipped the Repel out of his bag and began spraying it wildly at the attacking Beedrill. All of the Beedrill reacted as if they were being attacked and flew away quickly from Pedro and Machop.
"See yah', wouldn't want to bee yah!" yelled Pedro. He wanted to have the last laugh on those menacing Beedrill.
"Alright Machop, now that that's over with you can come back in your Pokeball" said Pedro.
Blue light flashed once again and Machop was sucked back into the shiny red Pokeball.
Pedro continued backwards to the fork in the road. Realizing that going left was the wrong choice, Pedro now with more confidence began walking down the path to the right. Pedro was walking the path without problems until he started to hear a distinct rustling coming from the bush. Pedro cautiously approached it only to have a green blue dash out of the bushes, stealing Pedro's backpack right from his shoulders.
Hey, get back here with my bag, whoever you are!", Pedro yelled furiously.
Pedro began stomping around the forest, in search of the green thief that stole his backpack. After about an hour with no success in finding the thief Pedro decided to settle down and eat some lunch. Right as Pedro took the trail mix bar out of his pocket he heard the same rustling in the bushes that he heard when the thief took his bag. Readying for the thief to dash out, Pedro stood wide armed, ready to grab the thief. Then it happened; the green blur darted out again and Pedro managed to grab it's hind leg with the tip of his fingers. The green thief slowed down and crashed to the ground, allowing Pedro to see it's true identity. It was a wild Treecko! Treecko was a small green Pokemon, similar looking to a Gecko. It has powerful hind legs, allowing it to dart at high speeds, and it walks in an upright position and has small claws fit for climbing trees.
Realizing he must battle the Treecko to get his backpack back Pedro sent out Machop.
" Go, Machop! Trip the Treecko when he tries to get away with your Low Kick!", ordered Pedro.
The shiny red Pokeball landed on the ground, sending blue light and silvery sparks flying from the now opened Pokeball. Machop emerged and he let out a hearty cry, showing he was ready for battle as he pounded on his muscular chest with his powerful little arms. Treecko darted out from Pedro's hands after he released him then Machop attacked with a Low Kick, as planned. The Treecko flew too the ground at high speed but then sprang back up, now looking furious. Treecko used Bullet Speed, shooting powerful little seeds at speeds almost as fast as it's quick attack at Machop.
Before Pedro could tell Machop to dodge, the fast little seeds pounded down on Machop's body. Machop took serious damage but got back to it's feet, ready to fight. Treecko began to charge at Machop with Quick Attack.
" Machop, use Seismic Toss, fast!" yelled Pedro.
Treecko darted at Machop with Quick Attack. Machop then dodged left of Treeckos attack, then grabbed Treecko and began swinging him into a Seismic Toss! With the momentum of Treecko's Quick Attack, and the power of Machop's arms, Treecko was sent flying into a tree. Pedro was expecting it to be knocked out after hitting the tree, but, instead it pushed off the tree with its powerful hind legs and sprung with all its power at Machop. Machop flew back, taking major damage. Machomp struggled to get up, but it's spirit was strong and it kept on fighting. Treecko began to climb the tree now, shooting Bullet Seeds from above at Machop.
" Machop, dodge the Bullet Seed's!", shouted Pedro.
Machop began to run and jump, effortlessly trying to dodge the Treeckos speedy attacks. Seed after seed pounded onto Machop. Machop endured the attacks though and charged at the tree with a Headbutt Attack. The force of the attack knocked Treecko out of the tree.
" Machop, use Seismic Toss on Treecko now", roared Pedro.
Machop hurled it's strong arms at Treecko. Treecko was too fast, and dodged out of the way then began to tilt it's head back, getting ready to fire off another Bullet Seed attack.
" Machop, run at Treecko and use Karate Chop!", commanded Pedro.
Machop went full speed towards Treecko, bent it's arm back, then swung forward with a final Karate Chop before Treecko could use Bullet Seed. Treecko slammed into the ground. The green thief tried once more to get back up, but it didn't have enough energy and it lay motionless on the ground. Pedro realized now was the time to throw a Pokeball. He excitedly ran to his backpack, pulled out a Pokeball, then threw it at the weakened Treecko. Blue light flashed once more, then Treecko was sucked into the Pokeball. The Pokeball wiggled once, twice...
