Naruto: Chasm of Secrets

~Intro Theme~ (“http://boomp3.com/m/d04b3b036066/simple-plan-me-against-the-world”)

We're not gonna be
Just apart of their game
We're not gonna be
Just the victims
They're taking our dreams
And they tear them apart
'til everyone's the same
I've got no place to go
I've got no where to run
They love to watch me fall
They think they know it all

I'm a nightmare, a disaster
That's what they always said
I'm a lost cause, not a hero
But I'll make it on my own
I've gotta prove them wrong
Me against the world
It's me against the world

We won't let them change
How we feel in our hearts
We're not gonna let them control us
We won't let them shove
All their thoughts in our heads
And we'll never be like them

I've got no place to go
I've got no where to run
They love to watch me fall
They think they know it all

I'm a nightmare, a disaster
That's what they always said
I'm a lost cause, not a hero
But I'll make it on my own
I'm gonna prove them wrong
It's me against the world
Me against the world

Now I'm sick of this waiting
So come on and take your shot
You can spit all your insults
But nothing you say is gonna change us
You can sit there and judge me
Say what you want to
We'll never let you in

I'm a nightmare, a disaster
That's what they always said
I'm a lost cause, not a hero
But I'll make it on my own
Me against the world

I'm a nightmare, a disaster
That's what they always said
I'm a lost cause, not a hero
But I'll make it on my own
I've got to prove them wrong
They'll never bring us down

We'll never fall in line
I'll make it on my own
Me against the world

Now that that’s over with, allow me to introduce the ACTUAL story. Beware, it will be mildly tuned down but that doesn’t mean that it won’t be violent, bloody, and do a bit of cussing.

-About COS-

COS was a Naruto Fanfic I wrote a while ago, it was a long and exciting write and read and I’m re-writing it to go on PE2K. Yup, the WHOLE story will be re-written and re-done, mainly because of how much I would have had to edit if I had simply used the old version, plus I can add different characters and improve the story. So, PM me for details. I’ve got a tracker program, so if you want that, PM me and you’ll get the occasional update PM plus some stuff that hasn’t started yet, new themes and such. My few on Watch can submit a character. One per person, please. I’m not changing it that much, so be prepared to not see many characters become major. Just say their details, past, heritage, personality, ECT.

-Plot-

After a twenty year absence, the Akatsuki has returned and a Chasm has opened somewhere in the desert that leads to the world or the Tailed Beasts. Somehow, the great Eared beasts have risen and been sealed like their brothers, the Tailed beasts.

Now with the Chuunin exams going on everyone is tense and no one knows what might become of it. Sanya, Anire, and Torei are all ready as any Genin, but Sanya feels different. She has finally realized there’s something wrong with her. Why everyone has been afraid of her all these lonely years where her only friends had been her cousins. She sees herself as a monster, and secretly fears herself inside.

Meanwhile, Anira struggles to fit in with the new Akatsuki as she always has, until one day the Akatsuki leader discovers her secret. She has the Sharingan. No one knows how it happened or why but she does and now the Akatsuki leader is trying to discover her past and she is under more stress than ever now that the whole Akatsuki has laid their expectations on her for some strange reason.

What will happen?

Prologue
-Sanya-

Sanya stood, paralyzed on the spot, staring at the floor beneath her feet. It just came too soon. She couldn’t believe it. The reason she had suffered all of the pain in her life, the reason everyone ran when she came near. The reason Anire had told her that she would always be feared.

“It’s true.” Said Torei, still standing on the lonely road through the Sand Village beneath the stars that shone so brightly in the night sky.

“No…” she said, looking up and stepping away slightly, fear gripping her.

“And why not?” Torei said, “You always have been, always will. No denying it, that’s the reason for ya, and it’s the truth.”

“But… You… Why didn’t I know this earlier?” she said, standing up to her older cousin.

“They didn’t want you to know that you remain a failure even when you’re feared. You’ve always been a lost cause.” He said, “Admit it, you’ve always been one.”

“No, Torei.” She said, looking up and brushing her blonde hair back behind her head, “I…I can’t believe you.”

“Then you must be stupid.” He said, staring into Sanya’s brown eyes, “I can tell you I didn’t expect much more.”

Sanya didn’t reply this time, and she wasn’t honestly listening to her oldest cousin as she stepped back a few paces, then ran.

Sanya felt that she didn’t exist anymore, like she was the wind, racing over the hills, blowing up the sand. It wasn’t a nice feeling, more like she was going somewhere that she didn’t want to go, but she was being forced to go and couldn’t stop.

When she finally reached her house, she rushed inside and out the back exit to where the exit to the village was, and sat down. It wasn’t fair, it was like she had never existed to her cousin. She had never been particularly close to him, but now he seemed further than ever from her heart as she sat beneath the stars, staring up to where she always did when she was alone. A single star. The only point of light in that vast sea of darkness that seemed to be shining as bright as the sun in the daytime, it was shining brighter than all of the other stars.

I wish I was that star. She thought, I wouldn’t be a failure.

But I am a failure. I…she looked up at the star again, But that star’s probably been there thousands of years…I don’t know…

Sorry it's so short.

~Ending Theme~ (“http://boomp3.com/m/787de94d3d63/superchick-stand-in-the-rain”)

She never slows down.
She doesn't know why but she knows that when she's all alone, feels like its all coming down
She won't turn around
The shadows are long and she fears if she cries that first tear, the tears will not stop raining down

So stand in the rain
Stand your ground
Stand up when it's all crashing down
You stand through the pain
You won't drown
And one day, what’s lost can be found
You stand in the rain

She won't make a sound
Alone in this fight with herself and the fears whispering if she stands she'll fall down
She wants to be found
The only way out is through everything she's running from wants to give up and lie down.

So stand in the rain
Stand your ground
Stand up when it's all crashing down
You stand through the pain
You won't drown
And one day, whats lost can be found
You stand in the rain

So stand in the rain
Stand your ground
Stand up when it's all crashing down
Stand through the pain
You won't drown
And one day, what’s lost can be found

So stand in the rain
Stand your ground
Stand up when it's all crashing down
You stand through the pain
You won't drown
And one day, what’s lost can be found
You stand in the rain

Chapter 1
~Introducing a Mission~

“So me and Anire have to go on missions with LEAF ninja? Weren’t we just at war with the Leaf village?” Sanya questioned, the Kazekage may be a person she trusted, but not one she particularly enjoyed.

“They’ve requested our assistance, and we owe it to them. You ought to know.” He said.

“Yeah, Sanya,” Anire said to her, “Lighten up, Uncle knows what he’s doing.”

“Now you’d better be on your way.” Gaara said, “Konoha is a a few days worth away, even by flight.”

“Fine.” Sanya grumbled, Torei had been out recently so a Jounin had to take them to the leaf village.

“Oi,” she heard the always rude voice appear with the creaking of a door, “C’mon munckins, we’re wasting daylight.”

Sanya followed the Sukiriu girl out the door as Anire playfully skipped behind her. Sitting outside was the bird that Anza traveled with. It was about seven times taller than she was.

“That’s a huge bird.” Said Anire, looking up at it.

“Get used to it.” The voice surprised Sanya as it seemingly came out of thin air, then she realized it was the voice of the bird, “You’ll have a good day or so to chat with me if I go fast enough.”

“C’mon, Munchkins, we’ve got to get there by tomorrow morning.” Said Anza, climing onto the back of the huge eagle.

“Why?” asked Anire, smoothing down his red hair and then attempting to clamber up the side of the gigantic animal. Anza reached down and pulled him up, then said, “Otherwise I won’t break our record, now C’mon.”

Sanya simply climbed up using the sand that always swirled at her feet, and sat down next to Anire.

“Do we go fast?” asked Anire.

“How else would we get to Konoha on time?” asked Anza.

The gigantic bird beat it’s wings, the dust on the ground flew up into clouds at the sheer force of the air rushing downward from the beating of the creature’s wings, and Anire turned green.

“What’s wrong with him?” asked Anza.

“Height sick.” Sanya replied.

“If he throws up on my feathers you’ll be cleaning it up.” Said the bird, turning it’s head up to Sanya and Anza.

The wind rushed past the three ninjas’ faces and blew back their hair as the churning sand beneath them swirled in the dust clouds of a sandstorm.

“I’m just glad I don’t have to walk through that.” Said Sanya.

“You should be glad we don’t have to. That’s a bad storm to be in out here, this is where the Chasm is.” Said Anza, turning her head downward. It seemed like she was trying to see the famous rift in the earth’s crust that had supposedly opened the door to the Látrui as the people around the area called the world that the Demon Bijuü came from. She knew a lot about them. She also knew the entire history of one of them that Kazekage-sama had told her.

Anire still looked rather green. “When are we going to be there?” he asked.

“Around when it gets dark.” The bird replied.

“But it’s morning.” Said Anire.

“That’s the point.” Said the bird.

“I’d trust Ziaru.” Said Anza, “He’s usually right. Take a nap now because there’ll be no time to when we get to Konoha and you’ll all be up late.”

Sanya didn’t feel tired, but she didn’t object and just grumbled a bit before she lay down on the bed of feathers that was the bird’s back. Anza was in front and Anire laid down behind her where he was sitting. The wind and the sand didn’t help her get to sleep, but she eventually calmed her mind down enough to get some sleep.

+++++++++++++++++

Sanya opened her eyes, first thinking that it must be a dream because the air was cold and the sky was dark. She could hear the ruffling of feathers and the snoring of her older cousin behind her. The moon wasn’t that high yet, but she must have been asleep for hours. The girl sitting in front of her turned her head around and said, “You’re finally awake. You’ve been asleep for hours.”
Sanya didn’t reply to the girl, but she crawled around and shook Anire. He didn’t stop snoring. This time, Sanya pulled his hair and shook him. “Wake up, An”

“Ow! Let go of my hair!” he said, swatting her hand away from his red hair and almost biting it.

“Watch it, An, my hand’s not anywhere near edible.” Sanya said to her cousin, letting go of his hair to pull her hand away from his teeth.

“We’re almost to the Leaf Village, better get ready to land.” Said Anza, pulling some feathers on Ziaru’s back to send him down to the earth where Sanya could just barely make out a few lights. It was getting darker by the second and it seemed as if it had taken hours to get to where they were.

“I’m Hungry!” Anire moaned, he always forgot to take something to eat.

There was only a slight impact as the giant bird made contact with the ground. All seemed quiet, even though the only people here were Anire, Sanya, and Anza.

“Alright, my work is done.” Said Anza, “I’m going back. I need a rest. A Leaf Jounin is going to pick you up and take you to the place where you’re staying.”

“Alright.” Said Sanya, quietly, flinching under the impact of the gigantic bird’s wing beat as it took off into the sky.

She didn’t have to wait very long after Anire was out of sight, as she saw someone in the dark who walked out to where they could still barely see him or her.

“Welcome here…You are the Sand Village Genins right?” said the person. It was a girl’s voice, but not one of the jounin she had seen. Not the girl in purple or the pink-haired one.

“The Hokage wants…to see you.” Said the jounin, motioning in the dark for them to follow and the two Genin obeyed.
