Can i evolve my mudkip?

I am choosing mudkip for this time and start her ev training already.
so,is it ok for me to eveole my mudkip before i get my pokedex?

Well if you want to you can. BUT if you want a good Swampert you'll have to train Mudkip up to lv42 without evolving it to teach it Hydro Pump.

People usually start EV training after they have completed the game...

Well if you want to you can. BUT if you want a good Swampert you'll have to train Mudkip up to lv42 without evolving it to teach it Hydro Pump.

Surf is even better with higher Accuracy and PP.
If it's something like Fire Blast, it's thinkable (At least with a high chance of Burn),but Hydro Pump....
Furthermore, Swampert is usuallt a Physical sweeper. Surf is there just for STAB.

You can but hydro pump may be a good thing to get, it all depends on what you want your swampert to be.


hydro pump is inaccurate but its beter than surf as swamperts special attack is low and it compinsates for this.

i think u should leave it a mudkip until u get a few badges first. then u can evolve it later. i think that would be the best thing.
