Pokemon Emerald Compatibility Help

Hi. I'm from the UK and me and my brother are importing Pokemon Emerald from the USA. Because the cartridge is region free, does this mean it will work with a PAL edition of Pokemon Box and Pokemon Colliseum? All of my Pokemon from previous games are on Box (my brother traded in R/S, FR/LG to get a DS :sad: ) so it would help a great deal if someone could help. Thanks :happy:
