"Time is a violent torrent;
no sooner is a thing brought to sight than it is swept by and another takes its place."

-Marcus Aurelius

Greats clans have risen. Great clans have fallen. While others stay to dominate the battling field. Many have been remembered, but we have our own different tale to tell, for this is...ARMADA.

Welcome to Armada. We are the soldiers of victory, the ones who endure, the fearless, the definition of win, and the top battlers of PE2K. Our top priority is to achieve victory and to give our opponent a heck of a fight. From past failures, we have learned not to re-do our mistakes, which has lead the soldiers to become fearless and strong. Achieving victory is the simplest thing an Armada member can do. With so many experienced battlers, the Armada Force is a clan to be reckoned with.

Fearful yet?

Meh, I don't really like that stallish set you have on Ludicolo. I'd go witha more sweeper oriented one, because that, for me works better. Also, I'd give Bronzong Earthquake/Rain Dance/Gyro Ball/Hypnosis, seeing as I don;'t like Restalk anything, and you need more than one mon with Rain Dance. D: Other than that, its fine. D:

EDIT: And Stone Edge>Brick Break on Kabutops. D:

Definition of Ranks

Admiral: The Admirals have all the power. No question asked. They are the leaders of the clan and can declare war against other clans, edit the clan thread/make reserves, and accept members into the clan. Leaders are represented by a red asterisk*.

Major: Majors are the most skilled battlers in the clan. They may even be stronger than the leaders themselves. They help around the clan, and should be very well respected. Majors are members who got a perfect overall score of five by the . They are represented by a green asterisk*.

Lieutenants: Lieutenants are the middle ranked members of the clan. They have more experience and skill in competitive pokemon battling than the soldiers. Lieutenants are members who have received an overall score of four by the Armada Ranking System (]Armada Ranking System[/url) . Lieutenants are represented by an orange asterisk*.

Soldiers: Soldiers are lucky people who made it into the clan. They are members who have achieved an overall score of three (the minimum overall score required to join Armada) by the They are represented by a blue asterisk*.

Grunts: Grunts are people in training who aren't officially in the clan and have achieved an overall score of two or lower by the Armada Ranking System (]Armada Ranking System[/url) . Since they are not officially in the clan, they do not count towards our member limit. Being a grunt is not a shame- it is pride to show that you have tried to join Armada. A grunt can challenge a member of higher rank to see if they can officially join the clan, but they must get an overall score of three or higher in order to get promoted.

[U]Try-Out Battler: A try-out battler is a member of Armada who tries out people that want to join Armada. They understand the Armada Ranking System very well.

[U]Breeder: A breeder is an Armada member who breeds pokemon with good IVs for the clan gift shop.

Graphic Artist: A graphic artist is someone who makes sexy banner/buttons for the clan and its members.

The Admiral, Major, Lieutenant, Soldier, and Grunt ranks are all determined by a player's battling skill. The ranks "Try-Out Battlers", "Breeder," and "Graphic Artist" are not determined by a player's battling skill, but rather by a person's ability to do something significant. Note that a member can have more than one rank or position.

Well, this is my rain dance team. I haven't built/started training this team; for I want to fill in the "holes" first. Please offer constructive criticism. You may also rate the nickname (which is the word after the "*") if you wish.

Jirachi@ Damp Rock****Deathwish
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 240 HP/ 76 Def/ 56 SpAtk/ 136 Spe
Bold(+Def, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Rain Dance
- Thunder
- Wish
I have the same idea, only with U-turn. Good since you don't have another SRer
Yes, I got this Jirachi "idea" from someone else here. Credit goes to him (EV spread goes to smogon).

I'm not quite sure about Jirachi's EV spread. I want Jirachi to be able to take at least 4 or 5 neutral hits, so I could be able to set up Stealth rock and rain dance (then wish away)while still maintaining enough Special Attack to OHKO a Gyarados, and other fragile leads. It'll be very helpful if you know a good EV spread for this.

Kingdra (M)@ Choice Specs****Sea Dragon
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 156 HP/ 252 SpAtk/ 100 Spe
Modest(+SpAtk, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Surf/Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
IMO, get the Choice Specs out for a Life Orb/ Expert Belt/ Wise Glasses. switching in turns count as one of the the turns the rain falls.
Awe, my special sweeper. I put some EVs into HP because I want this Kingdra to able to switch into hits, while still maintaining enough speed (under rain) to outspeed a ninjask . Draco Meteor will be my Kingdra's main attacking move, while HP[ELECTRIC] is for KOing other Gyarados abusing the rain.

Kabutops (M)@ Life Orb****Extinction
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 20 HP/252 Atk/ 96 Def/140 Spe
Adamant(+Atk, -SpAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Waterfall
- Brick Break
- X-Scissor
If you fear Blissey, keep BB. If not, SE.
My main physical sweeper. If I ever get the opportunity, I'll swords dance which will up my attack stat to a fearful 722. The extra HP and Def EVs are there so my Kabutops could take some light hits, and again, maintain enough speed (under rain) to outspeed a ninjask.

Gyarados (M)@ Leftovers****Anaconda
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 212 HP/ 16 Atk/ 176 Def/ 100 Spe
Adamant(+Atk, -SpAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Taunt/Ice fang
It seems to me that you have enough Dragon defense. At least you can pull of a switch/DD while a Spiker/Annoyer gets taunted
A late-game sweeper. Once all counters are out, I'll send in this beast to clean up the scraps. I'm thinking of replacing taunt with ice fang for more type coverage, but you don't know, taunt may come in handy (Ex: Taunting a wall).

Bronzong (M)@ Leftovers****Iron Beast
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/ 152 Atk/ 104 Def
Impish(+Def, -SpAtk)
- Gyro Ball
- Earthquake
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
Okay.
My physical wall. I love Bronzong because of his main resistances to common attacking types (Ice, Rock, Dragon, etc.) and the ground immunity. I believe I need more Defense EVs though. He will also benefeit from the rain, which will halve the damage from his fire weakness. Rest for the recovery move, and earthquake is for the Magnezones.

Ludicolo (M)@ Leftovers****LordofDanc
Trait: Rain Dish
EVs: 252 HP/252 SpDef/4 SpAtk
Calm(+SpDef, -Atk)
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Surf
- Toxic
Let's see how many tanks get through this.
Ludicolo is still a decent choice for a special wall. Leech Seed + Leftovers + Rain Dish (if rain dance is still active) will recover a lot of HP for Ludicolo at the end of the turn, and will substitute for recovering HP. Toxic is to status the opponent, and protect is to stall.

Well, that's my team. Please offer some good advice, movesets, EV spread, etc. but most of all constructive critism. Thanks in advance.

Good team. I plan on something like this. 4.5/5

Good team. I plan on something like this. 4.5/5

Thanks for the suggestions:happy:

Meh defensive team :P

King Kong
Slaking@ Choice Band
Trait: Truant
EVs: 240 HP/ 76 Def/ 56 SpAtk/ 136 Spe
Adamant(+Atk, -SpAtk)
- Return
- Earthquake
- Pursuit
- Fire Punch

An excellent lead. Smogon has overlooked that it makes a great lead, and revenge killer. It can take physical hits quite well and destroys many leads with that impressive attack stat.

Garchomp@ Yache Berry
Trait: Sand Veil
EVs: 16 HP/252 Atk/236 Speed
Jolly(+Speed, -SpAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Fire Fang

An excellent physical sweeper. Swords Dance is there to up Garchomp's high attack stat, while Dragon Claw and Earthquake are there as his dual STAB combination. Fire Fang is there to stop the flying/levitating steel types. If the opponent sends out a pokemon with an ice move to take Land Jaws out, his yache berry will activate.

Raikou@ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 64 HP/ 96 SpAtk/ 96 Sp.Def/ 252 Speed
Timid(+Speed, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Thunderbolt

Raikou is my special sweeper and Gyarados counter and could set up on weak special attackers such as Starmie. This thing has swept whole teams before.

Zache Bell
Bronzong@ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 20 HP/252 Atk/ 96 Def/140 Spe
Impish(+Def, -SpAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Hypnosis
- Earthquake
- Explosion

A wonderful wall with many vital resistances. Stealth is there for support, while hypnosis is there for obvious reasons. The reason why I chose Earthquake > Gyro Ball was because I could stop many powerful physical threats such as SDLucario, and to stop Magnezone from destroying him.

#1 FatLard
Blissey(F)@ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 212 HP/ 16 Atk/ 176 Def/ 100 Spe
Bold(+Def, -Atk)
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
- Thunerbolt
- Wish

The best special wall in the metagame, enough said.

Celebi (M)@ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/ 220 Def/36 Speed
Impish(+Def, -SpAtk)
- Leech Seed
- Substitute
- Calm Mine
- Grass Knot

A subseeder whose job is to stall while CMing for an attempt to sweep.

Absol: Bronzong.

Aerodactyl: Slaking?

Aggron: Celebi :P

Alakazam: Celebi can counter all except TrickZam. If it is a trickzam, switch out to Bronzong or Raikou to let
them take the trick. Then, switch out to Blissey to wear it down with S-Toss.

Ambipom: Bronzong :P

Arcanine: Garchomp can threaten to KO it with earthquake.

Armaldo: Bronzong can fire off e-quakes. Garchomp can switch in and threaten to KO it with his ground STAB

Articuno: Blissey could stall it with toxic.

Azelf: Blissey could wear it down then with S-Toss then proceed to OHKO it.

Azumarill: Bronzong can a hit and strike back with hypnosis. Garchomp or Slaking can switch in against him.

Bastiodon: Celebi can stall it out. Garchomp's earthquake is another possible counter.

Blastoise: Blissey can toxicate the ones without rest. The ones with rest can be countered by Celebi.

Blissey: I could let a pokemon (Bronzong) take the T-wave then switch to my Slaking, which will the KO it.

Breloom: Bring out a pokemon to take spore, then switch in to Celebi, who can set up on it.

Bronzong: Celebi can stall it out.

Camerupt: Blissey walls the special versions. Bronzong walls the physical versions.

Celebi: Slaking can counter it with Pursuit if it doesn't have substitute. For the ones with sub, I could break its
sub with my Raikou and then switch in to my Slaking to weaken or destroy it with pursuit/fire punch. If
it doesn't have CM, my Raikou could set up on it and KO it with HP[ICE]

Cresselia: Blissey could stall it out with toxic. For the restalking ones, my Raikou could easily set up on it.
Celebi may also be a possible counter.

Deoxys-S: Slaking could destroy the spiker set and weaken the cosmic wall and mixed attacker ones. I'll
have trouble countering the cosmic wall versions, however.

Electivire: Bronzong could shut down the physical ones while Slaking can take a hit from the mixed versions.

Flygon: Bronzong can use hypnosis on it while you switch to a counter such as Garchomp.

Gengar: Blissey could wear it down with T-Bolt

Gliscor: I could take a hit from earthquake with my Blissey and poison it. Bronzong could use hypnosis on it
while I bring out Raikou to set up on it.

Gyarados: Raikou. For the ones that could outspeed him, Celebi could outstall it.

Heatran: Blissey.

Heracross: Bronzong could take down the normal and sub-salac ones.

Hippowdon: Blissey could take a hit and toxicate it. Bronzong could use hynosis on it while I bring out Celebi
Raikou to set up on it.

Infernape: Bronzong takes care of physical versions. Garchomp could switch in and take a hit for the mixed

Jirachi: Garchomp could take out the ones without reflect while Slaking destroys the supporters.

Kingdra: Blissey could switch in on the mixed versions while stalling it down with toxic.

Lucario: SDLuke can be shut down by my Bronzong through hypnosis or earthquake. Celebi takes care of the
mixed versions. Blissey takes care of the special ones. Lucario can be very dangerous since it runs
so many sets, revenge killing may be the answer.

Machamp: Celebi can counter Machamp if it doesn't carry ice punch.

Mamoswine: Bronzong.

Manectric: Blissey.

Meganium: Blissey can wall it with toxic. Raikou could also set up on it.

Metagross: Bronzong.

Milotic: Let a pokemon take her status move and then bring out the SparkS!

Mr. Mime:

Porygon-Z: Blissey

Regigigas: Switch in Garchomp against this beast if it doesn't carry ice punch. Celebi can also counter the king
of the Regis.

Rhyperior: Bronzong can use hypnosis on this beast while you switch out to Celebi.

Salamence: Blissey walls the SpecsMence while Bronzong can use Hypnosis on the physical versions.

Scizor: Slaking can use fire punch on the steel bug. Garchomp is also another possible counter.

Shuckle: Slaking can fire off a super effective earthquake against this rocky turtle.

Skarmory: Raikou.

Snorlax: Slaking. Raikou can set up on it if it switches in against it.

Starmie: Blissey. Raikou can set up on it.

Suicune: Blissey can toxicate it then wear it down with S-Toss

Swampert: Celebi can kill it with grass knot.

Tauros: Bronzong, enough said.

Tentacruel: Bronzong can kill the SDer set. Raikou can switch in on special-defensive versions. Garchomp can
take down the squid if it does not ice beam.

Togekiss: Blissey can stall it out with toxic.

Tyranitar: Bronzong. Tyraniboah can be countered by first breaking its sub with Bronzong then switching in to

Ursaring: Bronzong :P

Vaporeon: Blissey can stall it out with toxic.

Weavile: Bronzong.

Wobbuffet: Revenge kill it, for it has no counters :P

Yanmega: Let Zong take the hypnosis and bring out Blissey to wear it down with T-bolt or S-Toss

Zapdos: Wear it down with Blissey by toxicating it and using S-Toss.

Ok One Big Problem here is if Jirachi Dies. This whole team is nothing more. Jirachi is the only one with Rain Dance. 10 turns may seem a lot but its not enough. So if a Gliscor is sent out and uses Taunt there goes the rain.

04-26-2008, 05:42 AM
it's a good team, but you need at least one or two more pokemon with rd for it to be effective, as for the special wall mantine would be best i think. not only does it have water absorb or swft swim for its abilities it also has amazing special def.

How the Armada Ranking System Works

Please read the following information very carefully

The Armada Ranking System is a very complex system. We're not those type of clans that "let people into the clan just because they do well in their match."

In Armada, the ranking system is designed to make sure our members exceed in the most important parts of the competitive battling, which is:

Team Structure
Predictability Skills

When being tried out, you'll be tested on a scale of 1-5 on each of the above subjects.

The Subjects

The subject "Team Structure" makes sure you have a well-balanced team. Six sweepers is definitely not okay, unless you're running an offensive team, which usually relies on resistances other than walls.

The subject "Predictability Skills" tests your skills on predicting.

The subject "Strategy" tests if your team has an decent center strategy.

Then, after your match, we add up your scores, and divide the sum it by three. This will be your overall score.

Results Format

After your try-out, we'll give you the results in this format:

Team Structure: [points (1-5)]
Predictability: [points (1-5]
Strategy: [points (1-5)]
Overall Score: [points 1-5]

Here's an example of the ranking system format:

Team Structure: 5
Predictability: 4
Strategy: 3
Overall Score: 4

As you can see in this example, the person who was tried-out got an overall score of 4, which will promote him to the Lieutenant rank.

Our minimum requirement to join the clan is an overall score of 3.

To learn more about our ranks, please read this.

Important Note about the Ranking System

I know this sounds strange, but I'm going to state it anways, for it is an important part of the Armada Ranking System.

Let's say you defeated me in a match, but you did not show the neccessary skills required to join Armada (I know this sounds strange, but it is possible to beat me without showing the superb skills required to join Armada).

In the Armada Ranking System, it's not if you win or lose that matters, it's all about your PERFORMANCE during the try-out battle.

Performance is the most important part during a try-out battle for Armada.
