Well, I was wondering if someone could help me with it. I can only read and say a few words, and if I want to live in Japan, I thought I better start learning now.
All I can write in Japanese is Louise-san, but I can read various words like, love, hate ect.

Why would you go to Japan at first place, it is so expensive =\

To Americans, it probably would be, but British exchange rates are different from American exchange rates (Plus, if she means to live there, that means she'll get a job or whatever and rent someplace or whatever).
Anyway... All I can really suggest is practice. I've been attempting to learn Japanese for a few months, and I do know quite a few words and have recently been improving in identifying letters (Not as in seeing Japanese hiragana and thinking "that looks like 'arigato'", more like "that's an 'a', there's a 'ri'--". Just continue trying to view sites and the hiragana will become more familiar.
As for learning in general, try learning books (I know that learning Japanese her in the UK is a little more difficult than in America).

I was hoping after Art college in Aberdeen city, to go to a Uni in Japan, since I heard they teach Anime/Manga type drawing. :D
I want to be an Anime Artist. I can just draw eyes and faces.
And I L-O-V-E to speak, and write in Japanese, and Japan has always been a favourite country of mine! China comming second (Its quite... well... Harder to learn for me..)
If I get into an Art Uni in Japan I will probably start an Animation... but start to show it in Japan first... then UK (!! We deserve Anime first!), then other countries. :D

Why don't you just attend some Japanese lessons?
Or buy casette-headphone learners?

oh...different from what I imagined!
I started learning Japanese when I was 8 yrs old.
Then after 6 lessons, I selftaught.
Sometimes online Japanese lessons do great.

Although nothing can compare to formal teaching (classes where you have an instructor showing you the right way) you can teach yourself Japanese. I've been working on it for years, and I'm only just scratching the surface. I had one semester of Japanese in college, and that skyrocketed my knowledge base, but now that I'm on my own, it's going slow again. The best way I've found to learn, though, is computer learning software. With those, you get to see pictures as well as the words, and for me, that makes it easier. Plus, they like to put things in the form of games and quizzes, which also makes things easier.
Anyway, you're probably going about this the wrong way. You should be asking what kinds of online tutorials would be best. Because you won't be able to find someone who'll be willing to teach you Japanese online, lol. Not unless they're already a very good friend with a lot of free time on their hands. ^_~
But I do have some advice for you, as far as living in Japan is concerned. You need to look at it very closely before you decide that's what you want to do. You're going to face a lot of hardships if you want to live and work in Japan. For one thing, the Japanese are a very proud, elitist nation. They don't like foreigners at all, and they like women in the workplace even less. You'll be facing two strikes against you right there. And the high concentration of people tends to contribute to serious crime problems too. It'll be dangerous if you're by yourself. There are a lot of predators, just waiting for someone like you, who might look like a tourist, or just a girl who seems unsure of herself, and can easily be taken advantage of. I'm not trying to scare you; I'm just letting you know that you have to be prepared for these things, and decide whether or not they'd be worth it to achieve your dream. ^_~
Whatever you do, good luck, and I hope it works out for you. If you have specific Japanese questions, you can feel free to PM me, but I won't be able to teach you the whole language, lol.
Study a piece of Japanese anime or movie with subtitles and a dictionary with you. ^^ It's more fun that way, so you'll learn faster.

Tamer Dragon, I have been trying to learn Japanese, but my computer is an evil peice of junk that was probably built in the early 1800's, so I am having just as much trouble as you. I'm trying to learn japanese, but all I know is Konnichiwa(good afternoon), Konban-wa(good evening), kawaii(cute), sanshain(sunshine), and chou chou(butterfly). But, a friend of mine is teaching me japanese, so maybe I could help to give you lessons. I would be learnign as well, then we could go to japan together! I would just need to fly from Las Vegas(where I live) to the UK, first.
basic Japanese for saddo's like Boltage:
Hello.
My name is gold and I am twelve years old.
I speak fluent gibberish and breathe occaisonally.
i live in england in a house called... house and I like it here
equals when it has been translated back to english from japanese, because the stupid compuer wont let me post japanese on this stupid forum is:
Today. My name is the gold, I 12 years am old. I speak fluent queer word, the occaisonally breathe. I... live in England of the house which is called the house like that here the here

and that's why I don't speak japanese very well.
