I'm thinkin about switching from vba 1.8.0 to 1.7.2...however..i don't want to lose my saved game... is there any way to switch without losing my saved emerald game?

1. NO TALKING ABOUT ROMS THERE ILLEGAL!
2. You'll have a saved file on your VBA File of Poke Emerald keep that.

Talking about ROMs is Illegal because ROMs themselves are illegal copies of copyrighted games. Of course, this is a question about an Emulator, and the Visual Boy Advance emulator uses no copyrighted files and thus it, as well as speaking about it, is pretty much legal.
Because of the legality of emulators, there's nothing wrong with the question, however I will lock before someone unsuspectingly asks about ROMs (No doubt, there'll be a few people who might post here asking where you got your Emerald ROM).
In short: ROMs are Illegal, however Emulators which use no copyrighted files (e.g. GBA) are legal; other emulators which use console Bios (e.g. PSX) are illegal due to the bios and other files needed to run being copyrighted.
