In case anybody cares besides me...
I was able to trade emerald with pokemon box after I beat the e4 and got the national dex from Birch.
It looks like emerald is working like a hybred of fr/lg and r/s, because it allows for the wireless adapter.
Whatever, box does work fine with emerald, but emerald acts like fr/lg with regard to box.

Doesn't work. Or I can't get it to work. Because emerald's trading system is hybridized with FR/LG's for wireless connections. I think box is confused.
I remember the only prerequiste with R/S was that you had to have the pokedex.
For FR/LG you need the national dex and the xfer machine hooked up.
In emerald I'm ready to fight the elite 4, have had the dex forever and have 200+ pokes of different kinds (I cable traded 50+ with my other games, booooring, gah).
Anyways, when I connect emerald to box, Brigitte knows my name, says "nice to see you back", left an egg for me in the "box" box. BUT I can't take any pokes out of box or put my pokes into it.
I'm waiting until I actually fight the e4 and then I should get the national version of the dex, right? I hope that makes it work.
Anybody know for sure?
