Melee>Brawl, and always will. I really doubt any discovery will make the game as fast paced as Melee was, and its just play a character with a projectile and camp or play MK and spam.

Yeeeah, I'm kinda getting sick of all the Brawl things too. >> Like how the Wii/Gamecube section is nothing but that. It's been months since it came out. It's not THAT great.

Brawl is overrated...
Melee was great and I loved it, but it just feels like nothing much was changed with Brawl with the exception of a few more levels and characters. I honestly haven't played it for a while either. If you've played Melee before, you'll feel like you've already played Brawl a hundred times over.
I'm not saying its bad, but I expected it to be so good I would probably go nuts over it. Never... really happened though...

In my opinion, Brawl is far superior to Melee, and is even one of the best games out right now. It certainly isn't the holy relic that some make it out to be though.

Despite my username, the above statement is a lie. The only things Brawl has over Melee are an actual story mode, Wi-fi(Fail Wi-fi), and some good characters. Final Smashes and stickers can ride the failboat. Plus, they got rid of wave-dashing, ruining many strategies. That's my $5 worth.

I have to play the "devil's advocate" here by saying that I actually do prefer Brawl over Melee BECAUSE all the speed enhancements are gone. What made it unenjoyable for many of the casual fanbase was in fact because of this. I, being weak technically, was really only able to play Jigglypuff in Melee becase all other characters on higher tiers were too technical for me to handle, and that included Peach. When Brawl came out with a much slower engine, it was highly welcomed specfically because of us who can't ever be technically superior to stand at least a fighting chance.
CG: Well, G&W isn't exactly the spammy type either...

^I agree with this. I'm just a casual player. I didn't even know what wave dashing was.
Plus, I like Brawls' roster 1,000,000,000,000 times more than Melee's.

Well, for one thing, why can't you use a period instead of trailing off with .....'s?
And second, all of them suck, but Brawl sucks the least. Melee is for tourneyfags who like to wavedash, and who play's the N64 anymore?
There is no such thing as a "Party" genre, just multiplayer games. And Brawl is a pretty fun multiplayer, perhaps the funnest on any Nintendo game in the last 5 years.
Stop trolling.

tourneyfags
"Tourneyfags" is a strong word, my friend. Use it with caution.
A lot of the things he says in his video are true, actually. Although, someone who has learned all the nuances of the game, as he puts it, will beat a button-masher 100% of the time.

I must say, Brawl was well worth the wait in my opinion ^.^
While with Melee I miss Mewtwo, that is the only character that I miss. I love the new characters (except G&W, never will like him...), and Final Smashes are an interesting add on. Besides, if you don't like them, just turn them off and play on a Melee stage to get that old feel back...
The custom stage builder could use some more parts, but is fun otherwise. All though, the computers are not too smart with some obstacles XD.
The SE was a very fun thing to play, far better than Melee's Adventure Mode. It actually had a plot, and despite no words being spoken, the point was loud and clear. Perhaps, in fact, words ruin a story...
Lastly, who doesn't want to get epic matchups, like Samus VS. Ganandorf, or Sonic VS. Mario?
Brawl takes its place along other great games, such as its predicessor Melee, but also takes a stand among epic games such as Halo and Sonic the Hedgehog 1.

You do know that G&W was in Melee?
One thing I do agree with him on is the Single Player campaign.
Also, Sonic is a giant furry ****** furfag.

Hey, unlike you, some of us are fans of Sonic (well, I'm more of a fan of Shadow, actually ^.^).
And I'm a girl! And yes, I do know G&W was in Melee. Didn't like him in there either.

I agree with you about the tourneyfags, because they RUIN EVERYTHING. However, NOT EVERY NONHUMAN THING IS FURRY. ONLY THE MOST STAUNCHLY MONGOLOID OF US BELIEVE SO.

Watch your language kids. D:
As for tournament players: I personally still like 'em. There's nothing better than to know what is optimum with characters. I don't think that tourney players affect the casual scene anyways, so I don't think they should matter to the casual players either. I really don't see how trying to understand a game all the way down to is mechanics "ruin everything".
I'm under the camp that liked G&W myself. I always thought his uniqueness always won me over.
The reason why the lot of people like Melee so much is due to glitches that weren't even suppose to be in the game. Thus, they were removed in the next installment. When comparing the two games, you'll ALWAYS get biased opinions on which one is better.
The reason all these "veterans" of Melee deem Brawl a bad game is because they spent all their time mastering and exploiting all these glitchs. So when they realized they couldn't do the same things, bam! The game isn't good, just because the game designers made the game back into what it's suppose to be.
I think Brawl is a nice clean game that can be picked up by anybody just to have fun with. Despite the fact a lot of the characters aren't available right away. It may not cater to some people, but it's meant to be enjoyed by the casual audience.
Besides, Brawl hasn't even been out as long has Melee has, so it really is impossible right now to even know how deep the game really is.

Wavedashing was left in the game purposely, and L-Cancel definitely wasn't a glitch, as it was in both 64 and Melee. In fact, L-canceling was put on the official Smash 64 website back in the day, so you can't claim that that wasn't intended by the designers.
Also, I agree with Kenny. Why would you hate competitive players so much when they have nothing to do with how casual players enjoy the game. I'm for letting people play Brawl/Melee how they want to.

I do love this game, a lot, but I don't treat it like a "holy relic" or whatver, people have there ways of viewing certain things, and I'm okay with that. There is some annyoing/bad stuff in this game(such as lag, and etc.) but a lot of good stuff (SONIX IN BRALL GUISE) also, its kind of stupid how people say spamming is cheap and annoying, its EASILY counterattacked and stuff, so if you say that go play a fox user. Tourneyfags are annoying too. I was playing a guy, he logged out or whatever from Brawl onto AIM and said "Unlike you, I'm a tourney ******, I ONLY PLAY ON FD" Serisouly, Tourney tards don't deserve bawl if all there gunna do is NO ITEMS! LAG ONLY! FINAL DESTINATION! I mean they're really good players, but its kind of annoying playing on FD FIVETEEN FREAKIN TIMES IN A DAMN ROW. srrsly guise stop FD

This is one of the strangest anecdotes I've ever read. Did he really say that word for word? There are a lot more neutrals than FD. And I have never seen someone on SBF who acts like that. <_<
If you're playing someone with whom you don't enjoy playing, then you're not forced to play with them.
More on-topic, the reviewer in that video game talked really quickly, didn't he?

Well its like Yathzee said "If you like the game, then there should be no doubt in your mind thats it's bad, plus this is only a matter of opinion. Unless you have some nagging insctint telling you the game sucks"
But , again Im so sick of hearing how great Brawl was and how tis the best game ever...I think Fall Out 3 is going to crush it majorly...
but if I rated Brawl
I'd give it a 3/5
average...

Fallout isn't even in the same genre as SSBB. If you have a twitch to compare, at least compare SSBB with a fighting game. There are multitudes of those around: Arcana Heart, SF4, SC4, Immaterial and Missing Power, Marvel vs Capcom, etc.

SSBB is in my opinion more thought out then SSBM. However although i like brawl more, people technically have begun obsessions with it and i too see it as slightly overated.
wow. there wasn't a stupid word in that sentence.
