Yeah this might not hit it off but I need something to do so I figured I'd start this up.

I'll ask one question a day unless the current question is left unanswered. If a question goes unanswered for three days, I'll post a new question but leave the unanswered one up too.

All questions will concern the books and occasionally I'll ask a movie question.

The point system goes like this:
Easy = 1 Point
Medium = 2 Points
Hard = 3 Points
Yeah, pretty simple, I know. Didn't intend on this to be fancy.

Alright, we'll start off easy so that even a person who doesn't read HP will probably get this. lol

Question 1: (Easy 1 Point)
Who is the Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? (First and last name.)

Phoenix004
03-05-2004, 04:16 PM
Proffesor Albus Dumbledore.

Alright this seems like fun! Harry Potter movies and books are so fun to read. I can't wait till they release the 3rd movie and 6th book.

Good Job. :P

Scoreboard

Yeah, me too PokeMasterFF. I'm currently dieing of anticipation.

Alright, since we have actual fans of HP, we can bring this up one level. Oh yeah and sorry, forgot to post one yesterday. ^_^;;

Question 2: Medium (2 Points)
In Book 4, what type of dragon did Victor Krum have to face in the first challenge of the Triwizard Tournament?

plasmaball3000
03-07-2004, 03:52 PM
A Chinese Fireball.

Shroomish
03-08-2004, 11:38 PM
Correct.

Scoreboard

plasmaball3000 2 Points

Phoenix004 1 Point

Ok, this one might not be that hard but alot of people forget details such as this so I'm making it worth 3 points. :P

Question 3: (Hard - 3 Points)
How is a Basilisk born?

plasmaball3000
03-09-2004, 12:27 AM
A Basilisk is born from a chicken's egg hatched beneath a toad.

Shroomish
03-09-2004, 03:08 PM
Right. :)

Alright, another small detailed one that few picked up...

Question 4: (Hard 3 Points)
How many staircases are in Hogwarts?

silverfrost
03-09-2004, 08:03 PM
I believe there are 142 staircases. ^^

Agent Orange
03-09-2004, 08:52 PM
How are we supposed to remenber that?!

Shroomish
03-10-2004, 02:22 AM
How are we supposed to remenber that?!lol. Well, true fans read the books over several times. After awhile, most details sink in. (Like that one. :P) It's in Book 1, BTW.

Yes, SF, 142 is correct.

Scoreboard

plasmaball3000 5 Points

Phoenix004 1 Point

silverfrost 3 Points

Also, I'm not sticking to the one Q a day thing anymore. You never know when one will pop up now. >:E

Question 5: (Medium 2 Points)
What is the incantation to conjure the Dark Mark in the sky?

plasmaball3000
03-10-2004, 11:22 AM
Morsmorsdre! (not sure if it's all one word on not  )

Phoenix004
03-10-2004, 05:41 PM
Morsemorde. I think that's the right spelling, but I haven't had the chance to check.

Shroomish
03-11-2004, 12:22 AM
Sorry guys, both are wrong. Very close, but wrong. I gotta have correct spelling on spells because.... Well, one letter out of place screws up the whole thing. Kind of like math. :P

silverfrost
03-11-2004, 12:32 AM
The correct spelling is "Morsmorde." ^^

Shroomish
03-11-2004, 11:39 PM
The correct spelling is "Morsmorde." ^^
lol, No it's not. :P VERY close, though. ^_^

From now on when I have a question like this, I'll make it multiple choice instead. The spells are kind of hard to spell. (Wonder if that's why they're called "Spells"?  )

Alright, I can see this isn't going anywhere. I'll just give the three that answered one point each, I guess. *Shrugs* Since all were close but none actually right. It's "Morsmordre" Very close. :P

Scoreboard
plasmaball3000 6 Points
silverfrost 4 Points
Phoenix004 2 Point

Alright, next question.

Medium (2 Points)
In Book 3, when the Defense Against the Dark Arts class takes on a boggart, what form does the creature take in front of Seamus?

plasmaball3000
03-12-2004, 12:43 AM

Right. =)

Scoreboard
plasmaball3000 8 Points

Sorry for the delay. I've been in bed sick for the past three days. -_- Stupid flu.. Wonder if you can catch it by using Floo Powder? :P

Ok, next question.

(Medium 2 Points)
What sort of charm is Rictusempra? (In other words, what's it do?)

plasmaball3000
03-15-2004, 12:19 AM

Medium (2 Points)
Where would you find a bezoar and what is it's use in Potion-Making?

Phoenix004

It is found in the stomach of a goat and is used as an antidote to many poisons.

LMAO, You people scare me... I'd never be able to get a question that specific...

Professor Snape would be proud.

Scoreboard
plasmaball3000 10 Points
silverfrost 4 Points
Phoenix004 4 Points
PokeMasterFlabface 2 Points

And Fair, that's an easy one. :P It's part of Snape's "famous" start-of-term speech in Book one. ^_^

Also, I'm changing the rules. No more easy/medium/hard questions. It's difficult to decide the difficulty level because a question that I think is hard could be easy to some or vise versa. So, from now on, each question is worth 2 Points no matter how hard or easy it is. :)

Next Question:
Speaking of Professor Snape, what was his nick name back in school? Well, according to James Potter and Sirius Black anyway...

Phoenix004
03-20-2004, 07:39 PM
Wasn't it Snively or something?

silverfrost
03-20-2004, 07:39 PM

Thunderbird
03-25-2004, 10:08 AM
i remember this one... You need to witness someone's death.

plasmaball3000
03-25-2004, 11:06 AM
Which brings up the question of why Harry wasn't able to see them after his parents died when he actually saw that happen, but he was able to after he "saw" Cedric die (he was face-down in the ground at the time). But, that's a whole different topic ^^.

Phoenix004
03-25-2004, 04:02 PM
Yeah, I thought that was odd...

Ruben
04-07-2004, 09:40 AM
Mmm... Well, he maybe lift his head up from the mud, and by the way, maybe you must know that it happened, because harry dosn't recall the moment, but he can recall the moment of cedric...

Can i also ask a question ? Or can only the thread maker ?

- Ruben

Thunderbird
04-07-2004, 11:51 AM
Only the thread maker can ask a question. if u want to ask questions too, make your own thread.

Ruben
04-07-2004, 01:00 PM
