Has anyone else read .hack or .hack: Legend of the Twilight?

For the stupidest reason, I only read Twilight. Couldn't find the original anywhere. The ending was a real cliffhanger. O.O

Anyways, my mom is forcing me to leave for now, so...yah. What about you?

.hack is pretty cool. I watched some of the .hack//SIGN anime before... I read the Legend of the Twilight manga, which I think you're talking about. The GU games look cool, but I don't feel like buying them. Oh, and I read those horribly translated English novels.

GU wasn't that good overall, though I do have all three. The one problem I have with the .hack series is that GU could have been simply 1 game and it would have still been perfectly justified. The trilogy feels more like 3 1/3 of games rather than each being a complete game themselves.

I've read legend of the twilight as well, and it was pretty good. None of the .hack series (manga/anime/game/novel) has an actual definite conclusion. They all feel open ended to some extent. Some just more than others.

haven't seen the manga... sign as ok, roots was a nice preset to GU...

still yet has to finish quarantine >_> immediately skipped to GU after T.ryoko & BlackRose sidequest in quarrantine :/

GU is over-rated, but definitely good nonetheless. though I did prefer the original series' storyline, each GU's characters have much more connection, unlike the original ones with random guys like Rachel, Nuke, etc...

trilogy is just awesome, though pretty lame ending...

Jet: I do hope you didn't mean the movie .hack//Trilogy (based on the GU trilogy), because that movie was somewhere in the ballpark of horrifically bad and downright unwatchable...The best part of that movie was the 3 minutes of parody they had in the end. That was actually entertaining.

since you're not a die-hard .hack fan I would understand.

yes its disappointing that there are several loop holes, yes sux bad other characters did not make appearances, yes there are only 3 fighting scenes in 1 and a half hour and it may seem a bit lacking, yes the ending was super lame... still, it's a nice attempt to try it.

awesome, meaning that they actually try and did a movie about it, and its a nice visualization on how Haseo and Atoli would be if they were a couple :P 6.5/10 for me.

Yes trilogy disappointed me a lot, but I wouldn't say its unwatchable :P

Isn't it supposed to be a goal for .hack to appeal to as many people as possible?

Even without that, it's the studio's duty to make the movie at least coherent. My friend was watching this with me, and I had to explain to her how one part connected to another, because the connections just don't exist. The movie itself is more like a collection of all of the more important scenes thrown together with no glue connecting each one. That's why it's horribly bad/unwatchable. It should not be a requirement that one should have played the 3 games just to understand the movie.

The thing is, I don't think they tried, and that's the problem.

play all the games. never watch that movie you guys are talking about. have .hack//sign and Legend of the Twilight compete dvd set. .hack//roots 1,2,3 and 6 dvds. have all the manga that out of it and the novles of it to. the .hack//gu has a better storyline then the first 4 games and is a lot more fun to paly.
