Are you prepared for all the shows you know & love to go away forever?

Seriously though, I just got my converters, and it's kinda weird...
The channels I get come in more clearly than I've ever seen them; but being digital they do that DVD skipping thing every now & then, and that's way more annoying than some slight static.
It's also odd that I get 3 different versions of NBC, and 2 Foxes, but no ABC at all.

Wow, I didn't know it was like that. I thought you got the same channels you have now locally, but only digital. I don't have a converter cause I have satellite and it's not really needed.

Well, I got converters and then my dad just bought satellite. So... yea.
The converters were cool though. Same deal, new channels, better picture.

I just learned a couple more things about the conversion...
Either on or before Febuary 17th a lot of networks will be switching the frequency band their using now. So, there's a chance these problems (joggy signal & missing channels) might clear up pretty soon.
And if they don't then you can use an antenna. You might even get your old antenna to do the trick, depending on the frequency bands involved.

There are only 1,005 days left before TV is forever banned in Canada as well.

Try Mexico.

Because people barely buy regular TV's anymore, and big companies want people to buy more LCD TV's and buy sattelite TV, to make more money. It's all about money.... that's all it's ever about.

If it's about something else, somebody please tell me.

...by means of banning analog.

Whats the point of this "digital switch" Magikarp anyway?

Basically, they can get a lot more information into a digital signal. So, television signals will take up fewer frequencies: freeing up spectral real estate for other technologies.

I could be wrong, but I'm not exactly expecting Dick Clark to count it down.
It'll probably be an Enzyte ad.

No freakin' wonder I'm gettin' like 25-30 spanish channels as opposed to about 20 in english.
Oh wait, it's only because I live in Dallas.
