This is a new team I recently built, which is supposed to set up for a late-game SubPetaya Empoleon sweep. It relies a lot on residual damage (via T-Spikes and SS). I've had mixed results, but that's mainly due to my shoddy (no pun intended) predicting skills. So, have at it.

Forretress @ Lefties
252 HP / 162 ATK / 96 DEF
Relaxed
Sturdy
- Explosion
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Gyro Ball

This is basically the standard Forretress. His main purpose is to set up Toxic Spikes. Once that happens, I can be safe Exploding on just about anything (with a bit of thought, of course), since I can always switch Rotom in on a Spinner and Toxic Spikes has the least to fear from being spun away anyway (since it needs to hit just once to activate). Plus, if I willingly get Forretress out of the way, I can bring T-tar in on the double switch.

Tyranitar @ Choice Band
252 HP / 252 ATK / 4 Speed
Adamant
Sand Stream
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge

Again, a pretty standard Pokemon. His first and foremost position, however, is to set up SS, for some more residual damage. Then he can be a powerhouse.

Rotom-C @ Leftovers
252 HP / 168 DEF / 88 Speed
Timid
Levitate
- Thunderbolt
- Leaf Storm
- Shadow Ball
- Will O Wisp

Cut Rotom fills the role of a Spin stopper quite nicely. It rapes both Starmie and Donphan, and there are a number of other Pokémon (notably Swampert) that don’t like getting blasted by any of its attacks anyway. WOW is for Pokémon who don’t get poisoned by TSpikes, such as Meta and Gliscor.

Empoleon @ Petaya Berry
12 HP / 252 Sp. ATK / 232 Speed / 12 Sp. DEF
Modest
Torrent
- Agility
- Ice Beam
- Substitute
- Surf

The meat and potatoes of my team. When Emp manages to set up correctly, he rapes EVERYTHING that isn’t faster than it after an Agility, except a few bulky Pokémon (waters and Snorlax, mostly). It’s very satisfying to have one Pokémon left with about 7% health while your opponent’s got four ‘mons almost at full health and destroy them. It really is.

Gliscor @ Leftovers
252 HP / 252 ATK / 4 Speed
Jolly
Sand Veil
- Knock Off
- Roost
- Aerial Ace
- Earthquake

Gliscor is there to kill Heracross, but Knock Off is also very helpful for taking out bulky Pokémon with Leftovers, and it’s generally a nice addition to the team.

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
4 ATK / 252 Sp. ATK / 252 Speed
Naďve
Flash Fire
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- HP Ice
- Explosion

Heatran is a special sweeper, but he is actually more used to lure out bulky waters and explode violently, opening up for an Emp sweep. Capiche?

IMHO you can just run HP Electric over Ice Beam on Empoleon and switch Scarftran out for Exploding LO Gengar. It can has kill Blissey. :D If you run Explosion/Giga Drain/Thunderbolt/HP Ice you can pretty much put holes in opposing walls. Swampert will be obliterated by Giga Dran AND you HEAAAAAL and BoltBeam kills other stuff. Explode on Blissey. :D

Grass Knot > HP Electric. Hits more super-effectively even if it gets a bit of a drop of power on Vapoeon, which shouldn't be too mcuh trouble anyway. And pack those sp.def EVs from Empoleon into HP, they'll be more of help there.

Azelf could fill that role a lot better, considering it has the same speed and a 5 (?) base special attack difference. Something like:

Azelf @ Life Orb
Navie nature
EVs: 252 sp.att / 252 spe / 6 att
- Explosion
- HP Grass/Ice/Ground/what you see fit
- Shadow Ball
- Flamethrower

It fills just about the same role as that Gengar Starki was talking about with a bit more of a BOOM. :P

And I advise you to add Stealth Rock over Rapid Spin on Forry as Stealth Rock is one of the best moves you can use considering it'll be doing 6.25% to every switch in at the least. And since you're just blowing up with Forry Rapid Spin doesn't really seem a need.

If Emp does get set up, Ice Beam will be more useful; it can take out things like Celebi and Mence. The point of two mons with explosion was to take out bulky waters. Cut Rotom also does a nice job of this. As for Gar, I think I like Jr's idea better.

Part of Heatran's role was to remove Mence from the picture, so I'll opt for HP Ice. I'll also try out SR on Forry.

I'm very skeptical of Forretress as a lead, but hey, it's not like he's easily taken down, provided you switch to the right Pokemon. But, on Forretress, keep the moveset as is, since Forretress is likely to survive for a while and thus will need to Rapid Spin entry hazards for Empoleon, because an omnipresent Stealth Rock can mess with the sweeping process.

I can understand that Heatran would be here to absorb Fire attacks, but mind you, a Rain Dance Sweeper Kingdra is one of the best Fire resists in the game, flaunting 226 Special Defense and a 4x fesistance to Fire. Moreover, Rain Dance would amplify the power of Empoleon's Surf in the end, turning the base power of Surf from 95 to 320.625 with Torrent and STAB accounted for along with the rain, and Empoleon will still have the Petaya boost beyond that to advocate the threshold of special sweeping. This isn't necessary, but mind you, Kingdra is an excellent special sweeper on his own, and hardly requires much set-up.

Well, I tried out both the Forry change and Azelf, and I won my first battle (I might even warstory it, I kind of liked it). Then again, one battle isn't much of a judge. Random notes include the fact that Azelf was a pretty potent sweeper, and I didn't get to set up Stealth Rock due to the circumstances of said battle. However, I am going to keep trying it with these two new changes. As for Kingdra, I would certainly keep that in mind if I ever wanted to switch from a Sandstorm to a Rain team (which is certainly possible if v1.2 doesn't work out as well as I hope).

A) There's no such thing as specs dugtrio, it has base 50 SpAtt and a terrible special movepool
B) That's not advice, that's an idiotic criticism. If you can find an actual problem, you should also include how to remedy said problem. I can go aroung spouting random complaints if I want, but this is of no benefit to anybodys team if they are not helped to counter the problem :|
