This is a new team I recently built, which is supposed to set up for a late-game SubPetaya Empoleon sweep. It relies a lot on residual damage (via T-Spikes and SS). I've had mixed results, but that's mainly due to my shoddy (no pun intended) predicting skills. So, have at it.

Forretress @ Lefties
252 HP / 162 ATK / 96 DEF
Relaxed
Sturdy
- Explosion
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Gyro Ball
This is basically the standard Forretress. His main purpose is to set up Toxic Spikes. Once that happens, I can be safe Exploding on just about anything (with a bit of thought, of course), since I can always switch Rotom in on a Spinner and Toxic Spikes has the least to fear from being spun away anyway (since it needs to hit just once to activate). Plus, if I willingly get Forretress out of the way, I can bring T-tar in on the double switch.
Tyranitar @ Choice Band
252 HP / 252 ATK / 4 Speed
Adamant
Sand Stream
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge
Again, a pretty standard Pokemon. His first and foremost position, however, is to set up SS, for some more residual damage. Then he can be a powerhouse.
Rotom-C @ Leftovers
252 HP / 168 DEF / 88 Speed
Timid
Levitate
- Thunderbolt
- Leaf Storm
- Shadow Ball
- Will O Wisp
Cut Rotom fills the role of a Spin stopper quite nicely. It rapes both Starmie and Donphan, and there are a number of other Pokémon (notably Swampert) that don’t like getting blasted by any of its attacks anyway. WOW is for Pokémon who don’t get poisoned by TSpikes, such as Meta and Gliscor.
Empoleon @ Petaya Berry
12 HP / 252 Sp. ATK / 232 Speed / 12 Sp. DEF
Modest
Torrent
- Agility
- Ice Beam
- Substitute
- Surf
The meat and potatoes of my team. When Emp manages to set up correctly, he rapes EVERYTHING that isn’t faster than it after an Agility, except a few bulky Pokémon (waters and Snorlax, mostly). It’s very satisfying to have one Pokémon left with about 7% health while your opponent’s got four ‘mons almost at full health and destroy them. It really is.
Gliscor @ Leftovers
252 HP / 252 ATK / 4 Speed
Jolly
Sand Veil
- Knock Off
- Roost
- Aerial Ace
- Earthquake
Gliscor is there to kill Heracross, but Knock Off is also very helpful for taking out bulky Pokémon with Leftovers, and it’s generally a nice addition to the team.
Heatran @ Choice Scarf
4 ATK / 252 Sp. ATK / 252 Speed
Naďve
Flash Fire
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- HP Ice
- Explosion
Heatran is a special sweeper, but he is actually more used to lure out bulky waters and explode violently, opening up for an Emp sweep. Capiche?
