So this is my first attempt at making an UU team, so criticize me all you want, I don't mind. Without further ado, here's my team, based on the Smogon tier list.

Manectric @ Life Orb
Hasty NAture: Static
252 Sp Atk, 220 Spd, 36 Atk
- Crunch
- Thunderbolt
- Overheat
- HP Grass
My lead and my mixed sweeper. 2HKOs Grumpig and Hypno with SR support.

Swellow @ Toxic Orb
Adamant Nature: Guts
252 Atk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
- Brave Bird
- Facade
- Quick Attack
- U-turn
Awesome physical sweeper for the UU environment. I didn't find a need for Jolly nature in this tier, so I used Adamant, unless someone can tell me why I should use Jolly. Standard set.

Hypno @ Leftovers
Calm Nature: Insomnia
252 HP, 56 Def, 200 SpD
- Seismic Toss
- Wish
- Protect
- Thunder Wave
My Special wall. Seismic Toss for 100 HP of damage. Wish + Protect for recovery, and Thunder Wave for support.

Steelix @ Leftovers
Relaxed Nature: Sturdy
252 HP, 120 Atk, 136 SpD
- Earthquake
- Gyro Ball
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
Physical Wall, Phazer and SR layer. Does its job extremely well.

Meganium @ Leftovers
Bold Nature: Overgrow
216 HP, 148 Def, 144 SpA
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Leech Seed
- Aromatherapy
Team Supporter, cures status (even though I have Swellow xD and forces switches with leech seed. Hits other grass types with HP Ice.

Hitmontop @ Life Orb
Adamant Nature: Technician
252 HP, 252 Atk, 4 Spd
- Fake Out
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
Technotop is just amazing in the UU environment. Best late game sweeper out there in the tier ( at least that I know of).

So basically I'm extremely new to this tier, hence why I wasn't able to write much about my pokemon. All criticism is appreciated, because..

I know squat about UU ^__^

Most sets are standard so no need for a full rate, just a few nitpicks:

Manectric will 2HKO hypno with SR support with 84 Attack EVs, not 36. Run 84Att/208SpAtt/216Spd

Good call on adamant on swellow. Max EVs/IVs will allow you to hit 349. In UU, this can only be outsped by base 110s with a + nature, the only two being jumpluff and froslass. Jumpluff doesnt pose a particular threat, but if you're worried about STAB super-effective ice beams then jolly may be of use.

I detest the use of protect in competetive play, a screen move is generally far more useful since it stops you taking more damage in the first place. Hypno is a very bulky pokemon, and can often sponge a hit while you wait for wish to kick in. You also have T-Wave which may stop attacks in the first place. However if you insist on keeping it, toxic may be of more use as your status option to stall for damage as well as recovery.

Techmontop is nice, but you're overdoing it slightly. Yes it gets a boost to all of those moves, but at the end of the day you have nothing with a higher base power than 60. Bullet Punch yields poor coverage, in its place you can have either a more reliable STAB in close combat or a more powerful priority move in sucker punch (Dark-fight hits everything in the game for at least neutral, so pairs well with mach punch). Altenratively either of these moves can go over pursuit if you want to be able to outpace bugs, psychics and ghosts.


Nasty Plot ninetales is not kind to this team. No fire resist means it can get you with flamethrower from the off, and with a NP in it will also 2HKO hypno, who is meant to be your special defence. Replacing maectric with a mixed arcanine (It's BL at the moment, but smogon are in the process of merging the BL and UU tier into just being one big UU tier) would help, capable of walling ninetales entirely (Unless it's a platinum variant that carries dark pulse over hypnosis), while staying similar to manectric in that it can use crunch for psychics and hit hard with overheat. If you aren't playing by smogon's tiers (Can't remember how this site works :P) or will be using this before the merge, any decent fire resist or flash-fire user would be a welcome addition to this team, with its replacing a poke of a similar role. That is of no use to the OP whatsoever. I could go round telling people how super-mega-awesome their pokes are but it won't help them win battles.

I think you should switch Swellow with Manetric because it knows U- Turn, so it can get out of there quickly and do some damage as well. Hope this helps!

Actually manectric is a better lead, since mixed sweepers can hit a larger array of things more effectively. If swellow cannot take something on, then it's probably safe to assume that U-turn won't do much anyway.
