Try making better lines. I heard there was a curved line tool on paint that you can use. Also, gradients aren't everything. sometimes shaded solid clors are better. One more recomendation: stay away from the spraycan tool. It's ugly.

Angelic Kitsune
06-23-2005, 11:54 PM
Really?I liked spray can.Plus I love those fading backgrounds n_n
I painted those entirley of them! They were my orginal shiny creations, which I made a long time ago, before I posted them. The solids did not seem a factor at the time of painting, and I quite enjoy the way they turned out without using solids. The fading paint all looks so nice,I had to use them!My lines are crooked, but can be fixed.I shall try harder next time, without spraycan or gradients.

I must say, those drawings are of average ability.

Try making the lines more precise. Add alittle shading and a nice backround. That'll spiff it up very nicely.

You can't get better if your always praised as a very good drawer, remember that.

FrozenChaos
07-01-2005, 12:41 AM
well i can do as good if i used the curve tool and all but she did that using just paintbrush probably i cant even do that good using just pincle or brush. so i still say its not the best thing in the world but it sure is damn good!
edit: i forgot about the fill tool! i bet she used that!

Angelic Kitsune
07-01-2005, 01:34 AM
Yep,it was all drawn by hand.Your right I used the paint can to color it in fast  The rest was all paint brush. No curve line tool,no gardients.
I couldn't think of a good background, and I NEVER shade things besides sprites.'Cause I SUCK at shading. And I personally thought I was actually doing good for first-time,computer free hand :ermm:
*Sigh*I hate when I get called down  But if fell like telling me I'm of "average ability"fell free to do so.Though I won't like you very much afterwards :eh:

I'm going to be the first critic...for one, the espeon looks like it's back paws are attached to its stomach, and it's front paws (which don't exist) don't even reach the ground. The umbreon is okay at best, but I didn't even see it when I first looked. It blends in with the background. the stars have no centers, meaning you haven't even learned to draw stars like this (http://artpad.art.com/?iiy9r8gzlfs). Finally, why in the world does the sun have an outline?

The only thing I truly like about this drawing is the grass.

.............................. :ermm: ...............................
Why don't you like anything I do? My,sprites,my recolors, and now,MY ART  I drew the stars like that because I thought it looked cool."You can't get better if your always being praised" You also can't get better when theres a certain someone who hates everyting you make! When nothing you do is good enough for them to finally say:Hey,guess what? I finally like something of yours.
I cannot not perfect your tastes, now can I? I wish that I could, but it seems it is just not possible. If I try harder, try to make it look better,TRY to take all critizism,it just does not work.I have almost crossed the line.I am about to crack :goofy: And that was quite insulting to say I haven't learned to draw stars like that. But,I say thanks to everyone who actually like my art.And the moon has an outline too.You just can't see it very well.See ya.

I have someone just like me on another forum...he always finds a way to comment on my art, and never likes what I do, and I can live with that. The reason I don't like any of your art is because, in my own opinion, I don't think it's good, and I would expect that. Good to me starts about right here (http://onomis.blog.uol.com.br/images/Arcanine_1.gif), so I understand why you'd be mad when you do work you think is good. And it is true, criticism does help you improve.

ShinyPkmnMaster, I like you a lot.

But listen to him. I agree with everything, everything he said.

The only way to improve is to listen to constructive criticism and learn from it. He never once insulted you or your talent, but rather pointed out parts in the drawing that were bad and needed to be improved on.

You have a long way to go before you're really good. And I don't mean it in a way to insult you, but to be honest.

There are people who will just say that anything looks great, bcause they just want to boost your esteem. Personally, if I do something that's terrible, and somebody tells me it's good, I won't like it.

I would love the kind of feedback he;'s giving you, so don't insult it or turn it down. Take what he's saying, listen to it, absorb it, and use it. He's not trying to discourage you, but help you improve.

He never said that he "hates everythign you make", but rather that he can always find a flaw to bring out, so that he can help you imrpove, because that's whats important.

Bettering yourself.

I have a Dell mouse on my mac. The problem is no MSPaint. Photoshop does not have the right-click function, but there is one solution. "Select color range" with a tolerance of 1 will erase these nasty lines just as easily. And yet another way Photoshop lives up to its full potential.

If you don't want to hear Constructive criticism, let me know now, and I won't post my response. If you do, I will edit it in. I just don't want to make you feel too bad.

EDIT: Okay. *cracks knuckles*

The spraycan dots, to start. If thry're going to be there, they should be random. Believe it or not, not many people know how to differentiate between dispersed and random. Notice how almost every spot is spaced evenly, one to the next, and are all the same size. change up the sizes, and make them closer to eachother in some places, and furter apart in others. Just close your eyes when you make the spots. The butterflies are okay, but are a little fat, and could use more detail. M main pet-peave with this drawing is the flowers. Most flowers aren't pointy like that, and these have no proportion whatsoever. They also have outlines, which, if you are going to make them, should be on everything, or it doesn't look right. Don't get me wrong. I know you still have a lot of work to do, but you are without a doubt improving. keep working hard.

I like the background. It works.

The mew, though, could change. It's basically too stark from the background. Just color in the black borders to be a darker pink or soemthing, and that would help tremendously. But still, it's more than that. Defense touched on the flower thing, so that's that.

You've gotten a lot better since I saw your first art in Artpad. I really like your Mew too. Pretty good for Paint or whatever it is that you use. I do have a suggestion for the sun though. It doesn't have to have a black outline. You could either make the outline the same color as the center when you make it or, if it's the same as Paint, you can just make the whole thing yellow with a circle tool without having to paint fill. ^_^

You said you want Photoshop too. You could get a trial version off the Adobe website. It really is an awesome program. Here's a link to the trial version. You need to get an account their to download it though.

http://www.adobe.com/products/tryadobe/download.jsp?ftpID=2725

Dang, the new version is huge! It's about 300 MBs when the other one was like 160 or something like that. O_o Might need DSL or something if you want to download it. ^_^

Cute! Yeah, that could be your best pokemon yet. ^_^

I have a suggestion for the sun since the other suggestion I gave you didn't work. Lol. If you can, make the outline of the circle thicker and then fill in the outline with either the sun's color or the sky's color. If that doesn't work then forget it and just do it however you want. Lol. ^_^

BTW, if you didn't notice the sun's on the wrong side of the shadows on the Amphoros. It looks like the sun's casting a shadow on it. Lol. But whatever, who cares. It's still really cute anyway. ^_^

If I can see millions of things wrong with it,he definitly can.
I wanna see what he thinks of it,seeing as my best rating from him still wasn't him being impressed :ermm:

Well, besides the background, you need shading. Just narrow out the face and lengthen the body, but it's not bad. I can't wait to see the background.

Okay,I have narrowed the face,made the body longer,and shaded it.And added a background!xD

I love your most recent drawings. The first few were a little ood, but the more recent ones are great!

Can you do an umbreon?

Matt

I like it. Let me point out one thing though, shading is not random. You light source (the sun) is behind and above the Moltres. This would mean that anything on the bottom is shaded, and highlights should be added close to the top.

Yeah,I messed up harsh on the shading...I not too good at shading, which is why most of my pictures don't have any. I hope to get better at it,though.
EDIT:
Here,~*Alex*~,though I have trouble with umbreon(see my "light&dark painting) I tried him anyways.I like my background, but not the umbreon

To Defense.2:I'm really sorry for freaking out on you awhile back,I just was really angry for some reason.I'm just glad you decided not to lash back at me...

Angelic Kitsune
07-11-2005, 07:14 PM
 Thats weird that you thought of Lunatone,'cause I kept trying that one too! It wasn't working though, and this was the best out of all of them:
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b126/Spinda00X/Lunatone.png
I know the background is repetitive, and the Lunatone is crooked, but it was the best I could do :dazed:

it looks like a banana

Angelic Kitsune
07-11-2005, 09:07 PM
I know,Lunatone is HARD to draw :ermm:
Oh,well.If its a banana,its a banana :hungry:
I wonder what D.2 will think of it...

Nice job. I see your really improving.

Maybe try to make the moon behind Umbreon a bit circular. The Lunatone isn't to bad. Lunatone's are kinda hard to draw...

Angelic Kitsune
07-12-2005, 01:38 AM
Yep,Lunatones are second hardest to draw next to Umbreons
I shall make the moon more circular and it will look good.
I promise

SPM made my Avatar, but i had no idea she drew from scratch! This is pretty good! I alweays have positive compliments though, considering i have little to no artistic ablity  But i suppose thats a good thing, it makes everyone happy  I just read through the whole thread, and i agree that youve improved since the first post. My favorite pic has to be the latios though :hungry: And with the umbreon Alex requested, the backround kicks!!!! Keep up the good wprk, and check out my Delcatty recolor in mixed graphics!

They all look good! I think that Swablus are fairly easy to draw... So maybe you should draw a Swablu.

EDIT: Misspelled Maybe. (I'm such a dunce.)

Angelic Kitsune
07-18-2005, 08:37 PM
No,you spelled it right.
Swablu~Swablu~
Okay,I'll try that one,too.=b
EDIT:
Bellosom's finished!

I misspelled the word "Maybe". I spelled it as "Maby" before i edited my post. The Bellossom picture is great! The only slight problem is the lack of shading on the area that's supposed to be shaded like the flowers on it's head and on the petal skirt near the back. Other than that, nice sun! I give it a 7.5/10! (I know I don't have to rate it)

Angelic Kitsune
07-19-2005, 08:00 AM
Yeah,I can't shade right.
I'm finished the Swablu:

omg! It actually turned out pretty good.Except the nest.XP
