Freeware time. I know some webcams come with software for it, but in some cases you have to go the extra mile and do a search:

aMSN (http://www.amsn-project.net/)

An open-source MSN client. I noticed just the other day that there is an option to take screenshots with your webcam (if you want to use one as your DP).

The other program I like:

MonkeyJam (http://www.giantscreamingrobotmonkeys.com/monkeyjam/)

You mainly use it for animation (stop-motion or otherwise), but you can use it for just taking random pictures with your webcam.

So you're problem isn't that you can't take pictures, it's that your apps can't find the webcam?

Have you gone to Lenovo's site and downloaded the latest drivers for your webcam?

Right Click "My Computer" > Manage > Device Manager

First check under "Imaging devices" and see if anything like "Lenovo Webcam" is in the list. Check if there's an "Unknown Devices" (devices with unknown drivers will have a yellow exclamation mark over them) category.

So I take it that Lenovo Webcam actually has drivers, then (i.e. Appears in the list without a yellow exclamation mark)? :P

So are you still unable to use your webcam on any app?
