The PEAGA (Pokémon Elite Association of Graphic Artists) Official Contest Thread
Approved by NeoPikachu

Welcome to the official contest thread of PEAGA. Please see and join our club if you like creating creative, graphic art. A link to the group can be found here: PEAGA (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2667800)

Here at PEAGA, we pride ourselves in creating quality, computer graphic art. We yearn to create only the best in computer art and we yearn to bring others to appreciate our hobby.

This is how it works:
1) Every two weeks, for the two week period, a contest will be held. This contest will be run by PEAGA (pē • gű).
2) This contest will consist of creating a piece of artwork on a computer relating to the theme of the contest.
3) Contest themes will include creativity in every way.
4) There will be a two week submission period, from where the judge(s) select the top half of entries as graded by the judge(s) (unless there are 5 or less entries in which case they will all be in the final round) to go to the final round. For the final round, a voting thread will be created in the art contests thread and voting will occur for one week, after which the results will be immortalized in the club thread.
5) Winners of first, second, and third place will receive a formal, customized “computer graphic” prize and recognition.

That’s pretty much it for the rules. And now the details.

Judges: CaisyGold, Angela, Hihi, pm me if you would like to be a judge. Anyone who had won a previous contest may judge upon my approval, and judging will be the mean of the added amount of each judge’s score for a candidate.

The Current Theme: Contestants will create a banner for PEAGA. It should include a creative logo, be at most, 200x600 pixels, but any smaller size is completely okay, and the banner should be slender, smooth, and have a Wigglytuff on it.

Current Entries: Kayla Ann; Anastasia-R, iKawaii

Previous Theme Voting Thread: none

Current Theme Deadline: March 8th, 11:59 p.m. EST.

Judging will occur shortly after the deadline, after which a voting thread will be posted. Thanks!

Thank you to all who enter! Have fun!

On a side note: how judging works. Each judge will grade each entry from 1 to 100, with 1 meaning poor art and 100 meaning perfect art. The mean of the judges scores will be added, and the top half will progress to finals, in which a vote will be put up for the people to see.

Thank you!

I love it, all I can say is that the transparency off the Wigglytuff makes it kinda seem unreal, I like the drop shadow off the text:), nice job on that, but you could have used more brighter kinds off red, rather then the red one you used in the background, it would have made the Wigglytuff blend more in.

iKawaii, I really like the background, the recolored Wigglytuff is pretty well done, but I think you should have stayed with the original Wigglytuff, seeing the new one matches rather badly with the background, the original one would have matched in there, but not perfectly, I love the eyes off the Wigglytuff, nice job on them, but the Wigglytuff seems a little blurry, the text in the box is okay, the box is a brilliant idea, it's original. The white border is a little too big.

Kayla Ann, one can barely see that your using Paint anymore, your a rather advanced paint artist and no one can take that away from you, your banner is better then some gimp banners I have seen.

The text, I think it's brilliant, with the best things about the banner is the text, good job.

The background matches in no way to the Wigglytuff, the edges off the Wigglytuff could have been better, maybe if you had used smudge they would have been better, and you could have worked better on the eye. but overall 32/100

Okay Wolf, I have seen you do better, I can barely see the picture, the text is unreadable, and excuse my language, the background is rather dull:ermm:, so I give you, 9/100

The style of your banner is very nice, and it really stands out. I love how you "lit" the banner up and gave it a glint of light. I love the shadowing. The white border around the Wigglytuff coupled with the shadowing really makes it stand out. I do agree with Angela--a brighter background red could've helped it pop--but overall, that is some of the best banner making I've seen.

The way you did the text is excellent--it really makes the idea come out. The wigglytuff is a little pixelized around the edges--that is the only thing I really noticed. I love the background a lot. You could've made the Wigglytuff slightly different colored to match it, but otherwise, it is a great banner. Good JoB!

The text is nice, like angela said. It is extremely well done for paint! You give a good contrast to it by flipping the Wigglytuff around. If I tried making a banner like that in paint, I would fail helplessly. If you have Photo Editor or any other graphics programs on your computer, you could smudge around the edges and between the two sides to help it blend in more. Your choice of a background is great and simple! Keep working! I like how you have the cross with the white. I would do it on all four sides instead of just one. But otherwise, great! It may not compare to the best photoshopping, but for paint, that is epic. That takes a lot of effort.

P.S. PEAGA is P-E-A-G-A. :P Good job though!

Um... Wigglytuff is playing hide and seek. Nice background.

Anyways, all of yours' will be posted for voting because there were less than five entries. (And they were all great... Mostly...)
