At last, I've finished the prize for my Artpad competition. The winner, Defense.2, requested a custom portrait of (one of) his favorite Pokemon, Magneton. I accepted, and produced this piece in Macromedia Flash. I hope you guys like it. :P I spent a lot of time on it, and I think it turned out quite well. Let me know what you think!

The original. Warning: Very large. :P (http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/976/finishedmagnet9ab.png)

Miniature version. (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y22/Shuko/finished_magnetb.png) The dimensions he originally requested were 200x200. As you saw, I kind of went past those... so I made a reduced size version to fit that restriction, lol.

Lol. It's far from perfect, but I'm pretty pleased with it. The whole 3-D thing was a lot of trial and error, tho. :P That's mainly what took me so long in the first place. I had to figure out some tricky ways of using Alpha to make shadows and highlights an' stuff. If nothing else, this project has taught me a lot about drawing in Flash. ^_~

And I hope he does like it. :D But if he doesn't, I've already told him that I'll do my best to make him happy. I want him to like his prize, lol. :P

What can I say? Awesome! Yeah...I'm pretty new to many programs, so could you fill me in about Micromedia Flash? =D

It does look better with the shading and the background. I must say, you are one of the only people I've seen that over-used gradients and managed to use it to their advantage. Gradients actually make this piece look better. I love it. Thank you SO much Shuko.

I saw this thread on PC.

This looks awesome. I'm amazed by those gradients, but more importantly, the shadows are what make the picture so good.
