View Full Version : Portraits, I want hard comments on them!

Lately I've been doing portraits of girls, drawn from parfume commercials (not traced), and edited a little with my personal touch. I think it's turned out pretty well... :)

http://bb.1asphost.com/Evanna/EyesClosed2.jpg (I made this one up)
http://bb.1asphost.com/Evanna/Krullewietje2.jpg (I posted this one in Share a drawing too .. but heck, here's it again. I've seriously only made 2 professional potraits of people before these ones..)

Now, I want hard comments! Mention every thing that I could improve, thank you :) I still want to keep getting better .. That's why I want the comments.

I'd say those are good, but I can't see them without scrolling. can you shrink them a little?

Those are very impressive (I don't know how old you are though). I love the eyes. I stink at portraits. The only thing I see that I think you could improve is the hair on the third one (Eyes Closed). I know you made it up and that's hard to do, so it's really good.

Oh yea sorry, mozilla shrinks them from itself .. I'll shrink them as soon as I can. (I need atleast a half an hour for it with this slow computer >_>)
Edit: Done ^_^

I kind of used a weird style of hair in the third one, I was going for mange style .. Didn't actually work. And indeed I should have thought of that, manga on a portrait is no go .. Thanks SkyGirl :)
Oh and I'm turning 16 in November

Those are amazing. The only thing I don't like is that on the first one, the eyes are WAY off.

Those are pretty good! But there are some minor things you could improve on.
In the first one, like D.2 said, her right eye looks bigger than the left O.o (litterally). The lips are a lot better than the lips I draw (or try to draw >.<) but the bottom lip almost looks chapped to me. Maybe make the "lines" (don't know the real word >.>) more subtle. Maybe it's just the angle, but her jaw line looks assymetrical. Her right side looks more "defined". Your shading's pretty good, and her eyebrows are the coolest, but her hair sometimes bends at strange angles.

The Second: I really like the shoulder! The nose could use some work, and the mouth looks, I dunno... like it's from a different picture, if that makes sense. Other than that, I quite like this one.

The third: I actually like the close eyes. The hair looks almost two-dimensional, but authentically manga-y.

The fourth looks like a prom queen >.>" Her face looks just like a deer, but that's usually a good thing. And again, The hair's kinda wonky.

Keep up the good work!

those are good! you just have to work on using other materials. and they're a bit comic book style, in case that wasn't what you were looking for. did you have visuals or did you do them from your head?

The third ones hair is a bit strange and the second ones looks transparent 0.0; other than that use better paper ^_~
