Backstory:
The clash between Palkia and Dialga caused much more damage to the fabric of reality than simply polluting the Reverse World of Giratina. It also caused several tears in the fabric of reality beyond the dimensions. While these tears were temporary, they each resulted in a collision of worlds. Several people who were at the moment of thier mortal demise in the 'Real' world vanished from sight and would find themselves scattered around the world of pokemon, where new adventures and dangers were surfacing.

Many of the previous Teams in the Pokemon World were no longer in existance. Team Rocket was disbanded by Giovanni after he had found and rescued his son Silver. The leaders of Aqua and magma had gone insane from the residual power of the orbs that controlled Kyogre and Groudon. Maxie was murdered by Archie, and Archie had slipped into his demise when the enchanted armor that sustained him was destroyed at the Battle Frontier by trainers Emerald and Gold. Team galactic was dispersed when Cyrus was arrested after trainers Diamond, Pearl and Missy defeated him in the Reverse World.

However, one new Team has surfaced that is causing destruction across all of the regions: Team Omega. Led by billionaire Victor Omega, the Team seeks to destroy and remake the world in a different way than what Galactic had tried. They have created evil devices known as Pain balls. These balls are torture devices that force a pokemon into complete obedience and strips them of all morality, turning them evil. They work like Masterballs, able to catch any pokemon, even legendaries.

In response, a single trainer and current Guardian of Aura by the name of Robert Ra'sava, along with the help of the police force, ranger league, Professor Gary Oak and even Mewtwo himself, formed Team Alpha, a group dedicated to stopping Omega's plans and protecting the peace of the world. With the ingenuity of the ranger squad, Professor gary and the intellegence and power of Mewtwo, a new type of ranger Stylus was created to break the bond between pokemon and Pain ball, able to return a pokemon to normal and shatter the Pain ball that the pokemon is connected to.

As one of those pulled from death's door, you awaken to find yourself on one of the four regions with only those items you had with you before you were about to die. Some friendly wild pokemon have found you (or vice versa) and will be your partners. However, you will need to meet with the professors of the corresponding region to get your pokedex and pokeballs, along with a small sum of 2000 poke`(The pokemon world's currency) to get you started.

Your adventure starts now.

-=Robert, Baghdad, Iraq=-

"****, we're hit! Lay down some cover fire now! Medics, get the wounded into the 5-Ton for transport while I call in the nine-line!" a loud voice called out after a powerful explosion from an improvised explosive device (IED) took out the lead hummer and flipped over the second hummer of the convoy.

Soldiers and marines flodded out of thier trnsports, throwing down a hail of bullets at the insurgents to keep them pinned down. Robert, the leader of the medical team began pulling the injured out of the wrecked and burning vehicals and getting his men to carry them to the transport 5-Ton for extraction to a pick-up point.

However, none of them realized that on the other side of where the action was, a single terrorist stood off in the distance with a rocket propelled grenade, aimed and ready.

There was no time to react. By the time it was noticed, the grenade struck the ground in front of Robert. Robert could feel his body being tossed into the air like a ragdoll, the force powerful enough to knock him unconcious. From the moment of impact, Robert blacked out.

-=Robert, outside Oldale, Hoenn=-

Pain wracked through Robert's body. his eyes were closed, though the blinding light of the sun made sure the soldier's eyes stayed closed for a time. Yet, something didn't feel right. While he could feel shrapnel embedded in various places of his skin and blood running along his arms and legs, the ground beneath him was dratically different. He could feel soft, lush grass. There was no way he was still in the desert.

Turning his head away from the bright light of the sun, Robert opened his eyes to find that he was next to a forest! And what was more, he could see peeking from behind the trunk of a tree two heads. Despite the concussive blow, he could identify those heads. A Riolu and a Ralts? I'm either hallucinating, in a coma, or this is what lies beyond death. At least Yinepu has good taste." Robert jested lightly before he heard voices in the distance.

"This is where the phenomina was charted to have appeared!"
"Dad, look! There's a guy there. He looks like he's in bad shape!"
"He's all covered in blood! We need to get him to a hospital right away!"

Looking upwards, he saw three faces suddenly come in view. Norman, Max and Professor Birch form the cartoon series! This was becomming quite confusing. But before Robert could say anything, he blacked out once more, his vision blacked out.

When he came to once more, he saw that he was inside a hospital, IV's hooked up to his arms along with moniters reading his vitals closeby. Looking up, everything seemed normal. "Must've been my imagination. I'm probably at the hospital in Germany right now." Robert spoke to himself. However, he was in for a shock when he looked to see the Riolu and Ralts sitting next to him.

"So, you're finally awake." A voice spoke, drawing Robert's attentions to it. the voice was Professor Birch's.

"So, I'm not hallucinating." Robert muttered. teh professor shook his head a bit. "Don't know what you mean, but let's get down to business. My name is Professor Birch. I was investigating a series of distortions that suddenly appeared in this world. When I came up on one of the locations, that was where Max and Norman saw you. Could you tell me a bit about yourself and where you came from? You're obviously not from this world being dressed as you were, and your ID card doesn't match any records in this world."

Robert gave a light chuckle before takign in a breath. "My name is Robert Goldsmith, staff seargent of the 10th Combat Support Hospital. I was serving on a covoy through Iraq, a country that was being laid siege by terrorists known as Al Quida. My convoy fell under attack. I was busy moving the wounded to a truck for evacuation when I was hit with a grenade. By all rights I should be dead right now." he spoke before looking over to the Ralts and Riolu.

"Never thought I'd be inside a video game. Or a cartoon show." Robert commented. Birch was thrown for a loop by the comment.

"What do you mean by that?" the professor asked. Robert turned his head to look at Birch. "Well, in my world pokemon are not real. They are a video game, and there is a big cartoon series on it following the tales of Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town. But as far as being real, they simply don't exist in my world." Robert explained. "Are these two yours?" he asked agian, looking at the two pokemon at his bedside.

Birch shook his head. "No. These two are wild pokemon. They practically insisted on comming. I guess the pokemon sensed that you were different from the rest of us and that you were in need of help. But that is interesting. Perhaps your people can look into other worlds through dreams or some other means and simply believe that what they see is fictional." Birch replied before reaching into his pocket.

"According to the doctos, your injuries are healing up and nothing major was damaged. I suppose, given your circumstance, you were blessed by luck, to be pulled from a moment of certain death and end up here." Birch stood and smiled to the young man. "When you're fully recovered, you should come and see me at my lab. You may know this world through games and toons as you say, but I doubt everything is as it appears. And I'm sure you'd probably want to explore this new world you're in." before turning to leave, Birch took out two pokeballs and placed them on Robert's chest. "If these two want to join you, you'll need these."

Robert picked up the pokeballs and smiled to the professor. "Alright. I'll be seeing you then." Robert replied with a painful smile. With the professor gone, Robert turned his head to the two pokemon. "Well at least you two are quite cute." Robert jested lightly before falling asleep once more.

Trenecko, Train Station

Trenecko Inui bolted through the train station at speeds that would have put an Olympic runner to shame. "I cannot miss the train today, Grey's waiting!" She huffed to herself, then louder, "Excuse me! I need to get through!" she shouted as she approached the stairway leading down to the train area. The station was packed with tons of people like her, tired commuters who wanted to go home, and none of them listened to her. The thin teen grabbed her hat and she tried to run down the stairs, pushing past people and shouting sorry as she went. Grey was waiting, mom and dad were waiting--there was no way she'd let herself miss the train today!

She tripped on someone's foot, and there was no handrail to grab, it was out of her reach, she could only scream. Trenecko tumbled head over heels down the stairway, painfully hitting the cement steps and people who didn't help her, no one even tried. She watched the world go by as if it was on slow motion, until she came free of the mess. For one small second the world went back to normal , except that it was upside-down.

Pain exploded in the back of her head, and then the world went black. I'm sorry, Grey. Trenecko thoght, and then it ended...

Trenecko, Petalburg Woods, Hoenn

Ugh, my head is killing me! Trenecko Inui thought through the pounding. She had a killer headache, it hurt most in the back of her head...Where I smacked it from falling...wait, I survived that? She filled in, her brain freezing in shock. She figured that if she had died, something wouldn't be licking her face right now. Some idiot's dog, probably. Most likely one of those itty-bitty "Pairs Hilton" dogs--if you're gonna get a dog, people, get a real dog, not somethiing that fits in your purse of handbag--and control your pets! Annoyed that no one had pulled the animal off her yet, Trenecko opened her eyes and froze. What had been licking her hadn't been a dog, it looked more like a rust-colored fox with six tails, and smaller...it was faintly familiar, but from where?

"Vul?" The animal asked, seeing that the girl was awake, and Trenecko moaned, recognizing the animal now.

"You've got to be kidding me!" She moaned again, followed by "I really must have died then! I'm looking at a freaking pokemon!" she nearly laughed. The Vulpix gave her an incredulous look, as if to say 'Well excuse me!'.

Trenecko couldn't help but laugh, then wince from the pain in the back of her head. That seemed to break the ice between them, the Vulpix moved forward and licked her again, and she sighed and rubbed it's head. "Well, if I am dead, this is okay, at least you're cute and friendly." She said, enjoying the feel of the pokemon's fur. The vulpix leaned his head into Trenecko's hand and closed it's eyes.

"That's one new friend here." Trenecko said brightly, not attempting to do anything else at the moment.

“Could it be? A Pokemon?”

My eyes fluttered open. The only two things I was aware of were that my right arm was in pain, and that the light was green. I closed my eyes again and took stock of my inner bearings; I was sitting, on what felt like grass, leaning, against what felt like the rough bark of a tree, my right arm was throbbing like heck, but I was alive. I should have been dead. A bullet had been coming straight for my head. Then I remembered the light. It should have been dark, night, in an alley.

I opened my eyes again. This time I let the world come into focus. I was in the middle of a forest, sometime in the daytime. My arm throbbed again. I looked to see, it still had the bullet hole that was put there in the alleyway. Possibly still had the bullet in it, I couldn’t feel blood on the back of my arm, only on the front… perhaps it hit bone. Maybe that’s why it hurt so much. I thought I should stop the bleeding. But, with what? I was only wearing a mini-skirt, a head-band, a shirt and sandals. The bottom of my shirt seemed the cleanest. A bandage should be clean. I sat forward and folded my legs Indian-style, letting my right arm hang at my side as I set about ripping off a continuous strip of the fabric with my left hand. I’m right-handed, it took a while.

I broke the strip in two with my teeth and my left hand, folded half of it up into a square that I put over the hole in my arm like a patch, it hurt like a b*tch. I flinched, but didn’t pull the cloth away, that would only make it worse. It took effort to lift the arm and keep it there so the patch would stay in place. I took the other half of the cloth and wrapped it up tight as I could with my teeth and left hand. The throbbing got worse before it got better. I rested a short bit from the pain. Then I heard rustling in the near-by foliage. My eyes snapped open, was this some wild animal come to eat me or another human to my rescue? Or worse, another man to finish the job the ones in the alley had started.

Its head slowly emerged out of the brush, it was a dog-like animal, with long ears, brown fur, and what looked like a white mane. It looked familiar… like something I’d seen before but couldn’t remember where. Then, it spoke, “Ee-vee?”
The memory came back, I knew where I had seen that furry little head before.
I gasped under my breath, “No way.” It had been the favorite Pokemon of Jacques’s little sister. She would draw it all the time and even played a game and chose it as her “beginner” Pokemon. I had laughed when I had seen her playing, I had been slightly interested in the cute little television show when I had been in middle school. There was no way this animal was what I thought it was.

It just sat there, cocking its head as it looked at me waiting for a response. I wanted to see it closer, but I didn’t want to scare it off by moving towards it. I tried to raise my right arm, already forgetting it was hurt, until it throbbed in response to the muscle movement. I flinched again, but just let the arm rest again. When the pain had passed, I slowly extended my left hand palm-up and fingers together, like I was holding something, maybe a piece of bread, that wasn’t really there. I clucked at it and said gently, “Come on, little fellow, come on over, I won’t hurt you.” It had retreated slightly into the bush as I had lifted my hand, but my clucking and the promise of not being hurt seemed to lure the creature back out. It cautiously came nearer on all fours. I couldn’t see the end of its tail just yet, but it looked exactly like an Eevee so far.
“Ee-vee?” it asked again. So weird. I smiled at it, rubbed my fingers together a little, and in a soft voice continued to coax it out of the bush. “I promise, you’ll be fine, see, I have a bum arm, can’t do much with just one hand.”

I was always a sucker for cute animals, and this one was damn cute. It came fully out of the bush and I saw its fox-like tail. My eyes were mesmerized by that tail as the animal walked forward. It butted its head against the back of my hand before I had realized it was close enough to do so. Its fur was so soft. I turned my hand over and let it sniff my fingers before I began gently petting its head. The creature invaded my lap as it happily exclaimed, “Eevee!” It was fantasy become reality, it was impossible. I thought I was either dead like I first suspected, or dreaming.

Amy Mercy
-Route 101/Littleroot Outskirts ~ Hoenn-

The shot was fired...that much was definate...though there was no wound, no blood, no unmistakable scent of gunpowder in the air. That was another phenomenon...fresh air in the metropolis of Atlanta...? No...something was definately amiss.

Leaning her somewhat shaken, yet completely intact body against the strong trunk of a nearby tree, Amy cast a glance around the heavily wooded area before lifting a hand to swipe at her eyes, before pinching herself lightly on the arm in an attempt to discern whether or not this was a dream.

"Ouch! That smarts...guess it's not a dream...or I died...?" she paused, swallowing down a lump in her throat as she slid down the tree to sit on the ground - which she could not deny, if she had died she could get used to such tranquil surroundings.

"Can't lie...beats Atlanta..." she quietly mused, allowing her eyes to slip closed for a moment before several voices invaded her silence, coming from several feet away on the other side of the tree.

"Be quiet James, this is a sure-fire plan"
"But Jesse..."
"Relax, we're freelance now...no more dealings with The Boss...from now on, we're the leaders of Te-"
"Will you'se two keep it down?! Don't want the cops hearin' all about this!"

Upon the mention of police, Amy frowned somewhat, assuming the owners of these voices to be up to no good. Her inquisitive nature managed to overcome her common sense as she rose to her feet, and stepped out from behind the tree.

"S'cuse me...what are you th...."

As her gaze slipped down towards two crouching figures clad in white, wearing black boots and gloves - it was soon apprehended by a small feline-like creature, sporting a golden charm on it's forehead.
At the sound of the voice, the three rose to their feet rather quickly - the redheaded female clearing her throat before speaking.

"Ahem! Prepare for trouble, here in the woods

The second figure stood up, a...blue haired man? Amy frowned in contemplation for a moment, before he withdrew a beautiful red rose from his pocket, and stood back to back with the woman.
"Make it double, because you know that you should!
"To protect the world, once again, from devastation!
"Reuniting all peoples within our nation!"
"To re-denounce the evils of truth and love"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"Jesse!"
"James..."
"Team Rocket's rebuilding at the speed of light!"
"So join our cause, or prepare to fight!"

Then the cat, on it's two hind paws stood between them, and finalised:
"Meowth! That's right!"

Though there was then a loud pop, and from behind the redhead's back, whose name Amy had caught as "Jesse" emerged....something that resembled a large blue punching bag, with a grimaced expression on it's face(?)
"Waaaaaaabbuffet!"

"..." was Amy's only response, wearing a bemused, also confused expression across her features as she stood, watching across at the peculiar trio.

"I...um...dunno...could you guys maybe tell me where I am?" she posed, offering the woman she identified as Jesse an attempt at a casual smile.

"Why my dear..." she replied, taking a few steps away from James and...Meowth, and the strange blue creature "You are but a stone's throw away from Littleroot town" pausing, she turned towards James and gestured towards Amy with her gloved thumb. "Not the smartest we've ever encountered...but a potential recruit is a potential recruit!" turning back towards Amy, she approached and slung her arm around the stranger's shoulder.

"But enough about that, how would you like to join us?"
"Join you...?" replied Amy nervously, highly tempted to shrug the foreign arm away but choosing not to at risk of upsetting the older female.
"Yes my dear! We're a little known organisation known as Team Rocket! responded Jesse, gesturing towards James and Meowth. "I'm Jesse, the beautiful, intelligent, and incredible leader!"

James suddenly spoke up, an indignant edge to his somewhat suave voice "Leader? You! Don't scare the twe-...young lady away Jesse, I'm sure she would be much more at ease if we had a competent...well...somewhat, leader!"

"Waaaaba....waaaaabbuffet!" piped up the blue creature, earning it a glare from Jesse and Meowth, and a grin from James....along with a raised eyebrow from Amy.

Team Rocket? I dunno...to be honest, I don't know anything about where I am...or where Littleroot Town is..." she paused when Jesse turned an angry glare towards her - which gave her cause to shrink away from the once-friendly embrace "But...but...um...I"

"How dare you refuse a polite request from Team Rocket! We are highly successful, powerful, stylish-
"And we're working on a dental plan!" chimed James.
"Waaaabbuffet!" echoed the blue creature, lifting one arm into a gesture resembling a salute.

Backing up slightly, Amy raised her hands in a peaceful gesture. I'm flattered...really! But...how about I take a card, and give you a call?"

Jesse scowled, and unclipped a small spherical object from her belt, and tapped a button - causing it to grow to the size of a baseball. "Either we convince you to join peacefully, or we take you by force! Seviper, I choose you!"

Jessie took a step back, and hurled the small red and white ball towards Amy, it landed in the grass, and popped open with a brief flash - which materialised in the form of a giant snake with a jagged tail that rose up, and leered down towards the human.

"Seviiiiiiiiiiiper!" it hissed, the long forked tail quivering as Amy recoiled in horror.

"wha...what the hell...is th-that?! she panicked, falling onto her butt, and backpedalling with her hands until she reached the water's edge - realising she was cornered.

Jesse began to close the distance between them, arms folded smugly across her chest as James, Meowth, and the blue blob observed from behind. "Last chance..." she threatened, as the fearsome snake hissed, with poisonous venom dripping from it's crimson fangs.

Amy, once again, feared for her life as she was faced with a, admittedly strange, yet no less dangerous situation as she closed her eyes, and prayed.

Suddenly, there was a stirring in the water behind her, as something quickly leapt from the tranquil stream, standing between the snake, and Amy with it's body outstretched - water dripping from the hard surface.

"Kyaaaa!" - the sound echoed throughout the quiet area as it unleashed a small barrage of star shaped rays towards the dark snake, causing it to hiss and screech in what could be assumed as pain before shrinking away and hiding behind Jesse.

"James! Wobbuffet! Get in there!" howled Jesse, glaring down at the small star shaped creature from the lake, as the blue creature leapt forward to take the snake's place, as James stepped up beside Jesse, and tossed a ball exactly the same as Jesse had done into the fray.

"Carnivine! Use Vine Whip!" he cried, as a large fly-trap creature exited in the same way Jesse's snake had done, before sending one of it's numberous, leg-like vines towards the Star shape, which propelled itself into the air, and began a rapid spinning of it's body - much like a propeller to send itself towards the "Carnivine".

"Wobbuffet! Get that thing!" exclaimed Jesse, nudging the blue punchbag forward to take the flytrap's place. "Waaaaba!" it groaned, before Amy's defender sent another array of stars towards it.

"Use counter attack!" commanded Jesse, and in turn, the Wobbuffet pumped up it's balloon-like body, and began to exhude a strong red glow which captured the stars, and fired them directly back towards the starshape before Amy - knocking it onto it's back.

"Oh...no!" she cried out, crawling forward to place a hand on the creature's solid body as it's glowing core began to flash "Are you hurt?"

Smirking, Jesse released a high pitched laugh, soon followed by James as they stood back to back once again as the Wobbuffet stood proudly between them and Amy. "You have no choice missy, either join us, or we'll make you disappear from the face of Hoenn!"

Closing her eyes, Amy lifted the star, and rose to her feet - shakenly, but bravely.
"I...I'm not scared of you...you think you can bully me into doing what you want, you're wrong!" she forced out through gritted teeth as the snake, and Carnivine both rose up and flanked the two Team Rocket members.

Then, a rustling came from the bushes behind Jesse, James and Meowth, before a small canine emerged, and tore towards the three from behind, tackling them head on and propelling them into the air, and over into the forest - with a resounding scream from the three.

"Looks like Team Rocket's messing up again!"

Amy blinked, slowly in disbelief as the three disappeared into the distance, before stepping away from the water's edge, still holding the defeated star in her arms as she crouched down before her second savior.
"Oh my...thank you so very much..." she offered the small creature a smile, it's somewhat demonic appearance not seeming to phase her as she reached out a hand to lightly pat it atop the skull adorning it's head - which earned her a quiet, deceptively friendly growl in response.

"Grr...Rrrr" it rumbled, before cocking it's head towards the star with a concerned look in it's dark eyes.

"Hmm...do you know where we can go to help this...help it?" she frowned, instantly feeling ridiculous at expecting an answer from the creature before it nodded in understanding, and began bounding towards a trail that lead towards a small village. Amy stared for a long moment, before a bark from the canine awoke her from her daze. Clutching the star carefully, she began to follow hot on the creature's heels.

Ilex Forest, Johto
“The Night Battle”

The longer I sat there and held the creature I thought must be an Eevee, the longer I didn’t wake up. The light began to dim, the sun was setting. Normal things like that didn’t happen in dreams, and supposedly you couldn’t feel pain. So, probably not a dream, death was still an option, no one knew what happened to you when you died. If I had been able to see the sun I might have known where West and East were, North and South would be a mystery to me still, but at least I would have had two directions to choose from to follow. As it was, I was in the middle of a strange forest with a dog-like animal that might just have been bred to look like an Eevee, and it was getting dark. I had no way to make a shelter, though with how quiet the forest had been since the Eevee came, it seemed like I might not need one, unless it was going to rain… but not being able to see the sky, perhaps it wouldn’t matter too much. No sense in getting any more lost than I already was, at least not with night coming on, maybe someone would find where the men had dumped me, and would show me the reality of how this dog-animal could not possibly be an Eevee.

My stomach rumbled. I realized I was hungry. I gently hoisted the dog-animal out of my lap and put it back on the forest floor where it just watched as I stood. Seeing that the near-by bushes had berries on them, I got up, but paused before I walked over to them. I wanted to know which tree I had been sitting by, if only to have some reference point, so I took off my headband and flung it to the ground near the roots of the tree I had just left. Then I began picking the berries. I wasn’t sure they weren’t poison… there were poison berries in the Pokemon world… but that’s crazy thinking, this isn’t the Pokemon world, it can’t be. Even so, it’s better to be safe. I offered a berry to the Eevee, animals, no matter the species, didn’t eat things they knew to be poison. I hoped it lived around here. It cautiously sniffed the berry before giving it a small taste, apparently even wild animals knew to be cautious. It seemed to recognize the taste of the berry and proclaimed happily once more, “Ee-vee!” before snatching the treat out of my hand. I smiled and gave the berry a try. It wasn’t bad-tasting at least, of course that didn’t always mean it wasn’t poison, but if I were dead and this was some strange heaven it wouldn’t really matter anyway.

I picked all the berries I could see, and shared them with the small Eevee-like animal. When my hunger was mostly sated, I was thirsty, but there was no running water that I could hear near-by and now it was almost dark enough that I couldn’t see where I was going. I returned to the tree where I had left my headband as a marker while I could and put it back on. Then I decided to lay down with my head at the root of the tree. When I did, I lost track of where the Eevee-animal was. I didn’t get up again, if it wanted to, it could come back. No sense in losing sleep over things I couldn’t change. It felt later at night than it probably was, but I was tired, probably because of my arm, and the loss of blood. The wound had bled through the bandage, but it seemed like it had stopped spreading, so maybe it had stopped bleeding. I could only hope it was true. It still hurt like hell, which told me I probably wasn’t in heaven, so the only things left were hallucination and the Pokemon world, somehow hallucination still made more sense than the Pokemon world did.

I was starting to get cold when I heard rustling in the bushes again and then the soft sound of its voice, “Eevee?” I lifted my head towards the sound, but couldn’t really see it. “I’m here.” I said, as if it could understand my words. When its wet nose found my leg, it said again, “Eevee.”
I lifted my hand and clucked my tongue. It came and as I was on my side, it curled up by my stomach. I put my head back down and curled my knees up around the warmth of the sweet little creature that had become my only friend in a strange forest. Whether or not it actually was an Eevee at this point made no difference to me. It was a companion, and some company was better than none, especially on such a strange evening in a strange forest. Perhaps when I woke up I would be back where I thought I should be, though in the alley in the arms of those men wasn’t exactly a thrilling thought. I wiped the idea from my mind, maybe my whole day today was a dream and when I awoke this morning I would only remember that it was an odd dream. With that thought, sleep overtook me.

~~~
I awoke to the hooting of an owl. The Eevee creature was still sleeping against me. It was black as pitch and I couldn’t see a thing. I brought my left hand right up to my face and I could barely see its outline in the little moonlight that made its way through the trees. I wished I had a lighter, a candle, even a match, anything so I could see. Apparently the owl saw me though, it went silent for a second or two before I heard it again, this time, when it asked, “Hoot-hoo? Hoot-hoo? It was just to my left, apparently it had flown down to the ground just beyond the Eevee, even though I hadn’t heard a sound. I remembered that some owls had special feathers that made their flight soundless, apparently this was one of them. When I gave the owl no answer it called out again. “Hoot-hoo? HOOT-HOO!” Then I saw two red eyes beginning to glow.
That made me sit up fast, which woke my Eevee-animal friend.
“Eevee?” It sounded sleepy.
“HOOT HOO!” the owl called again. I was beginning to be able to see, even in this dark, at least the white of the Eevee animals’s collar of cream fur. The Eevee stood, or sat up, I couldn’t tell exactly which in the almost non-existent light.
“Eev ee eev Eev, Eevee.” It was almost as if the Eevee-creature were speaking to the small owl with the glowing eyes.
“Hoo hoot oot hoo hoo hoot!” It sounded like the owl-thing had responded. I wondered if I wasn’t simply going mad.
“Eevee eev Vee eev Eevee.” The unknowable conversation continued.
“Hoo HOOT!” With that the glowing eyes hopped forward once.
“Eev eevee eev. Eevee!” My little friend seemed to plead before giving a warning.
“HOOT HOOT!” My companion only growled in response. I saw the glowing eyes lift up and then swoop down towards the white tuft I could see that I knew was my new companion. I realized that a battle had begun.
I didn’t know what I could do. I just sat there and watched what little I could see, hearing what little there was to hear, which to start was very little indeed. I watched the white tuft of fur dodge the glowing eyes. The white tuft turned, and I saw the Eevee-animal’s eyes glint in what little light there was from the moon. I saw the eyes turn back to go the other way, again towards my little friend. Quickly I could no longer see its eyes. I heard scratching in the sand and even the white tuft of my friend’s fur became invisible to my eyes. The owl called out “Hoo Hoot!”
“Eeee-vee! My companion’s white tuft of fur became visible again, without the glint of its eyes I could tell it wasn’t facing me.
I heard two thumps and it sounded like the owl had hit a tree and then the ground. My friend seemed to be waiting.
“Eevee eev eevee.” I couldn’t tell at all what she had just vocalized.
“Hoo hoo hoo. Hoot!” It had almost sounded like the bird had laughed before replying. I saw its glowing eyes reappear, again not far from the ground.
“Ee Vee!” My friend’s white tuft raced toward the glowing eyes.
The eyes first leapt upward and then disappeared as the two collided, but as it happened, I saw the faint light of the moon glint off of something on the head of the owl with the glowing eyes. The white tuft of fur around my companion’s neck fell to the ground. The glowing red eyes hovered there only a second before it looked like the owl was about to dive on the Eevee.
I couldn’t just sit and watch any longer. The Eevee had given me hope and strength in a time of need, slept next to me to keep me warm, and then had even tried to fight off the owl with the glowing eyes. I wasn’t about to let it die. Even before I was done thinking about it, I had dashed across the small distance between me and the battle and had thrown myself over the Eevee, protecting it with my own body. This seemed to shock the owl at first because I did not feel it peck or rake my back with its beak or claws, but in the end it only seemed to anger the owl further. It didn’t take it long to decide to attack anyway. “Eevee, are you ok?” I asked even as the owl began to peck at my exposed back.
“Ee-vee?” it seemed to slightly recover.
“Good, I’m glad. I couldn’t let that owl hurt you, even if it’s hurting me now instead.”
“Eevee? Eev!” It seemed to get angry at that, and seemed to recover enough to try to stand. I only pulled back enough to let it do as it wished. She raced away from me faster than I could follow. The owl was still pecked at my back, I thought my companion had abandoned me and it was all I could do to protect my neck and spine with my forearms. But, a split second later the owl was gone. I heard a bone snap off to my right.
I saw only that the little white tuft of fur that told me the Eevee was right there. I had to get real close to realize that the owl’s body was beneath my triumphant friend. I worried briefly that it had killed the owl. I suppose the creature must have only been trying to protect its own territory. But, the puncture wounds on my lower back and forearms, as well as the renewed pain from my right arm made it so I didn’t mind for long either way. I said, “Come on, Eevee, let’s try and get some sleep.”
“Ee-vee.” It sounded as tired as I was.
I walked back to the tree I thought we had been sleeping against before and lay down on my left side again, among the roots, this time not only out of consideration for my arm, but for my back as well. I didn’t think any of the punctures were deep enough to kill me in my sleep by bleeding me out, but they hurt enough for me to not want to sleep on my back.
Eevee’s wet nose found my leg again, and again I clucked and held out my hand to invite it to come sleep nearer to me. Silently, Eevee made her way to the same spot she had before, just where she fit next to my stomach. I once more curled my legs around my new companion.
Just before I fell into sleep I whispered, “For being there, and giving me hope when I had none, I’m gonna call you Esperanza, I think Jaques would agree it was a good name for you, Esperanza.”
“Ee-vee.” She sighed almost happily, and curled against me even tighter than before.
-=Robert, Oldale, Hoenn=-
Robert slept soundly for almost fifteen hours. By the time he woke up, it was morning. Unknown to Robert, during his slumber he was opperated on in order to remove the embedded shrapnel and stich his wounds closed. As his eyes opened, he saw the two little pokemon sleeping on the bed, the Riolu cuddled agianst his right side and the Ralts agianst his left side. "So, this truly is all real." Robert muttered to himself. it was a sombre feeling really. he knew in his heart he would never see his mother, his best friends or his comrades ever agian. But on the plus side, he had two new friends, he was alive and there was a chance for a more peaceful life, and perhaps a better chance to find romance. Greed and power corruption wasn't supposed to be as common a thing in the pokemon world as it was in his world Robert thought. nations weren't at war with each other and people lived more in harmony with nature.
Robert placed his hands on the backs of the pokemons' heads, rubbing them softly. Both began to stir from thier sleep and looked up at the young soldier. Robert smiled gently to the two pokemon. They actually stayed with him, even though they were wild pokemon. Robert then looked at the two pokeballs on his chest that Professor Birch gave him the day before. "Would you two like to become my partners?" he asked as he took the two small pokeballs and pressed the buttons, expanding them to full size. he held each pokeball to the two pokemon.
Both looked at each other for a little bit before then giving one another a nod, as if they were having a secret conversation between each other. Both pokemon touched the pokeballs, allowing themselves to become swallowed up by the red light. There was no wobbling back and forth, and the red light on the button only flashed three times on each one before turning white once more to confirm the capture. Pressing the buttons agian, he released the two pokemon. "Thanks. We'll be great friends and we'll have alot of fun. And once I can figure out your genders, I'll give you both names." Robert spoke.
<Well I can tell you that easily silly. I'm a girl and my brother Riolu there is a boy.> spoke a voice inside Robert's mind. Though Robert was caught offguard by it, he knew it had to be the Ralts. Psychic pokemon were known for projecting thoughts into the minds of others.
"Alright then." Robert spoke before looking to the little Riolu. "You and your evolution look quite similar to the Deity Yinepu, though most call Him Anubis. So, I'll call you Yinepu." Robert then turned his head to look at the Ralts. "And as for you, I will call you Lilly, because it is the most beautiful female name I know of." Robert spoke before giving the two pokemon a nice big hug.
As Robert hugged the two pokemon, Norman walked in holding a tray filled with pancakes, a glass of milk, two bowls of pokemon food and two glasses of water. "Ah, you're awake. Are you feeling any better?" the gym leader asked as he set the tray on the table next to Robert's bed
Robert gave a smile to him and nodded his head to the man. "Much thanks. Not sure if I'm on any pain killers and I haven't tried to walk, so I can't evaluate my condition fully, but I'm not in pain. And these two seem to have taken a strong liking to me." Robert said as he rubbed both of his pokemon on the head.
Norman smiled and sat back in the seat near the bed. "That's good. I know this isn't your world, but do you have any plans on what you're going to do once you get out of the hospital?" Norman asked.
"Well, first I'm going to go and see Professor Birch, see what he wants. From that point, I'll do some exploring. I don't have any delusions of finding a way back to my world, and considering how swiftly it's decending into absoblute madness, I'm not sure I would go back even if I had the chance. So yeah, I'm going to explore the world and try to find my place in it. I mean, I've been given a second chance at life in a new world, a gift from the Goddess Herself as far as I'm concerned." Robert replied.
"Well I don't know anything about Goddesses. Different worlds, different religions, but I'm glad you at least have a plan of action to follow." Norman responded.
"I was a soldier. Not just that, it was my duty to lead my men and make sure they made it back alive to thier families. I have to be able to come up with plans and see things logically. On the field of battle, peoples' lives depend on split-second decisions." Robert explained.
Norman hmmed a bit. "Sounds like your world is a very violent world. I suppose something like this is truly a blessing for you." Norman spoke as he then stood. "Well, I need to return to Petalburg to run my gym. If you decide to try your hand at being a trainer, be sure to stop at my gym. I'd be glad to teach you a few things." Norman spoke before leaving the room. "Well, let's dig in and then we can see about going to the professor's as soon as I can walk normally." Robert spoke. With that, all three began to dig into thier breakfasts.
Tsubasa Hwoarang
Los Angeles, California
Hospital Room No.104
It was 7:30 A.M. in Los Angeles, California. The suns heat had almost no effect on the young man lying in a hospital bed however. This young man’s name was Tsubasa Hwoarang. The young boy was suffering from a disease and had already come to peace with himself. He knew that there was no treatment for his disease. Another thing about him was that he was pure hearted and never did anything he shouldn’t have. Well nothing real bad. He tried his best to listen to his mother but sometimes he’d do it anyway. One thing that was for sure was that this wasn’t some sexual transmitted disease. He wasn’t into that.
His mother was sitting beside the hospital bed in a chair. She seemed as if he was sleeping, but she woke up once she felt Tsubasa budge. “Honey… you’re awake?” she said with a slight smile. She was proud to see that her son could still breathe. You could see in Tsubasa’s eyes that he was going to die and you could see that he accepted it. His parents always told him that he’d go to a better place and he didn’t mind going. What he didn’t like was leaving his mother, little brother and baby sister behind.
“When am I going to die, mother?” He asked with an emotionless voice tone. His mother’s smile faded and turned into a frown. She hated talking about this. She hated thinking about this. Even though her son could accept it, she couldn’t. She sighed and looked away from her son as she started crying.
“The doctor said you only have thirty minutes left,” she replied. His mother stood up and walked towards the window and looked out. In another chair under the television hanging on the wall was his little brother and baby sister. They looked so peaceful. The more he thought about leaving them, the more he second guessed whether or not he really accepted death.
Tsubasa weakly began pulling the strings or plugs coming from the machines and stood up. He weakly began walking over to his little brother and sister. When he got to them, his mother couldn’t hear the machine make that annoying beeping noise. She didn’t hear anything. She whipped around and stared at the bed. When she didn’t see him in it, she began yelling; crying. “Tsubasa… no! You have to get back in bed!”
Tsubasa wrapped his arms around the two. They seemed to be sleeping peacefully, but tears were on their face. It wasn’t Tsubasa’s, it was their own. “Were they crying for me, mother?” He questioned her; his eyes closed… his life slowly fading. “Yes… all night.”
Suddenly, the doctors burst through the closed door. They looked directly at Tsubasa and grabbed him. They avoided hurting him and gently laid him back on the bed. Right at that moment, the nurse cut the television on and it was on channel 45, Cartoonetwork. Pokemon was on and it was just coming on actually. The last words Tsubasa heard before he fainted were, “Pikachu… Riolu.”
Several minutes later…
Tsubasa Hwoarang
Pallet Town, Kanto
Professor Oak's Pokemon Research Lab
A young man was lying in lush, green grass. The boy looked like Tsubasa, but an animated version. A very well drawn animated person at that. He wasn’t in the same patient clothing he was in when he was in the real world either. Tsubasa was in the Pokemon World. Tsubasa slowly opened his eyes and looked around.
“Where… where am I?” he asked aloud. He closed his eyes once again but slowly opened them right after that. Two figures were standing over him now. Looking down at the boy. They were Pikachu and Riolu. Tsubasa was startled and jumped up, “Woah!”
“Hey, are you alright son?” A man in a lab coat questioned; running up towards Tsubasa. Tsubasa turned around and recognized the face of the man immediately. It was none other than Professor Oak. Arguably his favorite region professor. Tsubasa didn’t reply, instead he looked at his hands and put them on his chest. His heart was beating normally and he felt fine.
Professor Oak assisted Tsubasa to his feet and helped dust him off. Before the professor could speak, Tsubasa went ahead to reply to his question. “Yeah… I feel… great!” He said as a large smile formed his lips. He was so excited that he was feeling good. He couldn’t help but jump up with joy and say it over and over again. What made Professor Oak smile was the fact that Riolu and Pikachu were jumping up and down as well.
“Are those your Pokemon?” Professor Oak asked Tsubasa. Tsubasa stopped jumping up and down and turned his attention from the professor to the two Pokemon. Riolu looked up at him and smiled while Pikachu climbed up to stand no Tsubasa’s left shoulder. After that, he looked back at the professor and nodded with a smile.
“So, it is safe to say that you’re a Pokemon Trainer then?” Professor Oak consistently asked questions and the only thing he got from Tsubasa was a nod. Honestly, Tsubasa didn’t know what was going on, but he felt like he was dreaming. If he was, this was a pretty real dream. A dream that he didn’t want to end. Not yet at least… “I see. Well, let me introduce myself, my name is…”
Before Professor Oak could inform Tsubasa of who he was, the new, young, confused trainer began to speak. “You’re Professor ‘Samuel’ Oak, one of the most renowned Pokémon Researchers. You started off your journey as a pseudo-Trainer and Watcher. You’ve collected Pokémon for battling but also sketching them. When you were about ten, you rescued an injured Celebi from a Hunter and accidentally traveled forward in time and met with Ash. You and him defended Celebi and eventually you got sent back in time and continued your life. After giving up being a Watcher, you started to become a Pokémon Researcher and started a family where your grandson now follows in your footsteps. I also know that you can sometimes be a bit forgetful, but you’re always knowledgeable of things Pokémon. You even like Haikus and that sometimes takes over what you’re trying to do.”
Professor Oak scratched the back of his head as an anime sweat droplet appeared on the right corner of his forehead. “Well, seems as though you know a lot about me. However, your imagination came in with the Celebi. I have no clue what that is about. Also, I am not forgetful.”
Tsubasa smirked and followed Professor Oak as he began walking away from him. The professor motioned his hand for Tsubasa and his Pokémon to follow him so they did until they got inside his Pokémon Research Lab. Tsubasa looked around in amazement. The place looked more like it did in the anime than it did in the game.
"What is your name?" Professor Oak questioned. Tsubasa continued looking around as he started to answer Professor Oak's question. "My name is Tsubasa Hwoarang."
“It is rare to see someone just starting out on a journey and to already have two Pokémon. Especially one from another region.” Professor Oak began. Tsubasa smiled nervously. He hoped that he didn’t ask him how he got the Pokémon. He didn’t want to have to lie. He didn’t want to seem out of place. In a way, he felt at home. Pokémon was all Tsubasa really thought about. Aside from dying and leaving his family behind. “I won’t bother you by asking you how you got them. They seem to like you a lot. So there is no need to ask you questions. However, there are a few items that I want to give you.”
Tsubasa being a Game Freak when it came to Pokémon already knew what Professor Oak was going to give him. Even though he knew what he was going to get, he was excited. “What are you giving me Professor?”
Professor Oak smirked and had five small Pokéballs in his left palm of his hand and a red Pokédex in the right palm of his hand. “This device in my right hand is called a Pokédex. It is an electronic device designed to catalog and provides information regarding various species of Pokémon. Pokéballs are spherical devices used by Pokémon Trainers such as you to capture wild Pokémon and store them when not active. The balls convert a Pokémon into energy upon contact, suck it inside, and close automatically.”
Tsubasa listened intently to the information that Professor Oak told him. Of course he knows a lot about Pokemon, but the show nor did the games ever go into such detail with both the items. “I don’t know how I can thank you enough for these Professor Oak. It was an honor to meet you.”
Professor Oak nodded and smiled. He watched as Tsubasa was about to run out of the Pokemon Research Lab and walked after him. “Tsubasa!” He shouted; getting the young man’s attention before he could get too far away.
“Yes?” He questioned as he turned around to face the Pokemon Researcher. Pikachu whom was standing on Tsubasa’s left shoulder played with his hat. More picked at it. Riolu looked at Professor Oak as he walked up to them trio.
“Maybe you should go tell your mother that you’re leaving. I am sure she’ll be proud of you.” Professor Oak said to Tsubasa. Tsubasa’s smile went away quickly and you could see his eyes water. “I’m sure she would too…”
Those were the last words that he said before walking out of Professor Oak’s Pokemon Research Lab being closely followed by Riolu. Tsubasa was caught up in the excitement and had forgotten all about his family. After Professor Oak mention his mother, he felt saddened. He could only think of where they were and how they were doing…
Professor Oak could tell that he had said something wrong and sent an Aid after Tsubasa. Tsubasa was about to step his foot into Route one but here his name. "Tsubasa! Tsubasa!" said on of Professor Oak's aids. When he got to Tsubasa, he was panting and was bending over with his hands on his knees; trying to catch his breath.
Tsubasa gave the man a questioning look and turned all the way around. "Are you alright?" He questioned. The aid just waved his hand; trying to tell Tsubasa that he was good.
"Professor Oak wanted me to come out here and ask you to sleep at the Lab tonight. I mean, it is getting pretty dark and that is a terrible way to start a Journey." The aids words got to Tsubasa. He remembered a time where his mother advised him to stay inside the house when it got dark because it was dangerous. He wished he had listened that day. Tsubasa nodded and followed the aid back into Professor Oak's Pokemon Research Lab. It was time to go to sleep so that he could wake up the next day and begin his real Pokemon journey.
Randal Small, Real World.
Randal woke up form his sleep. He dreamed he was in his bed again, having the most wonderful sleep he had ever had. But, as he was drifting in his bed, the bloody face of the clerk appeared. His boney hands were reaching out to Randal, clawing at him. He swatted at the hands attempting to make them stop. Soon he realized they were ripping apart his shirt, and they started to tear his flesh. "My heart!" He was yelling "My heart!" over and over again, even after he woke up. He looked around and saw that it was just his make shift home, a small tent his mother bought him. He had been living in it for awhile now, after all the attacks on his mothers house. He didn't want her to be caught in the cross fire. After testifying against his gang's leader, his head now had a giant bull's eye and price tag on it. He couldn't even sneeze without worrying about being shot.
Soon he ventured out of his tent. it was still dark outside. He hoped that the darkness would hide him as he searched for food. He walked down the small alley when he heard a clang. He stopped and jumped into a dark doorway, thinking someone found him. It was only a cat though. With a sigh of relief, he started walking again. But, as he got to a corner, a hand grabbed him. The hand flung him into a room, where 4 other people were. They quickly tied him up. "Heh, finally caught yah. We've been looking for you! Finding you was harder then robbing the local grocery store," He said still in darkness. "But pays alot better!" When he smiled, he emerged into the light and reveled to Randal that it was his old childhood friend.
"Why did you have to do it, Randal? Everything was good before you snitched!" His friend punched him in the face, causeing Randal to spit up blood. Randal composed himself and calmly said, "He promised that we wouldn't hurt anyone, not even a fly. And he was right, we didn't hurt anyone, but instead we killed someone!" He clenched his teeth and pulled at the rope, wanting to put this guy in his place. His "friend" only punched him again, this time in the other cheek. He pulled out a gun and placed on his forehead. "Good bye Randal..." As he said his farewell, Randal saw a single tear fall, then a loud crack and blackness.
Randal Small, Near Sadgem Town
Soon, he was awake again. Only his was in a large bush of some sorts. It felt nice, but where was he. He sat up and realized his back hurt, but not his face, or forehead. He didnt even taste blood anymore. He heard a animalistic like grunt from his left and right side. He stood up, holding his back. He looked to the right and saw a small child. It looked alittle wierd for a kid, like its head was cut into square tops. It also had pink skin. "WOAH!" It stood up and started yelling, jumping past Randal and landing on a giant Dragonfly. They rolled around for a couple seconds then they crashed into an unsuspecting Randal. They were fighting on top of eachother until Randal pushed each away from eachother. "Hang on guys!" *Wait, what am I doing? These are pokemon...POKEMON!* He looked up and saw the tyrouge and yanma both breathing hard.
Soon, the tyrouge started shouting again and pointing at the yanma. Likewise, the yanma was making buzzing noise and motioning towards the tyrouge. "Alright! That's enough!" They both stoped and looked up at the boy. "You two need to stop fighting over...whatever your fighting about. Where are your trainers?" Both pokemon gave him a wierd look. He sighed, guessing they had no trainers. "Look, you guys need a trainer if your going to fight properly. So, until you do, i suggest finding one." He stepped out from between them and looked around. He saw a man that looked like he knew what was going on. He walked to him and tapped him on the shoulder. "Hey, where am I?" The man turned around and gave him a stern look. "This is Sandgem Town, you must be who I am waiting for." He grabbed randal before he could respond and dragged him to the nearby house.
"I am professor Rowan. I'm here to start you on your journey." He picked up some pokeballs and a pokedex and placed them in his hands. "Now go out and adventure!" Randal looked at the items in his hand, then at the man. "But, I'm not suppose to be here!" Rowan pointed at the door. Randal turned around and saw the two pokemon from before gazing in at him. "I saw what you did earlier, your a natural, so don't watse your talents. You should start with those two since they have grown so fond of you." Randal couldn't argue with the man, he was good. He walked towards them and they both jumped back. He got down on one knee and motioned for them to come closer. When they did, he said "Get in." Simultaniously, they both hit the middle button and turned into a red light, entering the pokeball.
Leo - Near Route 101 - Kanto
I slowly woke up, grabbing my head. I had a horrible headache. My head was throbbing. I sat up against a nearby tree. I looked down at my chest and saw that my clothes were torn and I was bleeding a little. I grabbed my first aid kit from my backpack and attempted to heal my wounds. I was to busy healing my wounds I did not notice where I was or the small bluish purplish alligator like creature to my right. It was watching my with a curious look on it's face. I glanced at it quickly and looked back at my wounds. Then I sprang to my feet as I realized ihad no idea what the creaturei just saw was. Sharp pains ran all over my body and I fell to my knees. All I could do now is hope that whatever this creature would not harm me any more that I already was.
The pain was calming down, but it hurt to move. I looked over to the small creature. It remained still and continued to watch me. It slowly and cautiously advanced towards me. I didn't move away from it, like I could anyways, my body was in pain every time I moved.
"Gib." The small creature said. I examined it carefully. It had several sharp teeth, a red belly, and a short tail. It also appeared to have rough skin. It reached its claw like hand towards me and had some sort of liquid in its hand. It rubbed it on my wounds. It stung bad in the beginning, the began to feel cool and the pain went down. I could move now with minimal pain.
"Gible!" It said, sounding happy. It sat down next to me. Another small blue creature that sort of looked like a blue puppy that walked on two legs. I didn't know what was going on, but I didn't care. I figured I was either dying or dead and this was either a dream or a halucination. I decided to go along with it for the time being. "Gible Gible." It said repeatedly over and over again, pointing north. The blue dog like one was also pointing in the same direction.
I guess you want me to follow ya right?" I asked it. It nodded and began to move. I slowly got up and limped behind him. After thirty long semi painful minutes of walking, I finally saw a huge ranch like lab area he saw a sign that said "Pallet Town".
"Hmm, never heard of it." I shrugged. I walked up to the dirt road. On the way up to the lab like building I noticed several other mysterious creatures in which I had never seen before. I was shocked, but at the time treating my injuries is all that mattered. A group of egg shaped pink creatures with a nurses cap came to my side. I was really tired and fell to the ground. My eyes are were closed, but I could feel myself being lifted and a voice.
"Put him in the bed." Is all I heard and then I passed out.
Commander Blade "Stryker" Tien,
Afghanistan
The air was hot, which annoyed Blade. He was not used to such hot weather, even though he had been serving in Afghanistan for ages, he still, was not able to cope with the hot weather of Afghanistan. To his left sat Sgt. Peter Daniels, his second in command. Blade was in the third Jeep of the convoy, in the back. The driver was Pvt. Alexander Joseph, a good soldier, in Blade's point of view.
Suddenly, the entire ground shook, as the first jeep literally went flying into the air, before landing on top of the second, and then rolling towards Blade's jeep.
"Crap!" Alexander shouted, swerving the jeep to the left.
Suddenly, the jeep that had been rolling towards them exploded, engulfing the front of Blade's jeep in flames. The driver, and passenger, were dead. Blade grit his teeth, looking at his men.
"Fall out! Get all units out of transports ASAP!" Blade shouted, kicking open the back door of the jeep.
Ten soldiers besides Blade jumped out of the jeep, and the rest of the convoy swerved off the road to join Blade. The troops got out of their transports and jeeps, and there were at least two hundred troops gathered together.
"Fan out, we have to-" Blade shouted, when an explosion rang his ears, and he was lying on the floor.
Blade re-opened his eyes, the pain excrutiating, and saw the horror wreaked. The convoy was all in ruins, flames swirled up from the battered carcasses of the jeeps and transports. Blade's men lay on the floor, dead. He was the last one left alive. Ha! Alive? What did that mean now? He was as good as dead anyway. One man, stranded with no vehicle, neck deep in Afghan terrorist territory, he stood a bigger chance of winning the lottery, and living on the bloody Sun than surviving out here alone.
Pain engulfed Blade, and soon, he blacked out, the pain too much.
Blade "Stryker" Tien
Outskirts of Sandgem Town
Blade sat up with a grunt, holding his head where the pain was coming from. Or used to be, anyway. He took his hand away, and stood up, looking around. He noticed that everything he remembered was gone. His gun was also not there. His men, nor the convoy, were here either. Wait, hell no was this Afghanistan. It had bloody trees! And, there were, wait, Pokemon!?
"So I'm in the god damn Pokemon world am I? Great.... I must be dreaming, no wait, I can't be dreaming. I felt pain. I remember what happened to me in Afghanistan, in a dream, I would have no idea what happened, until I woke up. Maybe my life was all a dream? Hell no." Blade began speaking to himself, wondering what the hell was going on.
Blade's head rapidly moved to look right, as he heard rustling. He felt his dog tags rattle slightly when his head moved so fast. Damn, it was real. Well, at least he had his dog tags. He glanced down, and saw a belt on him, with slots on it. What the hell had happened to his belt!?
"Munch... Munchlax!" a voice shouted happily, and a small, blue, mini-version of Snorlax, came waddling out of the bush, a berry in its hand. "Munchlax!"
"A Munchlax? Oh, I remember now, it's the pre evolution of Snorlax! It was.... is my favourite Pokemon" Blade whispered to himself, and the Munchlax shouted happily again.
"Munchlax... lax!" Munchlax said, walking towards Blade.
"You want.... to be with me?" At that, Munchlax nodded. "Alright then, Munchlax, wait, I can't keep calling you Munchlax. I'll call you Ikaru. So, Ikaru, do you like your name?"
"Munch... Munch! Lax... Munchlax!" Ikaru shouted more happily, nodding proudly.
Another rustling caused Blade to look at the same bush that Ikaru had come through, and saw a small dog-like creature, that stood on its hind legs. A Riolu! Blade's second favourite Pokemon. He smiled.
"Lu... Riolu!" Riolu said, smiling, looking at Blade.
"You want to be with me as well?" Riolu nodded. "Alright then, you'll need a name though. How does Ize sound?"
"Lu... Rio.... Riolu... lu!" Ize shouted, nodding.
"If I know where I am, then I'm near Sandgem Town. Let's go there!" To this, Ize and Ikaru shouted their joy, and the trio set off towards Sandgem, and Rowan.
Alex outskirts of new bark town
after walking in circles for a long time alex and onix found themselves lost. They had been walking around for hours without finding new bark town, but suddenly they had a change in their luck as they saw a small yellow pokemon that had two horn like items on its head that looked like ac plugs. i can believe it, an elekid. Alex said with a surprised tone. lekid the small ac pokemon responded. do you know where new bark town is? Alex asked as he got of his thrusty onix's back. lekid elekid said while pointing in the direction of new bark town.
well thanks. alex said while he got on his Onix's back. as they left they saw that elekid seamed sad and lonely. what is it elekid? he seamed worried about the little guy. elekid walked towards some bushes and made a sign for Alex to follow him. elekid used a thunderbolt attack to destroy the bushes, and behind them there was a dead electabuzz. it was yellow but it had fleshwounds all over. and there was a bullet entry hole in its skull. the body had not started to decompose yet but there where flies all over it trying to eat off of it. was that your mother? Alex asked whitout being able to hold down the tears. lekid as he said this elekid held its head down and cried. if you want you can team up with us, so that you wont have to be all alone as he said this he was trying to figure out who could have done such a cruel thing. lekid Elekid said while wipping off some tears and going towards Alex and onix. rawgr onix seamed happy that they had gotten another team mate but at the same time sad about what happened to elekids momwell its settled then. you will join us. and i promise you, we will find out who did that to your mother and after that being said the group headed towards new bark town.
Blake Pattenson
Outside Pallet Town, Kanto
Blake slowly opened his eyes. The last thing he remembered was being caught in the back of an alley on his collage campus. A sharp pain had shot through his head, and then he had blacked out. However, something was wrong. Blake was not feeling any pain, and as he opened his eyes, he realized that he was no longer in an alley. In fact, he was staring up, through lush tree branches, at a bright, blue sky. Blake sat up and turned his head, unintentionally ramming his head into a hard, rock object. "Ow, now that hurt," said Blake, as he clinched his eyes shut in pain.
"Rhy," said a creature into Blake's ear. Blake opened his eyes again, rubbing his sore head with his hand. He turned around and saw two oddly familiar creatures standing behind him. One had a body that looked like it was made of rocks. On this creature's face was a large horn and two, intense-looking eyes. The other creature was smaller with brown fur and a white main. Its beady black eyes also looked up at Blake. The two creatures were standing in the middle of a path that wound its way down a hill to a town that was visible in the distance. Blake turned his head back to the creatures again, who were still just staring up at him. They really did look familier. Then it hit him...
"I know," said Blake, standing up. "You two are pokemon from a game I used to play when I was younger." When Blake was younger, he used to play Pokemon Yellow Version. However, this did not clear up the confusion. Blake still had no idea what was going on. Pokemon were supposed to be imaginary, weren't they?
Meanwhile, the two pokemon, who Blake remembered as being a Rhyhorn and an Eevee, started walking down the path towards the town. The Eevee looked back and beckoned for Blake to follow him. "You want me to follow you? Alright, its not like I have anywhere else to go." Blake followed the two pokemon into the town, and they led him up to a large building on the edge of the town. It was evening, and as Blake approached the building, a man walked out of it wearing a nightgown. Blake though he recognized the man.
"Rhy," yelled the Rhyhorn, alerting the man's attention.
The man turned toward us. "Yes? What is it?" Then it hit me. The man was none other than Professor Oak. Blake remembered him, in his game at least, as being a Pokemon professor who gave new pokemon trainers their first pokemon.
"Your Professor Oak," I yelled, still in disbelief.
"Err, well, yes I am," said the professor, who looked very confused. Rhyhorn and Eevee walked up to him, talking and making motions toward me frantically. "O no," said the professor. I think I understand whats going on. Come with me."
Blake followed the professor, the rhyhorn, and the eevee into the lab, still not understanding, at all, what was happening. "Professor, what is going on here?" Blake asked him. "Why am I here?"
"I don't know exactly what is happening," said the professor. "However, two other people came by earlier today, and it sounds like the same thing that happened to them has happened to you. They both said that they woke up after a traumatic experience, and found themselves here, in Kanto, with two pokemon looking over them. They are both sleeping in the guest corridors. You are free to join them."
"But what am I doing here? How did I get here? Why were these pokemon looking over me?" Blake Asked.
"I dont know why or how you got here," said the professor, "But the two pokemon here have been looking out for you since you got here. The same thing has happened to the two other trainers who came by. Now I will give you some pokeballs and a pokedex. Get some sleep and we will discuss this more in the morning."
Blake was still extremely confused, but he walked to the guest corridors, and went to sleep, wondering what surprises the morning would bring him.
Blade "Stryker" Tien
Heading towards Sandgem Town
Blade stopped walking, and began thinking about his name. He liked his name, but thought, maybe, this was all a trick, to reveal his personal details to the enemy. With everyone he would meet, he would have to lie, lest he give away secrets. What could he call himself? Then, it hit him. Well, not literally. But he was hit by Ikaru, and that made him remember his nickname.
His Regiment had always called him Stryker when they talked amongst themselves about him, given the fact that one, he was the least strict Commander out there, two- he was practically always on target when using a sniper, and three, he didn't get them up as early as others. Now, why the hell the first and last reasons were why they called him Stryker, he would never know. Not since they... died.
Tears filled his eyes. All his friends. His men. Dead. He still couldn't believe it. He collapsed onto his knees, and punched the dry dirt, some of it sticking to his knuckle. Red liquid mixed with the dirt, and he felt pain go through him as the dirt mixed with the wound. He pushed the wound out of his train of thought, and stood up, when suddenly, the wind began picking up.
Out of nowhere, ten Starly came flying towards Stryker, as he was going to call himself from now on, and he had no time to react as they unleased gust attacks on him. Ize jumped out in front of Stryker, and held out one hand, palm facing the Starly. He unleashed his own Aerial Ace attacks, which stopped the Starly's Aerial Ace attacks, and then Ize launched himself up, and unleashed Aerial Aces which hit the Starlys. Eight of them were taken out, when Ikaru began wagging his fingers from side to side, and the last two Starlys struggled as a purple outline surrounded them, and they were slammed into some trees, and they collapsed on top of the rest of the Starly.
Stryker stood up, looking at Ikaru and Ize.
"You... You saved me." Stryker said, smiling. "Thank you."
Stryker could see that Sandgem Town was only a five minute walk away, before looking back at the Starly. He picked one of them up, and walked towards Sandgem Town. If he could get the Starly patched up, maybe it would thank him, and allow him to capture it. It looked as if he would need more Pokemon if he was going to get through this, and so, why pass up the opportunity to get a Starly?
Stryker arrived in Sandgem Town quite quickly, and saw the Pokemon Center next to the lab, he rushed inside, Ikaru and Ize by his side, and placed the Starly on the counter.
"Can you please look after this Starly for me, until I get back?" Stryker asked.
"That will be okay. I just need your name." Nurse Joy replied, smiling.
"Bla- Stryker." Stryker nearly said his real name, but stopped himself.
"Okay. Mister Stryker, Starly will be in Room 401, and by the way, this Starly is Female." Joy said, smiling, getting up, and taking the Starly into the back of the Pokemon Center.
Stryker walked away from the counter, smiling softly to himself. He left the Pokemon Center, and headed towards the lab. Stryker had played Pokemon games before he went to Afghanistan, and had played the new Platinum in his spare time every now and then. He had every Pokemon game, excluding the Mystery Dungeons, and those crappy ones such as Pokemon Pinball, and others. He only had the 'proper' Pokemon games as he called them, such as Ruby, Yellow, Diamond, Pearl, Sapphire, Platinum etc.
Stryker entered the lab, and looked around. Yep. Definetely Rowan's lab. Everything was there.
Trenecko, Hoenn, Petalburg woods
Trenecko sighed and finally sat up. "So...I can't just keep calling you Vulpix, can I? It sounds so plain." She asked the little rust-colored ball of fluff, it bounced up and down excitedly, yipping a response. Trenecko laughed and smiled at him "How 'bout Kit? it's short for Kitsune, the japanese word for fox, which you look like." she asked, again, the Vulpix gave a little yip.
"Vulpix!" Kit crie, and bounced into Trenecko's lap. the girl couldn't help but laugh and then pet her new friend on the head.
"Well, Kit, my name is Trenecko, nice to meet you." She joked, then got more serious "Do you think you can lead me to the next town so I can figure out where I'm at, especially what region, I should know how to get around from there." she asked, Kit leapt from her lap and bounced off, Trenecko got up and began to follow, Kit making sure she kept up with him.
After about a half hour, the two came out into a grassy area that lead to a beach. At the woods entrance there wasa sign "Petalburg Woods" was written on it. Trenecko smiled "Hoenn." she said firmly. Kit nodded and then began a cantering walk down to the water, then both heard a cry and Kit burst into a run while Trenecko stumbled after him.
When she finally caught up, Kit was worriedly sniffing and licking another pokemon Trenecko recognized from memeory because she'd thought it to be so cute a while back--a Surskit. The little water pokemon was beaten up and crying for help, but it seemed Kit couldn't help it. Trenecko looked around, noticing a small house by the water "Stay here, Kit and make sure that Surskit doesn't get hurt anymore." she ordered and ran toward the house. When she got there, she almmost banged down the door, which an old man answered.
"What's the problem miss, you seem frantic." The old man asked her, Trenecko looked back at kit and the Surskit.
"There's a badly hurt Surskit on the beach, and I don't have the supplies to help it!" she replied. The old man nodded, disapearing into his house for a moment, and coming out with several bottles and proceeded toward the pokemon.
"There. This should help her until you get to Petalburg and to a pokemon center to have the poor thing treated." He finally told her, Trenecko nodded and took the Surskit into her arms, where it immediatly fell asleep.
"Thank you, sir. I'll come back to see you with her when she gets better." Trenecko promised, nodding to Kit and proceeding into the next set of smaller woods.
Tsubasa Hwoarang
Pokémon - Pikachu & Riolu
Bag - 5 Pokéballs, 5 Potions, 1 Pokédex
Location(s) - Pallet Town, Kanto to Route 1
As the sun rose above the horizon, a Dodrio crowed to announce the beginning of the day. Sunlight hit the small and quiet town of Pallet Town and shown through the windows of its inhabitants. Inside one of the guest rooms in Professor Oak’s Pokémon Research Lab, one teenage male opened his eyes and quickly put his right hand over them because the sun temporarily blinded him. Beside him were Pikachu, The Small Electric Mouse Pokémon and Riolu. Riolu is a small, blue, dog-like Pokémon. Its legs and torso are colored black. Riolu’s tail is blue and it has a yellow collar. There are rounded bumps on the backs of Riolu’s forepaws, which could be the beginnings of the spikes on Lucario’s forepaws. Riolu has a black ‘mask’ and red eyes.
Tsubasa Hwoarang sat up and looked around him. He noticed that there were two other males with two Pokémon each with them sleeping on the floor in sleeping bags just like he was. He yawned and stretched before standing up to his feet. He put his skull cap back on and made sure he and his Pokémon had all of their things. They made sure not to make any noises. They didn’t want to seem rude and wake the other two up.
Tsubasa put his hand on the doorknob and twisted, after that he slowly pulled it towards him so that he could open the door. He did it slowly because he didn’t want the door to make a creaking noise. Tsubasa kept his right hand on the doorknob and used his left hand to signal for his Pokémon to come on. Riolu ran out first and Pikachu followed. After that, Tsubasa was the next to leave. He closed the door and then let go of the doorknob.
“Ah, so you’re awake. Had a nice sleep?” asked Professor Oak. He seemed like he was awake all night and showed no signs of being sleepy. Tsubasa smiled as Pikachu climbed up his left leg and didn’t stop climbing until he was standing on his left shoulder. Tsubasa couldn’t figure out why he continued doing that, but he felt like he was Ash Ketchum. Tsubasa ignored the bags under the Professor’s eyes and nodded to answer his question.
“I’d like to thank you again Professor Oak. When I leave here, I’ll be sure to gather as much information in my Pokédex needed. Please tell your aid thank you as well. He gave me five potions last night. I know it’ll be a real help.” Tsubasa told Professor Oak. After hearing those words, Professor Oak seemed like he was wide awake. Those words had definitely brightened his day. Pikachu and Riolu waved at Professor Oak as the trio walked out of his Pokémon Research Lab and stepped in to Route 1.
As Tsubasa and his Pokémon traveled through Route 1, they began hearing rustling. They looked around and saw nothing. Tsubasa looked down to his right to look at Riolu and then to his left shoulder to look at Pikachu. The three looked forward and shrugged. Everything they did, they did it in unison. Tsubasa knew that since this was more like the anime, it was possible for him to catch a Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle. He wanted all three of them. He had plans to go to the Orange Islands and he wanted to conquer the Pokémon Indigo League. One thing he wasn’t sure about was the Elite Four. Since this seemed to go more down the path of the anime, was there even an Elite Four? He didn’t think of it too much as he and his Pokémon continued walking.
Trenecko, Hoenn, Petalburg
Petalburg was alot bigger than it was in the game, Trenecko found out when she, Kit and the Surskit entered the town. It surprised Trenecko that Kit still stayed with her once they left the woods, but he followed her through the city's streets shyly and without fail. Sadly, they were totally lost.
"Excuse me, you look lost." A boy said, and Trenecko turned to face Prof. Birch's son Brendan. She stared at the boy for a moment, then answered him.
"I am lost. I need to get this Surskit to the pokemon center, it's hurt badly." She replied, Kit hid behind he legs, looking at the boy with suspicion. Brendan nodded and put a hand on her shoulder, guiding her.
"This way." He said, Kit followed them, still not liking Brendan, especially now that he'd put a hand on his friend, and soon to be trainer.
Once the Surskit had been turned over to Nurse Joy, Trenecko had sat down to wait, and Brendan followed.
"So, why are you waiting for that surskit? You told Nurse Joy it was wild." He asked. Trenecko turned to look at him and cocked her head at him.
"Why wouldn't I? Yes, she's wild, but I want to make sure she's okay. Kit's wild, too, but he's staying with me." Trenecko told the boy simply. Brendan frowned at her.
"Why are you travling with wild pokemon? Don't you have any pokemon of your own?" He asked, Trenecko shook her head slightly.
"No, I don't. I came from...another world, I guess you could say. I'm not from here at all. I don't have any supplies at all, otherwise I probably would have caught Kit. I think he wants me to be his trainer, I think that's why he's still with me." She admitted. Brendan nodded thoughtfully.
"Dad said something similar about distortions in space bringing people from different worlds here. He found a man by Oldale in a similar condition, but he was very bad off, had to be sent to a hospital. Once that Surskit is healed, I want you to come with me to Dad's lab, maybe we'll stop by to see that man... Would you be up to that, Miss...?" He let the miss hang until Trenecko filled the blank in.
"Trenecko. Trenecko Inui. And yes, I'll go with you as soon as I hear how that Surkit's doing." She replied.
The Frozen Prince
07-18-2009, 08:40 PM
Blane slowly sat up but his aching back made that a slow and painful process. He sat on the grass, waiting and hoping that his senses would return. Blane's last memory was being hit by a large car which should have killed him but instead he was sitting up in an unknown area. His first sense to return was his sense of touch. He could fell grass underneath him and new that grass shouldn't be underneath him if he was hit in the city. Next, his sense of hearing returned. He could here birds around him but they all seemned to be owls because the chirping was more of a hoot. His eyesight came back slowly as he stood up.
The sunlight shon harshly and Blane had to shield his eyes from the blinding sun above. He shook off the dirt from his clothes and immediatly went to his phone which he never left home without. he held it high up in the air, searching for signal but it was no luck. The repeated message of no signal flashed continuously. Blane through his phone forcefully at the grand as he made his way into a forest, shaded by trees which seemed to be growing for centuries. His leg was damaged and seemed to be fractions so his right leg had to support most of his weight. He grabbed onto the trees for support as he dragged his left leg through the forest, looking for any sign of life. As Blane through him self helplessly from tree to tree, his hand got stuck in a strange object. He looked up to see that he had gotten stuck in a huge spider.
"No no no no no." Blane reapeted to himself as his only fear started to approach him.
A large spider, larger then anything Blane had ever seen started to approach him. Blane recognised the creatures face from one of his younger brother's cards. It was a Pokemon.
"This can't be real. Must be dreaming." Blane said and he started to relax at that thought.
The spider, known as Ariados to those familiar with Pokemon, bit sharply on Blane's hand making him bleed. Blane screamed quietly to himself at the pain fushed up his body, paralyzing him. From that bite, Blane knew that this wasn't a dream but he still didn't know where he was or what this illusion was. Blane fell to the florr, unable to stand as the paralyzing took it's full effect. Just as Blane was loosing hop, a small Pokemon appeared. The Pokemon was swift on it's feet but didn't look like it would be. The Pokemon resembled a mouse, with a large sized snout. It's fur was blue on the top of the creature but it's underneath was a mily colour. Flame's erupted from it's back and it started to spin towards Blane.
"Cyndaquil!" The small mouse yeld as it span towards Blane, body covered in flames.
Blane tried his hardest to jump out of the way but he wasn't able to move a muscle. Behind the flaming, spining mouse, another small Pokemon stad. It wasn't fast on it's feet like it's partner but it looked like a strong fighter. The Pokemon was Orange and looked all most bug-like with an incredible jaw. It's head seemed to big too large for it's body but it held it up high and proud. It's eyes were black and a small star like symbol replaced where the iris should be.
"Trapinch!" The Pokemon yelled loudly as the fire mouse rolled towards Blane, it's body covered with fire.
Cyndaquil span but it's flamed body wasn't aiming for Blane. Instead, he hit the large spider who hissed at the two Pokemon who were ruining it's plans. Trapinch opened it's mouth and a gust of sand emerged, covering the area in a small sandstorm know as a sand tomb attack. THe Ariados flailed around, hopping to his it's foes but it missed ever time. Something bit onto Blane's legs but only hard enough to get a good grip and dragged Blane out of the area, still in his paralyzed state.
As Blane and the two helpful Pokemon escaped the sanded area, the paralyzing effect started to wear off.
"Thank you." Blane said to the helpful Pokemon but he didn't know if they would understand or not.
The two Pokemon nodded and happily repeated their names. Blane was pretty happy that the only thing they were capable of saying was their names because it made it so much easier. Blane pulled himself up on a tree, the Pokemon following behind him.
"You don't have to help me." Blane said to the Pokemon smiling but they seemed to want to help him out.
Blane continued through the forest, hoping to find some one to help him out but he felt better knowing that he had two companions with him.
Sarai “Scarlet” Johansen Ilex Forest, Johto
“New Friends"
I woke to a rough tongue on my face. Esperanza continued to lick me until I unthinkingly moved my right hand to stop her. The renewed pain woke me up for sure. Now not only did I have the bullet wound, which hurt the most, but the puncture wounds in my forearms and on my back weren’t exactly gentle either. A few reopened as I moved to sit up. My left side was sore from sleeping on it, and my neck wasn’t exactly in the greatest shape either. I was a mess. At least the bullet wound seemed to hurt less today, and it hadn’t started bleeding again to my knowledge, but that probably meant that if I ever did find my way to a doctor they’d have to do surgery to get the bullet out. That didn’t sound fun at all.
I yawned as Esperanza yipped, “Ee Vee Ee Vee!” I wasn’t sure exactly what she wanted, but I turned to look and she was prancing about near a tree not too far away to my left. The light wasn’t strong in the woods, but that didn’t mean much to me time-wise, it could be noon, though the forest didn’t seem hot enough to me for that. Then again, I’d never been in a forest before, so who was to say what was and wasn’t hot among a covey of trees?
“What?” I asked from my seated position.
“Ee Vee!” She yipped again.
“Alright, alright, I’m coming! Though I can’t imagine what’s so interesting about that tree.” I mumbled the last bit as I stood. At least my legs still worked without giving me pain. As I took the few strides to reach the tree, I saw that Esperanza was pestering the owl, who was miraculously still alive. I saw then what I had heard as far as the snapping bone went. The owl was still on the ground because it couldn’t fly. Esperanza had snapped its right wing just below the shoulder joint. Had the owl arms it would have probably been hurt right around where the bullet was in my arm.
“Enough, Esperanza, leave the poor thing alone. It was just trying to protect its territory. It can’t hurt either of us right now.” Esperanza looked at me almost confused.
“Come.” I said as I turned away. I wanted food, and to be out of the forest. I wasn’t going to get either just sitting there watching the poor owl. I couldn’t help it, I wasn’t a vet, I could barely take care of myself out here. At least I had Esperanza to help me, though with nothing to tie her to me or ensure she stayed by my side, I wasn’t sure how long that would last either. I knew that water was more important to find than was food. A person could live longer without food than they could without water.
I stopped when I reached the tree I was familiar with again. There were blood stains near the roots of it now, though those would probably fade soon enough. I stood there a second watching the small dots of sunlight dancing on the ground beneath it. Then I realized if I could figure out what direction the sun was shining from I’d know where East was since it was morning. Then I could choose to go either East or West and if I couldn’t find anything within a certain amount of time I could then turn and go back the other way and be almost certain of finding my way back to where I had been. It wasn’t much of a bearing, but it was better than nothing.
Before I could do anything though, Esperanza yipped at me again. “Ee Vee!” I turned to look. The owl had followed us on foot. I was rather surprised. I had thought it would simply stay at its own tree. Then I realized that perhaps the tree whose roots he had hidden among might not be his tree. I looked at the tree I was beginning to recognize a little more closely and I saw up a little higher, was the owl’s hollow in the tree. I felt a little bad. It couldn’t get back to its nesting hollow and even if I put it up there the owl wouldn’t be able to get back down to hunt. But, there wasn’t a thing I could do about it.
“Hoot hoo.” The owl almost sighed. In the light the small thing was almost cute, though its red eyes were still pretty creepy.
“We’ll be out of your territory in a little while, I promise.” Not wanting to anger the owl again I quickly did what I meant to do.
I looked at the ground, found a place where it was dirt instead of grass and picked up a small hand-full. Then I threw it up in front of me. As the dry dirt sprinkled back to the ground, I could see the rays of the sun, but they looked like they were coming straight down. I frowned and tried the trick again but looking at it from a different direction, to the left of the tree I had become familiar with. This time the rays were slanted, but only slightly. I found that east was beyond the tree to the right, and west away from the tree on my left. Now all that was left to do was to choose, should I head East or West? I wished right then that I had a coin to flip, because from where I stood one direction was neither better nor worse than another. I finally decided to try heading East.
So, I said to my Eevee companion, “Come on Esperanza let’s go. We’ll leave the owl in peace.” I began moving past the tree, towards what I could only hope was some kind of track out of this miserable forest. Esperanza took up a position on my left hand side, with her front feet only a slight step ahead of mine while her back paws were just at my heel. Yet, as we began to move away, Esperanza kept looking back. I figured she was just watching to make sure the owl didn’t get angry and try to attack again, not that it could do so in any kind of efficient matter, so I didn’t bother looking back.
But, when she was still looking behind what felt like a good ten minutes later when I was sure by now the owl and his clearing must be well out of sight, I decided perhaps I should see if anything was following. I stopped. Esperanza got a few steps ahead before she realized I that had.
When I turned, I was very surprised to see that the owl had followed. But, it didn’t look angry, just kinda sad, hopping along behind. When it saw that I had stopped, it hopped along all the faster. “Hoot-hoot.” It vocalized.
“Eevee eev Eevee.” Esperanza replied, my Eevee didn’t look happy that the owl had followed.
“Hoo hoot hoo-hoot. Hoot hoo oot” I was left to wonder to myself if the owl wasn’t a Pokemon too, it sure seemed like they were conversing just like in the old animes I had watched as a kid.
“Eevee Eev ee eevee.”
“Hoo hoo hoot hoot oot hoot hoo hoot.” With that my companion looked at me expectantly.
“I can’t understand you, even if you somehow can understand me.” I told her. She only cocked her head at me.
“What do you want me to do? It followed us. I’m not a vet, I can’t help it.” Then an idea came to me, but what if I could get the owl to a vet who could help, and then it would at least have a chance at surviving on its own. I was trying to find my way out to get help for myself, I could at least try to take the owl with me. Had I not shown up the two Pokemon may never have fought at all.
“Alright, he can come with us, but him hopping along behind like that would slow us down a lot, and it probably wouldn’t be good for his wing either… I should try to find a way to carry him.” I had to think about that for a bit… I didn’t want to just hold him on my bare arm, he might squeeze his talons too tight without even realizing it. I knew birds of prey had powerful talons. I looked at the branches, and looked at my arm, I was thinking that if I maybe tied a few twigs around my left forearm he would crack them before he cracked my bones and we’d both know he was starting to hold too tight. I started looking around on the ground and found that there were enough twigs there to work, but then the question became once more, what to tie them with. I settled on my headband. It was made of pretty thick material that would also help guard against the talons and I could just twist it around with my right hand to hold the twigs on. I was going to look a little odd, but it wasn’t like I was all that likely to meet anyone out in the forest anyway.
I had a little trouble rigging the makeshift arm-guard but in the end I put the headband around my arm and after breaking the twigs to a length that would still allow me to move my arm at the elbow, I put them underneath it spacing them out so that they would give all-around protection. It wasn’t the most comfortable thing in the world, but I was in enough pain already that it wasn’t a huge deal to have just that much more discomfort. Plus, the poor owl had a broken wing that I didn’t know how to splint, so it was pretty certain that he was in pain too. When the arm-guard was in place I knelt down and held my arm low so that the owl-creature could step up onto it. At first he was afraid.
“Come on, I promise I won’t try to hurt you. Though I can’t promise I won’t accidentally move in a way that might hurt your wing, but I will try to keep that down to a minimum. Just hold on to my arm like a branch. Just don’t squeeze too tight ok? I’ll let you know if it’s too much.” I just hoped the twigs I had chosen were pliable enough to bend when he squeezed but brittle enough to break if it was too much.
He took a good grip of my arm with first one talon and one of the sticks cracked and he looked at me, but I just shrugged and said, “I guess that one was just really brittle, it’s not too tight.” It was even more uncomfortable having the twigs start to dig into my arm, but to my mind it was a better alternative than having him break my arm on accident when I already couldn’t use my good hand. He then took hold of my arm with his other talon. He was heavier than he looked but, not too heavy for me to hold with the one arm. I slowly rose up off the ground keeping my arm as steady as I could. Without being able to use my right hand to push against the ground with it was a tad more difficult than I had thought it would be, but I managed it.
“Hoo” The owl quietly commented as he gripped just slightly tighter. Another twig snapped, but I could tell it wasn’t too tight and when he looked at me this time I said,
“You’re good, just don’t go too much tighter than that.”
The owl-creature actually nodded in reply. I was bewildered when I saw it, but then I remembered that I might not be dealing with a normal owl. Despite my misgivings, I was slowly coming to believe that these two creatures might actually be Pokemon, though how it was even possible still baffled me.
“We’ll try to find a doctor for me, and a vet for you, so let’s get out of this forest.” I told the owl and Esperanza. I had only walked the direction we had been going the whole time as I had gathered the sticks, not wanting to lose what little sense of direction I had, but God only knew if the direction I had chosen was the right direction. But, standing around certainly wasn’t going to get us anywhere, so East we went. By this time I thought it felt like afternoon, since the light was beginning to soften just a tad.
Esperanza and I walked on for what felt like an eternity to me but was probably only an hour or two in reality. My arm holding the owl was starting to burn from the effort of holding his weight, though he had fallen asleep and was still just holding on, when Esperanza suddenly turned off to our right taking a defensive stance and pointing in the direction of what I thought might be North, though I wasn’t sure.
“What is it Esperanza?” I could only assume it had heard something with those long ears that I could only guess at.
“Eevee.” My companion almost growled. I don’t think it knew any more than I did.
I waited, a little while, and it didn’t take long for me to hear what she did. It sounded like someone coming through the forest towards us. My whole goal was finding people, civilization really, but if someone had found me in the woods I wasn’t about to run away from them. I let them come to me though.
It was a man, he had brown hair and green eyes. He was dressed in a nice suit that looked a little rumpled. On his back was a backpack, and with him were two more creatures, they also looked like Pokemon, one was a little orange creature and the other was a blue and white creature with four little holes on its back, though I couldn’t even imagine any animal on earth like these two. For what seemed like a whole minute we just kinda stared at one another. I was thinking I must look a total mess, possibly even wild because of the arm-guard, the owl, and all the dried blood on my forearms.
“Hi,” I said tentatively. “I’m Sarai.” I couldn’t think of what else to say at the moment. I wondered where he had come from, and if he knew how to get out of the forest.
Blake
Pallet Town, Kanto
Items: 5 pokeballs, pokedex
Light was shining in through the window in front of Blake when he woke up. Blake sat up and turned to his side, noticing Rhyhorn and Eevee asleep by his sleeping bag. To Blakes right was an empty sleeping bag and to his left, a boy was still sleeping. Blake stood up, taking care not to wake the sleeping pokemon or the other boy. He walked out of the room and down the hall of the lab, looking for Professor Oak. The Pokemon professor was in his study sipping coffee and feeding a charmander, bulbasaur, and squirtle. "Hello professor. How are you?" Blake said. The professor turned from the table that the three pokemon were sitting on.
"Good Morning... Blake, isnt it? Are you rested and ready to set out on your journey?"
Blake looked shocked. "Journey? I am afraid I don't know what your talking about. All I want to do is go home."
"Well then I'm sure you will figure out how to as you journey. I'm assuming your pokemon are well rested as well? They will need to be at their top strength. Now I hope you still have that Pokedex and those Poke balls that I gave you last night because I am afraid I have no extras. You should probably get going soon. One boy already left earlier this morning."
<This is crazy,> thought Blake. <It is just like the game I used to play.> "So that Rhyhorn and that Eevee, those are my pokemon?"
The professor responded, "Yes. They appear to already be attached to you. In fact, I think I can hear them coming down the hallway to you right now." Blake had heard a sound too, and when he turned around, he saw Rhyhorn and Eevee at the door with his packed backpack hanging out of Rhyhorn's mouth. "That was nice of them. It appears they packed up your mess as well. It really is nice having responsible pokemon," said the professor in an amused tone.
With that, Blake set out on his journey.
Blake walked along the path to Viridian City with his Eevee and his Rhyhorn by his side. It was a really nice day, so Blake figured he would let his pokemon enjoy it as well. Eevee and Rhyhorn both appeared to have fun, as Eevee ran around smelling flowers and Rhyhorn stopped from time to time to munch on grass. "Well," Blake said, "I guess it will not be tough to keep you fed Rhyhorn. You appear to be a grazer. I really should give you two names." Blake though for a second. "I know," he said "Rhyhorn, your name will be Cody, and Eevee, your name will be Xander." Cody and Xander nodded their heads in agreement.
I woke up to a crowing sound. It didn't sound like any ordinary rooster. I was feeling much better compared to yesterday. Most of my wounds were gone.
"Gible." The little creature said yawning.
"Ri Ri!" The other dog like creature said stretching. I saw two other people laying in the other two beds with small other creatures. I quietly walked out of the room with the two little animal things followoed my out of the door. I walked down the hall into what appeared to be the lobby.
"Seems like you've recovered nicely." The professor looking old guy said.
"Yes, surprisingly I have." I said. "Don't know how though."
"Don't you know that Chanseys can heal pretty much anything?"
"Who?" I asked curiously. "Where am I?"
"Your in Kanto of course and this is Pallet Town, I'm Professor Oak."
"Professor Oak huh, what are you a professor of?" I asked. He seemed kind of shocked.
"You mean you've never heard of me?" He screeched.
"I'm sorry Si- I mean Professor, never heard of you?" I stated, sounding kind of embarassed.
"I'm a Pokemon Professor." He said.
"Pokemon Professor?" I asked, sounding kind of dumb.
"Are you from here?" He asked. "Those are Pokemon." He pointed to the Alligator and dog like creatures.
"Oh yes, I know now." I said. I remember someone on my team that played this game. I remember him telling me about it, but very few details.
"So your here for your Pokedex right?" He said. "I see you already have your Pokemon." He handed me a small computer like device and two red and white balls. "Click the middle button to enlarge the ball." I did as he said and the ball enlarged it self. "Now touch both Pokemon with a ball." I knelt down and did as he said. I lightly tapped their heads and a red beam of light sucked them into the balls.
"What just happened." I asked, sort of startled.
"That's where they rest, they are now your partners." He said happily. "So are you going attemp to beat the Elite 4?"
"Yeah I suppose so." I said, recalling what that was. I knew you'd had to get badges from gyms.
"Here's a map and 5 pokeballs and 5 potions to get you started." Professor Oak said. "You should head over to Pewter City to battle the Gym there."
I still had several questions, but I figured that they will get answered in time. I thanked thr Professor and headed out the door. I walked out of the town and through the Pokeballs to the ground, releasing the two Pokemon. I openedthe Pokedex and it said "Gible, the small Land Shark Dragon Pokemon it attacks with it large mouth. Its known attacks are Dragon Rage and Sand Tomb."
"So you're a Gible huh!" I said. It jumped up excitedly. "I'll call you Rex." It continued to jump up and down. I then shifted my attention towards the dog like one and used the device again.
"Riolu is a fighting type who can use the power of Aura. Its attacks are Quick Attack, Endure, Counter, and Force Palm.
So you're a Riolu, I'll call you Sylar." It yelped happily and hugged my leg. "So you guys can use attachs huh?" They both nodded and Rex opened its mouth and a colorful mist came out. "That must be Dragon Rage" Riolu jumped up and it glowed white and it moved extremely fast. "Dang that was quick."
"Well let's get moving guys." We headed down the road towards the next town.
Blade "Stryker" Tien
Sandgem Town
Professor Rowan was sat at his desk, looking over reports of Pokemon he had collected. At the sound of the door opening, he swiveled round in his char, and saw Stryker stood there. Rowan sighed.
"What are you doing here? You better not be after my Pokemon..." Rowan said, softly.
"Umm... I'm Stryker, and I would like some Pokeballs and a Pokedex." Stryker said, smiling.
"Whatever for... you're much too-" Rowan began, but stopped upon seeing the Munchlax and Riolu stood next to Stryker. "I'll be right back with the Pokeballs. Five enough for you?"
Stryker watched as Rowan rushed out the back, and came back moments later with five Pokeballs. Rowan handed them to Stryker, who used two of them to keep Ikaru and Ize in. Stryker muttered his thanks, and rushed back to the Pokemon Center.
"Ahh... Mister Stryker, the Starly has recovered, you can collect her now."
Stryker rushed into the med-bay, and held a Pokeball in his hands, and threw it at Starly, the Pokeball opened, and sucked Starly in, wobbling from side to side two times, before stopping. He had a Starly. He smiled to himself, and placed the Pokeball on his belt.
Blake
Route 1, Kanto
The sun beat down on Blake as he, Cody, and Xander marched along Route 1. "It is a good thing there is a clear path here," Blake remarked to his pokemon. "I don't have a map, so we need to stick to the path." His pokemon nodded their heads and continued down the path. "Now if I remember correctly, not many pokemon can be found along this route. I think the only species native to this area are Rattatas and Pidgeys. However, we can never be too careful. Other species could easily have wondered into this route."
After about 15 minutes of walking, Blake came accross his first wild pokemon, or perhaps his first flock of wild pokemon. A group of five Pidgeys were ahead of Blake, searching the ground for food. "Now if you two want to grow strong," Blake said, "You need to gain experience fighting. Cody, you attack the Pidgey in the front with a Horn Attack. Xander, you use a Quick Attack on the Pidgey just behind the one in front." Blake's pokemon took off. Cody charged the Pidgey in front, who upon seeding the charging Rhyhorn, jumped in fright and flew up to a nearby tree. Xander was more lucky. His Quick attack took the other Pidgey completely by surprise. This Pidgey was blasted back a few feet into the dusty road. Xander proceeded to beat up on the Pidgey he was already attacking. Cody on the other hand charged into the remaining three pidgeys, who scattered in every direction, flying away as fast as they could. "Good job Xander," said Blake. "Cody, I realize that you have a lot of power, but you need to work on your speed and timing." Both pokemon acknoledged Blake's remarks with a nod of their heads.
The three of them continued along Route 1. After about five more minutes, Blake saw another pokemon. "Its another Pidgey! Cody, it is your turn this time. Attack with a Take-down." The Rhyhorn charged the Pidgey. The wild pokemon saw Cody, but instead of flying away, it ran into the tall grass alongside the road. Cody charged in right behind the Pidgey. Both pokemon were now in the grass, and Blake could see neither one of them. After a couple of seconds, Blake heard a series of thumps, yelps, and crashes. A couple more seconds passed, and then Rhyhorn ran out of the grass and down the Route faster than Blake had ever seen it run before. The Pidgey was right behind Cody, flying away with a fearful look in its face. Xander and Blake just kept staring, not fully understanding what was happening. It was then that a herd of male Nidorans and Nidorinos charged out of the grass in the direction of Cody and the wild Pidgey.
Xander and Blake took off after the herd, but it was running far faster than either of them. Blake saw the herd run over Cody and the wild Pidgey before running back into the grass. "Cody!" yelled Blake, but he had nothing to worry about. Rhyhorns were tough pokemon, and Cody got off the ground and walked to Blake as his trainer approached. The Pidgey had not been so lucky. It was laying, weak, alongside the road. Blake glanced over at the Pidgey and an idea came to his mind. He unclipped a Poke ball from his belt and threw it at the Pidgey. An intense red light appeared that engulfed the wild pokemon, pulling it into the red and white ball. The Poke ball wiggled a couple of times and then lay, still.
"Yay!" yelled Blake, "We just caught ourselves a Pidgey!" Rhyhorn and Xander cheered. "Well lets not waste any more time. We should try to get to Viridian city before nightfall." The three of them continued along Route 1. Cody was very tired from being run over by the herd of Nidos. After about an hour, Cody could no longer continue, and Blake was forced to recall him into his Poke ball. "Well Xander, its just you and me now," said Blake, "We should try to make it to Viridian city soon so we can heal all of you guys at the Pokemon Center. We also need to come up with a name for Pidgey." They continued along Route 1, unsure of what adventures would await them...
After three hours in the hospital, the doctor ahd two nurses came in to look at Robert's injuries. "Well, everything seems in cood condition. The stitches will remain in place for a few weeks until they dissolve. Just don't strain yourself otherwise you might rip one of them out by accident." the doctor spoke.
Once all of the wires and IVs were removed, Robert sat himself up in the bed slowly. Robert stayed seated for a good five minutes, allowing his body to reorientate itself. he didn't need to black up when standing up. When he felt ready, Robert stood himself up and took a few steps. there wasn't any pain, and he didn't feel drugged or numb.
One of the nurses handed Robert some folded clothing and some shoes. "Professor Birch took the liberty of getting you some new clothes, since you'd look pretty out of place with the stuff in your backpack." The doctor spoke.
Robert took the clothes and placed them on the bed next to Yinepu and Lilly. "Thanks. Where is my stuff by the way?" Robert asked.
"Down at the front desk. Some of your stuff was already destroyed and had to be thrown out, but everything that wasn't ruined is there. of course we had to confiscate your ammunition. While you didn't have a weapon on you, people aren't allowed guns without special permits, and you do not have one. Those will have to be retrieved from Officer Jenny at the police station." the doctor spoke.
"Alright. Thank you for everything." Robert spoke as the doctor and two nurses left the room. Robert quickly changed into the new clothes: a white long-sleeved button up shirt, khaki tan pants, underwear, socks and black sneakers, along with a belt that had four pokeballs attached with enough space for two more pokeballs.
Once he was fully dressed, Robert walked out of the hospital with his two pokemon partners. With his rucksack and remainign gear strapped to his back, he was one his way to Littleroot town, the place where Professor Birch lived and worked.
The hike took a good two hours, by which time it was just after noon. Littleroot was a rather small, quaint village. A few houses spattered across the landscape and off in the distance a large lab-like building. "Looks like that's the place." Robert spoke as he looked at his Riolu and Ralts. From there the trio headed up to the lab.
The door was open, and Robert could hear voices inside the building.
"That's right Professor Oak. At the site of the disturbance I found a young man from another world. Quite frankly the poor guy was in such bad shape we had to rush him to the hospital." Robert could tell the voice was Professor Birch's as he listened in.
"I see. I've run into a few people myself down here that don't seem like they came from this world. It might have to do with the intensifying troubles in the wake of team Galactic's attempts to take control of Palkia, Dialga and Giratina. the upset might have caused temporal rifts in the dimensions that these people ended up being pulled through." Professor Oak replied over the video conference screen.
"Yes, I've run into a few myself as well. I suppose we can presume that these phenomenons must be happening world-wide. While the monitors have only shown about sisteen of these disturbances, it would be wise to investigate further." Professor Rowan spoke over the conference screen.
"Easier said then done. That group calling themselves Team Omega have been running rampant over Johto and have been launching attacks on the towns and the wild lands. Our hands are pretty tied up on my end, but I will try to keep watch here in Johto for more disturbances." Professor Elm said.
"Well, all we can do for now is try to help the people that came through. Some may not want to go back to thier word, and for me that's fine, but others might want to return, and we should help them." Birch spoke. After several long minutes of conversing, the screen shut off and the conversations came to a close.
Robert walked into the room and gave a wave to Birch. "Hello professor. I hope you don't mind me just waltzing in, but your door was wide open." Robert spoke. Lilly was sitting on Robert's left shoulder while Yinepu was stanging at Robert's right side.
Professor Birch chuckled lightly and shook his head. "Not at all. I'm glad to see you're feeling better, and that the clothes I left for you fit alright. now here, take these. These will help you as you explore this world. The Pokenav has maps of all of the known regions along with town maps and other useful gadgets. And this is a pokedex. With it, you can identify and collect data on pokemon. It also serves as your means to enter the Hoenn League once you collect all eight gym badges in the Hoenn region, pokemon contests and it also serves as your idenitification." Professor Birch said as he handed over the two items to Robert.
Robert took the items and attached them to his belt. "Thank you professor for everything. I don't want to take up your time, so I'll get going." Robert said as he waved farewell to the professor.
As Robert walked along the path back to Oldale, the conversation he overheard huanted him. "So, looks like I'm not the only one this happened to, and all of this was pretty recent." Robert said to himself as he walked down the road.
Alex on his way towards the ilex forest.
Alex now had his Pokemon safely in their new Pokeballs. he started walking out of the town and slowly the large buildings, the cement roads and the large group of people where replaced with large green trees, grass fields, and a very small group of hidden Pokemon.
after some ten to fifteen minutes of walking there was hardly any pollution in the air . Alex took a deep breath of fresh air as he felt the loneliness taking over his body. ''i sure hope there are people in ilex forest'' he thought to himself as he walked through the woods.
he missed his family and his friends. ''they are probably still at school unaware of me being here''.
after a couple of miles of walking ''finally a town'' he said as he headed towards a mart to buy a bottle of water. one bottle of water please
the cashier looked at him and smiled here you go. that will be 100 pokes.
Alex checked his wallet and realized all his money was gone and had been replaced with what he could only assume was a 2000 poke bill. here you go
and 1900 back. there you go.
thanks, bye
bye
Alex headed out off town. a large man with a black trench coat and a weird voice suddenly appeared.
where are you going and why are you going so fast.
''im going to the ilex forest a friend of mine told me to go there.'' alex was scared for his life. he thought he was going to get kidnapped but the fear for eventually disappeared
well ilex forest is far away from here. but i know a short cut. if you just follow this path here straight forward it will take you directly to the ilex forest. the man pointed at a heavily wooded area that seamed as if nobody had walked there for ages. there weren't many Pokemon there but the few that could be seen where dark and scary if you are up for it that is. that route will save you about a day or two of walking distance.
ALex though for a moment before finally saying screw it. i have done crasier things in my life. onix, elekid go i might need you and im getting a bit lonely
ooc: if any of you are not ok with me taking a short cut please let me know
Trenecko, Hoenn, Petalburg
Nurse Joy came out about an hour later with the Surskit in her arms. As soon as she saw Trenecko, the pokemon bounced out of the Nurse's arms and skated across the floor to her, greeting her with a cheery cry.
"Surskit!' She chirped brightly. Trenecko smiled, as did Joy and Brendan.
"I think she likes you." Nurse Joy said, almost laughing as the Surskit hopping into her lap and folded herself up. Trenecko picked her up and looked at Brendan.
"Thank you, Nurse Joy." Trenecko said, then "Let's go." she told Brendan. The boy stood and walked out of the pokemon center, then out of the city with Trenecko, Kit and the Surskit. On their way trough the area, Brendan looked at the Surskit in Trenecko's arms.
"She really does seem to like you, you said you were from a different world, maybe you were really meant for this one, Trenecko. Pokemon really seem to like you, even wild ones--I've never seen a wild pokemon hop so willingly into a huaman's arms." He said, Trenecko turned to him and shrugged, frowning.
"Maybe, but why was I not born in this world, then? And the rest of my family, why...?" She replied, thinking soully of Grey, her older brother. She missed him so much now that she thought about it.
"I don't know, but there must be a reason...don't look so down! We'll talk to my dad and see what he says. Like I said, you aren't alone, though. Dad and Norman found a guy around here. Maybe you know him, maybe not. He was relly beat up, though." Brendan said as they came out into Oldale. The two didn't stop, just kept pushing on through the next road, when they both spotted a blonde man with a Riolu and Ralts with him. Brendan waved to him.
"Hello there, I haven't seen you around here before, I'm Brendan Birch, who are you?" He asked brightly, Trenecko stood back. Maybe she was meant to be in the world, but she didn't really belong in it. She, Kit, and the Surskit all just watched shyly as Brendan greeted the guy--he looked pretty rough. Oh well, if he wanted to fight, Trenecko would gladly try to beat him up, but for now she would wait. Instinctivly, she tugged down on the brim of her baseball cap to hide her eyes.
-=Robert, Oldale --> Petalburg City=-
Robert looked up as he saw two people walking down the path towards him. One of them was dressed up in a strange sort of way, but Robert recognized the outfit as that of the male hero in the ruby/sapphire/emerald games. One was the child of the Petalburg gym leader Norman while the other was the kid of Professor Birch. "So you must be Professor Birch's kid. name's Robert, pleasure to meet you." he spoke before looking at the girl Brandon was with. "And who is your girlfriend if I may ask?" Robert spoke in a calm yet lightly jestful tone of voice.
Both Trenecko and Brendan blushed, looked at each other, then looked quickly away.
"She's not my girlfriend!"
"He's not my boyfriend!"
Trenecko and Brendan shouted at the same time, causing the duo more embarassment. Kit bumped against Trenecko's leg, yipping excitedly. the Surskit blew bubbles into the air and let out a cheery cry.
"My name's Trenecko Inui." Trenecko said, sounding miserable and looking down at the Surskit in her arms, who had become fascinated by the bubbles it had blown. Mizu. If she stays with me, I'll call her Mizu. Trenecko thought, calming her down a little. In order to calm herself down further, she began mumbling in Japanese, the language calmed her, though she and Grey always reverted to English when they didn't need to use Japanese, which had made friend's visit's to her house interesting. Now she was looking up at robert from under the brim of her hat. "Nice to meet you too, Robert." She mumbled, then went back to Japanese. Brendan cocked his head and looked at her.
"What kind of language are you using? I don't recognize it at all" He asked, referring to her mumblings. Trenecko blushed in response, thankfully he couldn't understand her.
"Japanese. I'm bilingual, I can speak two different languages from my world. I died in a country called Japan, but I was born and lived in a place called the United States." She said, not caring if Robert thought she was just going on with sneseless babbling.
Robert blinked a bit, but then gave a nod as he listened to the girl speak. "I see. I overheard the professor saying there were sixteen phenomina around the pokemon world, and so far people like me were popping into existance here." Robert spoke as he brought a hand up tostroke the head of his Ralts. "I was born in the US and died in Baghdad during Opperation: Iraqi Freedom. My convoy fell under attack and I had a rather close meeting with a grenade while I was helping load the wounded onto the designated evacuation truck. Needless to say things didn't go well. But your father was one of the three who found me, along with Norman and his son Max." Robert explained to the two.
Robert chuckled a bit as one of the bubbles touched his Riolu on the nose and popped, making the Riolu go cross-eyed for a bit. "By the way, this is my Ralts Lilly and my Riolu Yinepu." Robert said as he introduced his pokemon to the pair.
Trenecko murmured, then looked at Kit by her feet.
"My Vulpix is Kit, the Surskit doesn't have a name yet, as I'm unsure of whether or not she'll be staying with me. We're headed to the pokemon lab, where it seems you've already been." She said, Brendan reached out to her, but stopped.
"Yeah, we're heading to see my dad. So you're the man he found, I'm glad to see you're up and getting around--he said you looked pretty bad off." Brendan said.
Tsubasa Hwoarang
Pokémon - Pikachu & Riolu
Bag - 5 Pokéballs, 5 Potions, 1 Pokédex
Location(s) - Pallet Town, Kanto to Route 1
“One of a Kind – Kind to one! Part I”
It was quiet in the first Route. Nothing much seemed to be going on. Or at least not right now. Tsubasa was amazed as he saw several different kind of Pokémon. The Pokémon he saw were Pidgey, Spearow, and Rattata. Tsubasa wasn’t aware of it just yet, but he was going to encounter one of his favorite Pokémon. It was rare to see in the wild as well. Tsubasa was half way through the first route, but he had to go through a lot before getting to this point…
Before getting where he is now, Tsubasa had battled Spearow, Pidgey, and Rattata. He didn’t catch any of them. He forgot he had Pokéballs. He swore though that he’d use a Pokéball on the next Pokémon he saw nonetheless. As they walked, they saw the same Pidgey that they battled earlier, on the ground in front of them. It seemed injured.
“Are you alright?” He asked the Pidgey in worry. He took his bag off and reached into it. There was a potion and he sprayed the Pidgey. As he was doing that a Rattata was sneaking toward the bag. It stole ten berries from Tsubasa. Rattata were known to steal food from travelers especially when they had fallen into their trap.
Riolu immediately noticed the Rattata and tried to charge at it. The Rattata dodged and Riolu fell. Tsubasa looked behind and ran to Riolu; helping him up to his feet. He then turned his attentions to Pidgey. Pidgey was standing up tall and didn’t seem injured.
“You aren’t injured at all!” Tsubasa shouted at the Pidgey. The Pidgey used Sand Attack and forced Tsubasa to fall back along with his two Pokémon. The Pidgey and Rattata readied themselves to escape, but Tsubasa picked up Pikachu and helped Riolu to his feet. Luckily, they weren’t injured. Tsubasa didn’t expect them to be after such a petty attack anyway. Tsubasa was mad that he had fallen for the two wild Pokémon’s tricks. It was awkward being outsmarted by Pokémon. He felt that he should’ve been more cautious in the real Pokémon world. Now what were the three going to eat on their way to Viridian? They rested a little and then continued on their way. Nevertheless, their fear had come into play. Their stomachs began growling, signaling that they needed to eat.
After ten minutes, they noticed the Rattata and Pidgey from earlier. This was their third encounter. However, this time Tsubasa, Pikachu and Riolu decided to actually work as a team and battle them. No matter how hard it could be.
“Pikachu, use Thunder Wave on Rattata!” Tsubasa commanded. Pikachu nodded and jumped off of its trainer’s left shoulder. Rattata was caught and it couldn’t move because of the effects of Thunder Wave which was paralysis. Tsubasa noticed that they didn’t eat all of their berries and sighed in relief. Again, while the trio wasn’t paying attention, Pidgey used Sand Attack. A small twister formed of sand and wind surrounded the trio. Suddenly, they all jumped out of the twister; dirt all over them. They brushed the dirt off of them and Tsubasa pointed at Pidgey.
“Now Pikachu, use Quick Attack!” Tsubasa shouted; giving Pikachu another command. Pikachu nodded again and took off at an amazing speed towards Pidgey. Pikachu hit Pidgey with a strong quick tackle. Pidgey seemed to be strong and endured the hit. Rattata was still paralyzed, but still wanted to fight. Pidgey jumped in its way and put its wing in front of Rattata. Rattata nodded and hesitantly ran away. It didn’t take the berries with it, which was a plus. This had changed from a two on two battle to a one on one. Pikachu stared into the beady eyes of Pidgey.
Pidgey seemed somewhat anxious to get this over with and attacked Pikachu first by flapping its wings to get into the air and flew at the small Electric Mouse Pokémon. It was unexpected and the Pidgey hit Pikachu with full impact or like they would say in the Pokémon games, critically doing a lot of damage. Pikachu fell to the ground hard from the unexpected attack. Meanwhile, Pidgey was already readying itself to use Tackle once more. Pikachu was slowly getting back up when Pidgey just knocked it down again. Tsubasa was getting nervous; he didn’t want to see Pikachu get injured. However, he knew it wouldn’t allow Tsubasa to grab him and run away. Pikachu was in it to win it!
An anime sweat droplet could be seen on the right side of Tsubasa’s forehead as he clenched his fists. Pidgey then used Sand Attack, blowing Pikachu in the air and used Tackle once again. Tsubasa didn’t know what to do. This was his first intense battle. Wild Pokémon weren’t as easy to beat in person like they were on the video games. He forced himself to come back to his senses and started to give try to encourage Pikachu to continue on. “Pikachu, get up! Win this one for the both of us!”
Pikachu eyes were closed tightly but when hearing the voice of its trainer, it immediately jumped up. Pidgey flew at Pikachu again, using the same old Tackle. Pikachu was prepared this time around though. It jumped up and landed on Pidgey’s back. “Now, use Thundershock!”
With that command, Pikachu closed its eyes and let out a lot of electricity. This battle seemed to be over, Pidgey was definitely unconscious. Tsubasa wasn’t going to just let such a tough Pidgey to get away. He threw an empty red and white Pokéball at the Pidgey and watched as it began shaking left to right. It did this approximately three times before stopping. The red light on the button in the middle of the Pokéball faded. Tsubasa smiled and jumped up in excitement.
“We caught our first Pokémon!” He yelled enthusiastically. He was joined in the air by Pikachu and Riolu. He picked up Pikachu and spinned around in circles. Riolu felt somewhat jealous because it didn’t get to do anything. He wanted to be held and spun around just like Pikachu. Alas, it was a mature and patient Pokémon. It knew all too well that it’d have its time in the spotlight. Tsubasa walked over to the Pokeball and picked it up. He didn't know it, but he still had ways to go before he was out of this Route. And the Pokemon he had just caught was not that one of a kind that he was going to end up catching before he made it to Viridian City...
Amy Mercy - Hoenn Region
Current Location: Littleroot Town - Birch Lab
As the sun moved it's way across the clear blue skies, and into the horizon - casting the skies in a beautiful orange glow. Along the dust trail, Amy kept a jogging pace behind the dark, doglike Pokemon.
Clutching the star in both of her arms, she glanced up to catch another glimpse of a small village - consisting of only six houses, and a large building containing many windows - several with one way mirrored glass.
As the two entered the clearing between the houses, the small hound turned towards the odd building out, before pawing at the large doorway with a low growling.
"Rrr...grr Rrrr!" it rumbled, turning it's head towards Amy, and the star-shape as she trotted up behind it.
"....? In there?" she posed the question, reaching over the Pokemon's head towards the doorhandle, and pushing it open to gain access to the facility.
Upon entering, the sight of several complicated looking machines, test tubes, and a desk towards the end of the building - where sat a slightly large man wearing a labcoat, shorts and sandals - seemingly hard at work.
The mystery man ran a hand through his mahogany locks, before banging a hand down on the desk in frustration and reaching for a bottle of correction fluid to dab it across his notepad. Amy approached him from behind, the small skullcapped Pokemon following quietly at her side before quietly speaking in an attempt not to startle the man.
"Um...s'cuse me sir...?"
Suddenly the man leapt to his feet - spilling the correction fluid across the desk with a cry of error before turning towards the young redhead, his face a portrait of shock, before his eyes drifted down to the injured star Pokemon - his eyes widening at the gradual flashing of the colored core.
"A Staryu!....-" he announced, reaching for it much to the chagrin of the hound by Amy's feet, who growled protectively with it's back arched in an attempt to appear larger "It's injured...hey hey hey!!" he exclaimed towards the growling creature beside the young lady. "I won't hurt it, I am going to treat it for you." taking the Staryu, he motioned for Amy to follow him towards an examination table where he lay the Pokemon on it's back, and moved to retrieve a tray of several strange instruments that Amy could not make out, along with several spray bottles.
"Shame on you, how could you let your Pokemon battle to the point of exhaustion? What kind of irresponsible trainer are you?" indignantly inquired the Professor, as Amy reached down to pick up the dark furred hound from her feet, and clutched it against her chest as it curled up comfortably.
"He-...hey...trainer? Pokemon?...Can you like...explain?" she frowned, as the Professor's gaze wandered from the Staryu to the creature in Amy's arms that began to growl at his tone.
"Pokemon...the Houndour you are holding, and this Staryu are Pokemon...say..." he paused, glancing down at her attire, and then refocusing on the Staryu "...You must be...another one of them...caught in the tear of time and space. You aren't the first one to come here today, so allow me to save you some time."
"My name is Professor Birch, and I am a Pokemon researcher specialising in Habitat and Distribution. You're in Littleroot town of the Hoenn region. Now, this is going to be quite a lot of information, so please try to keep up..."as he spoke, his hands busied themselves with checking the Staryu's body, and occasionally spraying a sweet smelling formula onto it as Houndour and Amy both watched intently whilst Birch filled her in on the world of Pokemon, and she also told him who she was and the story of how she came to meet the Staryu and Houndour in the confrontation with Jesse and James of Team Rocket.
"That's funny...I read in the newspaper that Team Rocket were disbanded some time ago...could they be trying to ressurect the organisation...Hmm...I shall inform the police department first thing in the morning. However, I have an idea..." pausing, he gave Staryu one last checking over before leaving the examination table, and returning with a black canvas backpack, a sleeping bag, six spheres - similiar to the ones Jesse and James had used and a small red palmtop.
"While you are here, I think it would be an excellent idea for you to see and experience the world of Pokemon - with Houndour and Staryu by your side, I would say you have an excellent head start over trainers who begin with just one Pokemon. Here in Hoenn, several towns contain places called Pokemon Gyms, where a powerful trainer resides. Upon defeat, you will recieve a badge and once you collect enough, you can compete in the Hoenn league. Although, there are also events known as Pokemon contests where you and your Pokemon can attempt to impress the judges into earning ribbons and trophys. It is a pleasant alternative to full on battling..."
At that point, Amy cut him off as she mulled over the information in her head.
"A Pokemon pilgrimage...if you like - is a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet new friends, and have plenty of exciting adventures! Now this..." he picked up the small red device and flipped it open to reveal a small screen and several buttons. "This is a PokeDex, it contains information on every discovered Pokemon in the entire world. Simply point, and presto!"
Birch pointed the small device towards Houndour first, and after a moment, an image of it appeared on the screen and a digitised female voice began to emanate from it.
"Houndour. This fire Pokemon conveys its feelings using different cries. It works in a pack to cleverly take down prey, and utilizes powerful fire and darkness attacks"
Next was Staryu's turn.
"Staryu. The core of this water Pokemon shines in a rainbow of seven colors. A core that is valued by some as a type of jewelry."
Amy glanced between Houndour, and the newly energised Staryu with a faint smile twitching her lips before Professor Birch began to pack the sleeping bag, and Pokeballs into the backpack - though he left two out, and rolled them across the table towards Amy.
"Now, these are PokeBalls - they are used to keep Pokemon safe, and out of harm's way if they are injured. They are also used to capture wild Pokemon after you battle, and weaken them to the point of capture. Be careful Amy, you might be able to make it to Oldale town to stay at the Pokemon centre overnight - but I suggest you make haste before it gets too dark."
Amy Mercy - Hoenn Region
Current Location - Route 101 Littleroot Town - Oldale Town
After giving her thanks to Birch, and obtaining a map of the surrounding towns, Amy had set off north towards the first point on the map - marked as "Oldale Town". As with Littleroot town, there were no real points of interest aside from several houses and a 'Pokemon Centre'.
Blade "Stryker" Tien
Sandgem Town
Stryker left the med bay, and as he was leaving the Pokemon Center, he was stopped by Nurse Joy.
"Umm... Mister Stryker, there is no person under your name on record anywhere. So, are you sure that is your name?" Joy asked, staring intently at Stryker.
"Yes, I am sure that I have given you the right name." Stryker replied nervously.
"Oh, all right then, I just thought that maybe you had made a mistake."
Stryker left the Pokemon Center, and immediately set off to leave Sandgem Town. He remembered seeing his son watching Pokemon, the anime, and realised that everything was kind of like the anime, which meant, he could catch Turtwig, Chimchar and Piplup, and he could encounter them almost anywhere if possible.
Stryker passed a small patch of water, and was suddenly hit by a jet of water. After wiping his face, he looked for his assailant, and saw an orange Pokemon that looked a bit like a fox, with a flotation device around its neck, and a twin ended tail. A Buizel if Stryker remembered correctly. He smirked, gripping a Pokeball in his hands tightly.
"Go, Ikaru!" Stryker shouted, throwing the Pokeball containing his Munchlax into the air.
"Munchlax!!" Ikaru shouted, seeing the Buizel, and getting into a battle pose.
"Use Metronome!" Stryker shouted.
Ikaru laughed as he wagged his fingers from side to side, a small sphere appearing in front of him. An Aura Sphere. He sent it flying at the Buizel, and the Aura Sphere hit the Buizel right in the chest. Buizel went flying through the air, and crashed into a tree. Buizel got back up, and growled angrily, shooting towards Ikaru, water swirling around it. It was using Aqua Jet.
"Dodge and use Metronome again!" Stryker commanded.
Ikaru dived to the left, narrowly avoiding the Aqua Jet, before wagging his fingers from side to side again. This time, a Hyper Beam shot out of his mouth, and hit Buizel. Buizel went flying, and landed in the water. Buizel growled again, shooting a jet of water at Ikaru.
The jet of water, a Water Gun attack, hit Ikaru in the face, drenching him in water. Ikaru shouted his anger, and slammed his body into the Buizel. Buizel went flying through the air, slamming into the tree, and falling to the floor. Its eyes were shaped like X's.
Stryker pulled out a Pokeball, and threw it at the Buizel. The Pokeball hit the Buizel, and a red beam shot out of the Pokeball, pulling it into the Pokeball. The Pokeball waggled from side to side, once, twice, three times. Then stopped. Stryker cheered, rushing forward to pick up the Pokeball. He held it in his hands, before placing it on his belt, and took Ikaru's Pokeball back off his belt, and returned Ikaru.
"Nice job, buddy." Stryker said, smiling.
Leo/
Current Location: Route 101
Destination: Viridian City
I was examining the map the Professor gave me so that I could make my way to the nearest town. Viridian City appeared to be the closest on the map, and it was en route to Pewter City, where our first gym awaited us. Several questions ran through my head such as: "How did I get here? Why ami here? Will I ever go back?" and many other questions. I didn't really care if I went back since I had no family there anymore. Both my parents had died already and I hadn't talked to my older brother in like five years. Being here wasn't so bad for the time being. I actually preferred it. The only thing that worried me is if my team back in Iraq suvived the attack. I hoped they did.
"Gible!" Rex shouted and jumped into my arms.
"What's up buddy?" I asked him. He just shrugged his shoulders and looked foward, staying in my arms. It's okay I guess, I'll carry you.
"Ri Ririri!" Sylar said rubbing his stomache.
"Oh, you're hungry right, come to think of it I don't remember the last time we ate anything." I said aloid. "I don't have any food."
"Riii!" Sylar shouted and motioned for us to follow him as he went off path and into the forest. I followed him and we continued running. I saw a pink Pokemon with horns and got out my Pokedex. Nidoran the poison point Pokemon, they usually travel in herds.
"That's pretty cool." I said, continuing to follow Sylar.
"Riiolu!" Sylar cried out. It was pointing to a tree. The tree appeared to have berries, small blue ones, and the tree adjcent to it had yellow ones. Riolu jumped into the tree and shook them both, causing many berries to fall out of the trees. There were two piles of berries and about a dozen in each. Sylar continued shaking them and a worm with a horn fell on my head. I quickly shook it off. It looked angry.
"WEEDLE!" It grunted. I quickly brought out my Pokedex. Weedle, the poison Pokemon, they are usually the Prey of a lot of other Pokemon. Watch out for their String Shot and Poison Sting attacks.
Rex jumped out of my arms and stood in front of me. Guess it wants to battle. The Weedle did not waste any time. It opened it's mouth and pink needles shot out of it's mouth and were going straight for Rex and I.
"Rex, dodge and use Sand Attack!" I shouted. Rex swiftly dodged the Poison Sting attack and kicked up sand at the Weedle. "Great, now use Dragon Rage!" Rex ran towards the Weedle, with it's mouth wide opened. The Weedle jumped up into the air using it's thread. It then used String Shot on Rex, stopping Rex right in his tracks. Rex tried to squirm out. The Weedle then used Poison Sting at Rex. It hit him directly. "Come on Rex, break out of it." Rex thrashed about trying to get out of it, the finally tore the silk apart. Weedle shot more at Rex, but he was ready for it, dodging it and useing Take Down, slamming the Weedle into the tree. The Weedle was motionless. I took out a Pokeball, enlarged it and threw it at the Weedle, hitting it in the head. The red light took in the Weedle and the ball shook once, then twice, then a third time. Then a clicking sound was heard and the Pokeball stopped moving.
"Looks like we caught it." I cried happily. I walked over and picked up the Pokeball. Rex roared and jumped into my arms with a grin on his face. Sylar stood in front of me with a sad look on his face.
"It's okay buddy." I said picking him up. "If it wasn't for you I would've never caught my first Pokemon."
"Riio!" He said happily. Sylar picked up the berries and put them in my bag. We each ate two of the blue berries.
"Well let's get back on the road and continue our quest." I suggested. They both nodded and we headed back towards the road.
I saw many Pidgey flying above followed by some bigger birds that looked like an older speices of the Pidgey. We had finally got out of the forest and were back on the road.
"Alright guys, let's continue to Viridian City." I said. "We need to get some training in so you guys can get stronger."
They both cried happily and nodded.
-=Robert, Hoenn=-
Robert chuckled a bit. "Well I may have survived the blast, but I still had shrapnel in my arms and legs, and the cuncussion was strong enough to knock me out." he explained as he looked to his pokemon. "Well, I'll head to Oldale and book a room at the Pokemon Center for the night. After that I'll head over to Petalburg and meet with Norman. Seeing pokemon battling on TV and on a game screen is one thing. I'm going to have to learn how to do it for real if I want to get good at it and start syncing with my pokemon." Robert spoke with a smile.
"I'll see you later if you're hheading into Oldale later after meeting with the Professor. if not, then I'll pry see you two around." Robert spoke before he and his pokemon began heading down the road and back to Oldale.
Once Robert had gotten himself a room at the Pokemon Center, he pulled out his pokedex and looked at the two pokemon before him. "You two are related you said before. But I always thought that a female pokemon could only give birth to her own species, regardless of the male's species." Robert pondered.
<Well things work a bit differently in this world. This isn't your tv or video game.> Lilly replied telepathically. Robert merely chuckled.
"Yeah that is true." Robert spoke before scanning Yinepu with his pokedex. "So, you know Quick Attack, Endure, Couter and Force Palm." he spoke before then scanning Lilly. "And you know Confusion, Magical Leaf, Teleport and Calm Mind. Well, tomarrow we should get in some practice before I go and talk to Norman." Robert spoke as he sat down on the bed. Lilly and Yinepu crawled up onto his lap and smiled, both snuggling close to Robert, who wrapped his arms around the two.
Tsubasa Hwoarang
Pokémon - Pikachu & Riolu
Bag - 4 Pokéballs, 5 Potions, 1 Pokédex, 5 Berries
Location(s) - Pallet Town, Kanto to Route 1
“One of a Kind – Kind to one! Part II”
Tsubasa, Pikachu, and Riolu continued on through Route 1, leading to Viridian City. However, they didn’t get far before Riolu and Pikachu showed how tired they were and convinced Tsubasa to take a break from all of the walking. Tsubasa figured that he should let Pidgey out of its Pokéball so that it could spend some time with him and its two partners. They just hoped that Pidgey accepted being caught.
Before they could start eating, they heard a Pikachu scream. In a flash, it began raining and they saw a swarm of Spearow. Tsubasa remembered this moment. It was in the First Episode of the very first season of Pokémon. Then they saw a huge thunderbolt. The thing that made it so powerful was the Thunderbolt. Tsubasa couldn’t believe it. He was going to meet Ash Ketchum.
After the rain stopped and the clouds dispersed, Tsubasa looked up and noticed a rainbow. It wasn’t just the rainbow that had caught his attention but the Legendary Pokemon, Ho-Oh. He decided to let Dextar give him some information on this one. “Ho-Oh is a phoenix-like bird with red being its dominant color. Ho-Oh also has yellow tail-feathers, a white underside, and green feathers at the tip of its wings. Ho-Oh has a green stripe on its neck, a yellow beak, black rings around its eye and a feathered-crest. Ho-Oh's wings are prismatic, causing it to trail a rainbow behind it.”
Tsubasa was looking at the Pokedex the whole entire time noise came from it. This was just too real. He loved every moment of being in this world. He ran towards where he saw the Thunderbolt earlier and saw an injured Pikachu and its trainer lying on the ground. That trainer was none other than Ash Ketchum. Tsubasa’s Pikachu, Riolu and Pidgey got closer to the duo and tried to help them up. “What’s going on?”
Ash obviously didn’t know where he was at the moment. Tsubasa ran up to Ash and his Pokemon. Tsubasa was about to shake his hand and tell him how much he looked up to him, but decided not to. He didn’t want to make things weird. Professor Oak was well-known, so it wouldn’t seem awkward if someone knew a lot about him. However, he acted like he knew Ash and such; he’d begin to get curious. The young man originally from Los Angeles, California did not want to speak of what had happened to him. “Hey, are you alright?”
Ash Ketchum nodded and smiled weakly. “Yeah… I am. But, Pikachu isn’t looking so good. Oh, by the way, my name is Ash!” He said extending his arm and hand. After a couple of seconds, Tsubasa touched Ash’s hand and they began shaking hands. “My name is Tsubasa. I’m just starting my Pokemon journey.”
Yeah, so Tsubasa knew that’d grasp Ash’s attention, so what? “Really? So am I! Maybe we should travel together!” Ash exclaimed. He then picked up his Pikachu and began running towards the Pokemon Center. “Sure! I’ll meet you in Viridian soon!”Tsubasa shouted to him… This was getting more intense every second.
“Well guys, no time for breaks. Let’s keep on going through this route. No breaks until we reach Viridian City’s Pokemon Center,” Tsubasa said to his three Pokemon. He returned Pidgey and smiled as Pikachu began climbing on him until it stood on his left shoulder. After that, they started walking. Approximately fifteen minutes passed before the trio were at the end of the route, but without warning, an Ember attack was shot at them. It came from the mouth of a Charmander.
Charmander, a reptilian creature resembling a bipedal salamander with some dinosaur qualities. Its most noticeable feature was the flame burning on the tip of its tail, which was there at birth. For some reason, its flame burned fiercer than it did for other Charmander. Right then, Tsubasa knew that he would have to go through a lot to beat it. It is said that if Charmander’s flame goes out, the Pokemon dies. Despite the small size of its claws and the cute look on its face, Tsubasa knew that being in this world; it should be regarded with caution.
“Alright then, let’s try this! I choose you, Pidgey!” Tsubasa shouted. He was going to try to get some experience for Pidgey. It was strong and could endure a lot. He expected it to beat Charmander. “Pidgey, use Sand Attack!”
Pidgey began flapping its small wings, making grass and dirt fly towards Charmander. It didn’t seem to be affected by this much. Charmander immediately reacted by jumping up and running towards Pidgey fast. It wasn’t slow at all. Pidgey didn’t wait for an order, its instincts told it to use Tackle which was what Tsubasa was going to command it do anyway. Pidgey flew at Charmander, but Charmander ducked and Scratched Pidgey on its belly. Pidgey winced in pain and fell to the ground. Once there, Charmander was able to easily finish it off with an Ember.
“Pidgey, return!” Tsubasa shouted. He was definitely impressed with how powerful the male Charmander was. To Tsubasa though, the stronger the better!
“Riolu, it is your turn to show Charmander what you’re made of!” Tsubasa yelled. Riolu nodded and jumped in front of its trainer. Pikachu was watching intently from Tsubasa’s left shoulder. Tsubasa wasn’t going to have Riolu make the first move, which was too risky. Instead, he waited and waited until Charmander attacked. After a couple of seconds, it did; using Ember. “Riolu, use Aura Sphere!”
Riolu extended its right arm and opened its hand. A blue spherically rounded ball of energy could be seen in Riolu’s hand. When the flames coming from Charmander got close, Riolu released it. The Aura Sphere went directly through the flames and hit Charmander directly. Riolu, whom was determined to impress Tsubasa wasn’t going to lose. “Now Riolu, use Force Palm!”
Riolu dashed towards Charmander and had Tsubasa and Pikachu shaking. It was faster than Pikachu which was a shock. Charmander was getting up, but it was too late. It was hit in the stomach by a powerful thrust. Nevertheless, the Charmander wasn’t unconscious. It just couldn’t move. That was because Force Palm’s effect went through for them. When using Force Palm, it can sometimes cause paralysis. In this case, it did on their first try… Tsubasa immediately threw a Pokeball and watched as the Pokeball shook more than six times. It stopped and the red light on the button in the middle of the red and white ball faded; signaling a successful capture.
Tsubasa grabbed Riolu and spun it around like it had done Pikachu a while ago. It smiled as its goal or dream was met. Then, Tsubasa ran to go pick the Pokeball up. They noticed a girl with orange hair dash past them and remembered that they were supposed to meet Ash at the Pokemon Center. Tsubasa had made it to Viridian City and he already had four Pokemon.
Blake
Route 1
It was mid-afternoon, and the sun was beating down on Blake and his Eevee, Xander. Blake was headed to Viridian city along Route 1. As they walked along the dusty path, Blake glanced down at Xander and noticed that the pokemon looked very hot and tired. Xander's ears were drooping and his body was covered in sweat. "Lets stop for a break. I think we both need it," said Blake. They walked to a tree that provided some shade along the path and sat down beneath the leafy branches. "I have some food here we could eat. We are going to need more energy if we ever want to reach Viridian." Xander nodded his head in agreement, and Blake dug into his backpack, taking out some snacks. "Cody and Pidgey should get something to eat as well. They both have had a tough day."
Blake unclipped two pokeballs from his belt and opened both, releasing the Rhyhorn and Blake's newly aquired Pidgey. Cody still looked exhausted from his battle earlier that day, but Pidgey looked relatively fresh...at least as fresh as a Pidgey can look after it has been run over by a herd of Nidoran and Nidorinos. Both pokemon were happy, however, to get some food.
After the rest, Blake and his pokemon continued their journey down Route 1. Whenever he encountered a wild Pidgey or Rattata, Blake was sure to give Cody and Xander some experience in battling. The Rhyhorn and Eevee gained a lot of combat experience, but they also tired out quickly, and as Blake got closer to Viridian city, he had no other option but to return them to their Poke balls for a rest.
"Well Pidgey, now is your chance," Blake said when a wild Rattata popped out of the grass along the road. "I know you have never fought before, but this is an opportunity to give you some combat experience, plus Cody and Xander are both exhausted, so I really have no choice but to fight with you. Just follow my directions and you should be able to beat up on this Rattata. Pidgey nodded his feathered head and hopped off Blake's shoulder, onto the path in front of him.
The wild Rattata charged Pidgey with a Tackle. "Now Pidgey, fly into the air," yelled Blake. Pidgey took off right before the Rattata hit him. The wild pokemon flew into Blake, who had been standing behind his Pidgey, knocking the trainer over. "Now Pidgey," yelled Blake from the ground, "Use a Gust attack." Pidgey flapped his wings ferociously, creating an intense gust of wind that sent the Rattata flying over Blake and into a rock behind him. "Now, finish Rattata off with a Tackle." Pidgey flew straight at the wild Rattata, who was still slumped against the rock and too weak to react. Pidgey hit the Rattata head on, sending the pokemon flying into the tall grass alongside the path.
"Good Job Pidgey," said Blake, as he stood back up. Pidgey chirped happily and then returned to Blake's shoulder. It was then that Blake saw a massive thunderbolt down the path in the direction of Viridian City. "What was that!" exclaimed Blake, as he took off down the path with Pidgey struggling to keep up with him.
A couple minutes later, Blake came across a whole flock of Spearows, laying on the ground unconscious. Down the path, Blake could see two boys, two Pikachus, a Red-haired girl, and another pokemon that Blake recognized from Professor Oak's laboratory. The group was running in the direction of Viridian City. Blake knew that he and his Pidgey were tired, so he decided not to give chase. Instead, Blake and his Pidgey strolled down the path and arrived in Viridian City about thirty minutes later.
As Blake arrived at the end of the route, he saw a trainer ahead of him, in an intense battle with a wild Charmander. After squinting his eyes, Blake recognized the trainer as the same one he had seen running away from the flock of unconsious Spearows. Running past the trainer was the same Red-haired girl that Blake had seen earlier as well. With his Pidgey on his shoulder, Blake walked up to the trainer, who had just caught the Charmander and done a congradulatory dance with the Blue and Black dog pokemon that Blake still could not identify. As he got closer, however, a startling realization came to Blake. This was one of the two trainers that Blake had shared living accomidations with at Professor Oak's lab. That is why Blake had recognized the dog pokemon. It was the same one he had seen that night sleeping by its trainer. Blake also recognized the Pikachu that was with the trainer. It had been there that night as well. As Blake approached the trainer, he introduced himself. "Hello. I'm Blake. I remember you from Professor Oak's lab that night after I arrived in Pallet Town. Whats your name?"
The wind whipped wildly around the Braxton Manor, the expensive lawn chairs being thrown around, leaves whirling in cyclones in the night. A dark figure struggled against the gust towards the luxurious mansion. It scaled the lattice behind the house, towards one of the balconies on the second floor.
Once there, the figure twisted the elaborate doorknob, and opened it slightly. The wind’s force blew the door all of the way open, slamming into the wall behind it with a harsh crash. Dropping to the floor as the person sleeping in the large canopy bed bolted upright, the thief looked frantically for a place to hide. The bedroom was very spacious, with nowhere to hide without being seen.
Reaching for a stolen nightstick attached to his belt, the thief army-crawled across the soft carpet to the bed. He rose as the boy in the bed was about to cross his room to close the door, which he assumed to have been blown open by the severe wind. A smile crossed the burglar’s face as he swung the nightstick, hitting the boy, Asher Braxton, right in the temple.
However, as soon as the club made contact with the teen actor’s head, he seemed to explode with light. A strong force tossed the thief across the room, knocking him out as he hit the wall. The blinding light was gone, and so was Asher.
Asher Braxton
Outside Violet City
A small flock of Pidgey were picking at some fallen berries around a tree, when a blast of light shown appeared right where they were eating. They flew away, frightened. The light dimmed, revealing Asher Braxton. His head pounded, it felt as though it would split.
Asher took in his new surroundings, puzzled. “I’m d-d-dead, right? This can’t be happening!” Thinking back to some other movies he’s seen, he pinched himself on the left arm. Sure enough, it stung his skin. He stood up, his head throbbing as he did so. Looking down at himself, Asher realized with a it of embarrassment that he was wearing the silk pajamas that he wore at night.
Looking to his right, there was a sparkling blue lake and mountains farther in the distance. On the left, there was a rather steep hill, with a person at the top of it. Asher took off up the hill, calling, “You there! Hey!” The person did not look at him, annoying Asher a bit. “Listen to me when I talk to you! Look at me!” He was hollering at the top of his lungs now, but the person, who Asher could see was dressed in a white coat, remained facing away from him.
Now at the top of the hill as well, Asher strode over to the mousy-haired man in the white coat, poking him in the back. “Sir, excuse me,” Asher asked politely. He had to put on his nice-boy act. The man turned his head to face Asher, a bit of an annoyed look on spectacled face. He did a bit of a double-take at Asher, wondering why someone would wear pajamas in the afternoon.
“Would you be quiet?” he whispered. “I’m trying to get these two! You don’t see a Smoochum in these parts too often.” Asher’s eyes showed a bit of anger as the man impatiently shushed him. However, he complied.
“A what?” Asher asked, his voice in a whisper too. The man pointed at a fat little creature quickly waddling away. Its stubby tan arms were outstretched, balancing the creature. Its short blonde hair swaying as it walked. “What is that thing?” he asked.
“That’s a Smoochum. You really don’t know?” The man seemed to be a bit happy to explain something. “That Pokemon over there, those two weeds? It’s attached to a red spot. That’s a Hoppip.” The man gave a giant grin, as though he won an award for explaining that.
“What did you call that?” Asher asked. He thought he heard right, but he had to ask.
“It’s called a Hoppip. H-O-P-,” he began to say slowly.
“No,” Asher snapped. Asher noticed his own unpleasant tone, and corrected it. He asked in a more polite, interested voice, “Before you told me it was a Hoppip. What is a Hoppip?”
“Oh come on! It’s a Pokemon! It’s not a very new species anymore. Are you from Hoenn or something?”
Asher’s eyes widened. He couldn’t believe it. Pokemon? The stupid man must be senile. There was no logical way. But, there was no logical way for Asher to show up here anyway. He figured he would play along. “So a Smoochum, huh? I’ve never seen one before,” Asher smiled.
As soon as he said its name, the short fat animal turned around, a smile on its fat pink lips. It toddled quickly to Asher, and planted a big kiss on his leg. The man laughed, saying, “She seems to like you a lot. Oh, here comes the Hoppip too.” Sure enough, the reddish-pink ball hopped its way to Asher, landing on his head. The two weeds on its head swayed in the gentle breeze.
The man gave another chuckle, and held out his hand. “Hi, the name’s Elm, Pokemon researcher.”
Asher shook Professor Elm’s hand, introducing himself as well. “Asher Braxton, pleased to meet you, sir.”
Professor Elm looked at the Smoochum, still locked around Asher’s leg, and the Hoppip on his head. “You know, I think they like you. They aren’t worth the trouble of me catching anyway. You have them.” He reached into his pocket, and pulled out two tiny red and white balls. He handed them to Asher, and explained what to do. “It’s a pokeball. You have seen these before, right? Just press the button in the middle to make it expand, then throw it at whichever Pokemon you want to catch. It’s easy, trust me.”
Asher pressed the button on one of the pokeballs, and it grew to become the size of a baseball. Then, he dropped it onto the Smoochum’s head, and with a burst of light, similar to what brought Asher here, engulfed her.
Once she was sealed within the pokeball, Asher picked it up and stuffed it into his pajama pocket. He then took the second ball, pressed the button once, and then pressed the button onto the Hoppip. The same thing happened to it, and then Asher stuck the ball into his remaining pocket.
The professor gave a big smile, and then dug into his pocket again. He began to speak as he fumbled around. “You know, if you’re going to be a trainer, you’re going to need a Pokedex.” He looked up for a second, looking at Asher’s confused expression. “It’s a little computer that gives you information on Pokemon. Wait, you do have money, right?”
“Of course I do!” Asher reached into his pocket and pulled out a leather wallet he never took off of him, even at night. He reached inside, and pulled out eight one-hundred dollar bills and a credit card.
Professor Elm looked at the money and plastic card, getting extremely close to it. “What kind of money is that? Whatever it is, it’s not going to work here.” He sighed, and finally pulled out a little red device with a flip screen, and a bunch of foreign money. “Here, this’ll get you by for now. Maybe you can get some actual clothes and a backpack…Violet City is just a fifteen minute walk to the left from here. Go shopping there.”
Asher took the Pokedex and money from Professor Elm and put it away. “Thank you Professor! Have a nice day!” He gave a wave, which the professor returned. As soon as the professor turned around, the smile faded from Asher’s face. He began to walk to the left, like he was told to. Sure enough, houses and buildings seemed to rise from nowhere, and Asher stopped just outside of the gate. Reaching into his pocket, he drew out the pokeballs, and released his two new Pokemon. They both gave large smiles at their new master, like devoted fans.
Asher gave a big smile. “Heh, like devoted fans…Okay then, listen up. Don’t annoy me and we’ll be just fine. You got that?” Both Pokemon seemed content with this, giving squeaky laughs.
Location: Route 101
Destination: Viridian City
"Alright guys, we're almost there." I said, noticing the dark clouds in the sky. It began raining. "Argh, its raining and we're stuck out here."
We continued walking. It began raining harder and harder. A huge lightning bolt lighted the sky.
"I guess it's a pretty bad storm for lightning that big to happen." I stated. Sylar just shrugged. "Well it looks like the rain is going down. "Let's go rest by that pond over there guys."
"Riii!" Sylar cried happily and ran over to the pond and jumped in. I sat by a tree. Rex walked over to the bank and walked into the water, staying in the shallow area.
"Have fun guys." I shouted out to them. I reached into my pocket and brought out Weedle's pokeball. "Alright, come on out Weedle." I tossed the pokeball besides me and a red light flashed before my eyes, then when the light cleared Weedle laid next to me.
"Weeeedle!" It said happily. It wiggled over to me and jumped on my lap. I got a berry from my backpack and fed it to Weedle. It squirmed happily.
"Well looks like we're teaming up now." I said to him.
"Weedle!" It said jumping up and down on my lap. It used its Poison Sting attack in the air and I went down into the pond. A large water spout shot out of the water at the location where Weedle had shot its Poison Sting attack. A turtle like pokemon jumped out of the water and onto the land. It looked angry and in pain. I took out my pokedex and scanned the Pokemon.
Squirtle, the turtle Pokemon. Squirtle is a water type Pokemon that is fast in the water. It knows many moves such as Skull Bash, Water Gun, Bumblebeam, and Withdraw. "Wow, we've got to catch this Pokemon.
"Squirtle!" It grunted angrily. It opened its mouth at shot a powerful Water Gun at us. Weedle jumped out of my arms and I jumped out of the way. Weedle sent out a Poison Sting towards the Squirtle.
"Alright Weedle let's see what you got." I said aloud. Weedle nodded and followed the Poison Sting with a Sting Shot, tying the Squirtle down. I grinned and threw the pokeball at the Squirtle. The ball hit the wild Squirtle on the arm and the red light taking him in. The ball fell to the ground and shook. It shook once, then once again. "Looks like we got this." As I said that, the pokeball opened and the Squirtle came out. The grin on my face was off and it appeared to move onto the Squirtle. It opened its mouth and a cold beam headed straight for Weedle. The beam hit Weedle and Weedle was frozen soild.
"That must be an Ice Beam attack." I said angrily. The Squirtle lowered its head and ran at a fast speed towards Weedle. Sylar jumped out of the water and in front on the frozen Weedle. Sylar took the hit. Sylar flinched a little and then was in a fighting position.
"Use Counter Sylar." I shouted. Sylar ran at full force hitting the Squirlt with double the power Sylar was hit with. The Squirtle fell to the ground. It tried to get up but its side appeared to be hurting. It appeared to be the Poison Sting from earlier. The Squirlte was poisoned. I rushed over to the Squirtles side and picked it up.
"I'll take you to the nearest Pokemon Center." I said to the Squirtle. "Return Weedle." Weedle went back into its pokeball. I took off running. "Come on guys" Sylar and Rex followed me running close behind me. I saw a city up ahead and assumed it was Viridian City. I saw a huge PC sign and assumedit was the Pokemon Center. I rushed in and headed to the front desk. "I need you to help this Squirtle."
"Of course, we'll do everything we can." Nurse Joy said. "Chansey take this Squirtle to the back." I went to the waiting and waited for news on the Squirlte.
Randal Small
Sandgem Town.
Randal walked through the town. His new pokemon, Tyrouge and Yanma, were walking on either sid eof him. They kept looking at eachother, and then they would look away with an angry expression on their faces. Randal would look back even so often, to make sure they didn't fight. He walked to the north side of the town, and stopped looking at the road ahead. Both pokemon looked ahead as well, then at each other, then at Randal. Yanma was buzzing back and forth. "Okay, well, I don't know why I am here, or what to do. So, I think we should just keep moving forward!" He looked at his pokemon expactantly, turning around. But, they were no where to be found. He looked around frantically. he didn't remember returning them to their respective pokeballs, so where could they be?
Soon, he heard a loud crack and flipped back around. It was Tyrouge. He was practicing his moves on a tree and had effectively. Yanma was on the near-by water. She was staring at the water. Randal sighed and trotted over to them. Tyrouge kept hammering at the tree, like a karate chop but his hand was white. It was a brick break attack. *Well, that's a good move. We'll need that for later. Although, Yanma needs some focus...*As he said this, he heard some splashing, it sounded more than just playing around. He decided to check it out.
It was a man. He had a pokemon and it looked like he was fighting a wild one. He threw a pokeball and caught it. He thought it was just another person starting their journey. But when he examined his clothing, he didn't seem to fit in this world either. He stepped out and slowly approached. "Hey there. You just starting too?" Tyrouge and Yanma were hiding behind his legs, one on each.
OOC: Let's try this again, hopefully my dog won't paw the keyboard and delete everything this time...
Trenecko, Hoenn, Littleroot
Trencko felt better after talking to Rbert. It helped a little to know she wasn't alone, but it helped more when she actually met someone in the same predicament. Maybe she would try to meet back up with him tomorrow if she could travel at a decent pace and attempt to get him to let her travel with him. She didn't think Brendan would stick around with her after she left the lab.
"HeY Dad! I'm back!" Brendan called, breaking Trenecko out of her thoughts. She looked up to find herself standing in the pokemon lab slightly behind Brendan. It was darkening otuside, but they'd made it. The Professor turned around and smiled at them.
"Hello, Brendan, I was wondering when you would come back!" Birch said, then paused at the sight of Trenecko. "And who is your friend here?" He asked, Brendan walked up and handed something to his father without a word, clearly waiting for Trenecko to introduce herself.
"Trenecko Inui, nice to meet you." Trenecko said in a slightly more friendly tone than she had used with Robert, still sounding miserable.
"She is one more of the people caught up in the time-space phenomonon, Dad. I figured you'd want to see her and get her started out here. She already even has her first pokemon, it seems." Brendan filled in, figuring she wasn't willing to say anymore. Birch's face turned to an understanding expression.
"Ah, another? You're the third I've met out of probably four, Miss Inui." The Professor said, turning back around and pulling out a few things before walking up to her. He held out a thin red and white box-like object to her, it reminded Trenecko of a DS, but she knew what it was and took it.
"Here is you pokedex. It will allow you to collect information on the pokemon you find while traveling Hoenn." He informed her, then produced two pokeballs. "If you want to, use these to catch that Surskit and Vulpix, or would you like a more traditional starter?" Birch continued. Trenecko took the pokeballs as well, and bent down to look at Kit and Mizu, as she had decided to call the Surskit.
"Would you two like to become my pokemon?" She asked, Kit and Mizu immediately let out cheery cries and tackled her, sending Trenecko falling back. Though it was just a tiny fall, Trenecko saw herself falling down the stairs again and screamed. Mizu and Kit jumped off her and Brendan bent down and yanked her up.
"Trenecko! Trenecko? What's wrong?" He demanded, Trenecko shok her head and let out a long sigh.
"The fall, I saw the fall again." She replied, then looked down at Kit and Mizu. "Sorry guys, I guess that was a yes?" she asked. Brendan shook his own head and le her go, then moved to talk with his father. Trenecko tossed the two pokeballs in her hand like she's seen in the show, Kit and mizu were sucked into the balls by a red light, and then the balls fell to the floor. They rocked for a few moments, then fell still. Kit and Mizu had been officially caught, and Trenecko wasted no time in letting them back out.
"Now, I'll give you a map tomorrow, but it's probably veen a long day for you, and it's getting dark. Would you stay at my house tonight?" Birch offered, Trenecko shrugged and then nodded.
"Sure, why not?" She said, Birch smiled and gestured for she and Brendan to head out. The to went outside to wait, and were soon joined by Birch.
Trenecko explained her story to the Professor and his family, ate, and then curled up on the couch with Kit and Mizu. She was asleep almost as soon as her head touched the borrowed pillow.
-=Robert, Hoenn=-
During the night, Robert decided to take a walk around the small town. As he wandered, he heard the sounds of several howls could be heard in the distance. While most would feel alarmed by the sound, it was a sound Robert loved. In his world, Robert was an avid wolf lover and spent many years volunteering his time to work with them. However, Robert also knew that this meant he was near or in a pack's territory. What the pack consisted of was debateble. Within moments, he was surrounded by a pack of Poochyena, but there weren't any Mightyea around. Lilly hopped off of Robert's shoulder, but Robert caught her and placed her back on it.
"Lilly, there's nothing you can do right now. These are dark-typed pokemon and they are immune to psychic attacks. However, they are weak to fighting types like Yinepu. Still though we need to be careful." Robert spoke as he looked at the Poochyena around him.
The Poochyena barked and growled several times. <Robert, that one's saying that trainers are all alike. That they use and hurt thier own pokemon and then abandon them when they are no longer useful. She wants to free Yinepu and I from you.> Lilly spoke, translating the Poochyena's barks, growls and emotions.
Yinepu snarled and looked to Robert, waiting for the command to attack. Instead Robert shook his head and knelt down before the leader of the pack. "You think all humans are like that? You must have suffered terribly." Robert spoke before holding out a hand to the Poochyena. The Poochyena bit into Robert's hand. Yinepu went to attack, But Robert stopped him with his free hand before looking into the Poochyena's eyes.
"We aren't all bad. There are some that truly do not deserve to have pokemon partners, but there are many more who care for thier pokemon, support them and do whatever it takes to keep thier pokemon friends happy." Robert spoke. He did not pull away from the Poochyena or try to free his hand. Eventually the Poochyena let go of his hand. Robert took out from his back pack a tube of antibacterial cream and a while sterile cloth wrapping, treating his hand.
Robert then looked back to the Poochyena leader. "Let me prove to you that I am that kind of trainer. Come and join us." Robert spoke with a calm and humble tone of voice. Riolu and Ralts still seemed defensive, ready to protect Robert should the pack make any move to attack Robert. After five tense minutes, the Poochyena leader walked up to Robert and began licking at his bandaged wound, nuzzling it as if appologizing. Robert smiled and took out an empty pokeball. he expanded it and set it next the to Poochyena. The wolf-like pup looked at it and pressed her nose agianst the button, letting it swallow her up with the red light. After several moments, the red light was gone, confirming the capture. The pack began to slowly back away before retreating back into the woods.
Upon reaching the pokemon Center, Robert headed up to the guest room and began to settle in for the night. He released all three of his pokemon and took out his pokedex to check on his newest friend. "Alright, I will call you Lotus. And I promise I'll take good care of you, just as i do for these two." Robert spoke with a pleasant smile. With that, he and the other three would drift off to sleep until morning.
Amy Mercy - Hoenn Region
Current Location - Oldale Town Pokemon Centre
As night began to fall over the small town, Amy found her way to an average sized building with a large "P" mounted above the doors - which were wide open to allow the pleasant night breeze into the lobby, where behind the reception desk stood a young, magenta haired woman wearing a white nurses' apron.
As Amy quietly entered, her backpack from Birch slung over her shoulder she approached the desk, and shone the woman a bright, cheery smile.
"Good evening Nurse...um..." she paused, leaning forward to take a peek at the name badge. "Nurse Joy. I apologise for intruding so late, though I was informed that I would be able to spend the night here?"
The nurse glanced up from the computer monitor, and returned Amy's smile with one of her own.
"Do not worry, Pokemon Centres remain open most of the night, much like hospitals!" replied Nurse Joy, tapping several more buttons on the computer keyboard with a faint frown overtaking her warm smile.
"Oh dear...I am afraid our final guest room has just been occupied by another trainer...though you are more than welcome to sleep in the waiting area, we have several comfortable sofas, and I will go and fetch you a blanket and pillow."
Amy tilted her head, retaining her own smile. "That is more than adequate, thank you very much".
And with that, she bowed her head towards the Nurse, who left the desk to walk down the tiled hallway towards a storage closet, and a large pink, egg-shaped creature took her place at the desk, wearing a nurse cap, and a large egg in a pouch on it's belly.
"Chan...sey!" it spoke cheerfully, turning to point one of it's stubby arms towards the waiting room.
Amy tilted her head in bemusement, before withdrawing her Pokedex from her bag, and pointing it towards what she assumed was another Pokemon.
"Chansey. This kind, and gentle natured Pokemon walks carefully to prevent it's egg from breaking, yet it is very fast at running away."
"Chansey!" piped up the nurse Pokemon again, nodding it's head in recognition before rounding the desk to lead Amy towards the waiting room politely, and even fluffing up the couch cushions and setting up a makeshift bed as Joy returned with the pillow and blanket.
"Thank you Nurse Joy, and Chansey..." smiled Amy, bowing her thanks before sitting on the couch to remove her shoes, though she then reached into her bag, and withdrew the two Pokeballs containing her Staryu and Houndour.
"May my Pokemon rest with me? I can't help but feel they are terribly constricted in there..." inquired the redhead with a faint frown, which was soon shifted as Joy nodded her head with a smile, and turned to leave towards the reception once again, Chansey at her side.
Tapping the small button on the front of the spheres, Amy released the two Pokemon from their confines. Houndour hopped up onto the sofa, and Staryu leant it's body back against the couch with it's core exhuding a soft, gentle pinkish glow.
Once Houndour was nestled comfortably, Amy arranged herself on the sofa so as not to disturb the peaceful, yet fearsome looking Pokemon, resting her head in her palm as she glanced around the room, before glancing to Staryu, and the sleeping Houndour with a quiet sigh.
"What a funny day..."
Spain, Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art
The Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art was a lovely tourist spot that attracted thousands of people in there. It was elegantly made up for amazing pieces by Spain's Finest painters. Khalid was there with this girl he met recently in a little cafe, Her name was Michelle. It was all very innocent and Khalid thought she was a pretty little number and he also needed a tour guide since he was pretty new around these parts. He had only be traveling Europe for about 5 months now and it was still very new to him. He looked at his company and smiled gently, She was pretty cute and he did like her. Khalid never intended to find a girl while on his travels. It was purely just experiencing different types of culture. He had been at the museum for over two hours and he was getting pretty. Michelle turned to Khalid and began speaking, Khalid took off his headphones and began to listening to her. "I'm going to the restroom, I'll be right back, sweetie." Her fingers trailed down Khalid's chest as she smiles mischievously walking away. He grinned looking at her walk away, admiring the back of her. He walks over to one of the large stained windows and looked outside overseeing the citizens going on with their daily lives. A brand new culture Khalid was experiencing and it was great. He sort of envied them for living here and leading a totally different type of life. Khalid noticed something up in the air, it was an airplane flying fairly low. He was intrigued by it, anyone would be if you lived on earth in 2009. All the things that have happened in the last few years, even you would be a bit on edge. Then a few more bigger airplanes began flying over the towns. It was quite a bit far from Khalid but he panicked and was horrified by it. He turned around desperately looking for Michelle to get out of here. The noise of explosions horrified him. It made me fear for his life, almost make him freeze in fear. He quickly screamed at everyone. "EVERYONE, GET OUT OF HERE, WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!". Everyone looked at him, confused. Oh, he clocked on that not everyone speaks English like he did. He pulled out his translation book and began finding the right words to say to them. Flicking through frantically another explosion was heard and seen smashing several windows and part of the walls. Everyone screamed in horror and began running for their lives. Khalid looked up and saw everyone know understood what was going on. He turned in another direction to see Michelle running towards him. The scene began to slow down. The noises of screaming tourist and people faded out, all there was Khalid and Michelle running towards each other. Then several bombs pierced the roof and came colliding down in between the two. It set off and everything that Khalid saw turned white! He was sent flying through glass and then eventually blacked out.
Pokemon, Sandgem Town, Sinnoh
For a few moments, everything was black for Khalid. He was meant to be dead but he wasn't. He awoke after a few seconds. Khalid was in a bit of pain, he had cuts and bruises on parts of his body. A couple glass bit were still on the outer skin. He seemed severely hurt. He was now laying on the floor a grassland, It was weird but he didn't question it because he had other things on his mind like to get medical attention and his date Michelle. He needed to find out if she was alright since he is. He tried getting up but it hurt if he got up too quickly. He slowly got up, he then looked around noticed he wasn't where he was before. Something is wrong. He began to panic as he got the strange thing he saw this very familiar. He was then startled by two little animals beside him. He looked down and saw what looked like a purple monkey and there other thing had a horn on his head. Oh, my goodness. He then realized he knew what they were. "Oh my god, YOUR POKEMON?!?!" He said squealing very loudly. He was very intrigued and scared about that realization because its not everyday you see something you grew up watching in living proof right next to you. He slowly looked at his surrounding and was kind of confused as to how he got here and what happened to his reality. He thought of Michelle and shed a couple of tears. His head fell down staring at the floor, He felt depressed at the thought that his reality could be diminished and the thought that his family could be in trouble worries him alot. He decided to get someone to look at those wounds. He began walking down this route and as he walked more he noticed the two pokemon were following him. He turned around and smiled. "Do you want to help me get better?" . The pokemon fell silent for a moment but they began chirping in their own language. "Aipom! Ai Ai Aipom!" said Aipom "Larv Larv Larvitar!" said Larvitar. Khalid smiled as the three began walking down the route to seek help.
They've been walking for about 10 minutes and they finally found saw someone. It was a girl with blue hair. He tried his best to walk quicker towards her but the injuries weren't helping him do so. He called out to her to get her attention before she disappeared in plain sight. "HEY, Can you help me!!" He said at the top of his voice before collapsing to the floor. The girl heard a noise and turned around to see Khalid and two other pokemon. She assumed he was a trainer and she walked up towards him, She saw him fall and quickly ran towards him and helped him back up. "Hey, are you alright?" She looked at him over and noticed the cuts and bruises and bleeding. "Oh my! You need to come in the Lab to heal up, Professor Rowan can you."
They both both arrived at the Lab of where Prof. Rowan resides with his studies for Pokemon Research. They walked upto him whilst Khalid sat down on a nearby chair. Prof. Rowan instantly noticed and ran to his side. "What happened son?" They began talking about the reasons of his injury and what his reason for being here. Khalid explained to them that he wasn't of his world and explained that he doesn't know why how he got here. "Well, thats an interesting story young man. Well, the two pokemon beside you seem to take a liking to you so i suggest you keep with you at all times because this world isn't any safer especially with Wild Pokemon about." Prof. Rowan said in a soft tone. He seemed to understand which was the most bizarre thing. Professor moved towards a table a brought out a small special potion. It helped the injuries Khalid had gotten. It didn't heal all at once but it would slowly heal, he just needed some rest. Khalid thanked the professor.
After a couple of hours of resting in Khalid thought it was time to discover this new world. Khalid went upto the girl named Dawn and the Professor as the two pokemon followed behind him. "Hey, uhh im going to head off and discover this new place. I think its pretty cool im here so im going to check it out. Thanks for everything." The Professor stopped him from leaving and gave a small smile to him before hmm for some strange reason. "..Before you leave we have something to give you since you need it.", He walked over the table and gave Khalid 10 starter pokeballs and a PokeDex. He then gave two additional pokeballs. "These are two pokemons that were following you earlier. You are now the keeper of them, congratulations. Khalid smiled and nodded. He then walked out but before he left he waved goodbye to them.
"I hope to see you guys again!"
Blade "Stryker" Tien
Near Sandgem Town, Sinnoh
Stryker smiled as he held the Pokeball containing Buizel in his hand. He thought of how, silly this must be, him, an adult, running around catching Pokemon! It was damn like his son. Michael.... Stryker clenched his hand that didn't have the Pokeball in, into a fist. He would get back home. To his son. Stryker's smile died down. What about his Pokemon? He couldn't just leave them...
Well, he would have to release them.... Suddenly, a Thunderbolt hit him, flinging him into the air. He smashed into a tree, and was dazed, shaking his head, before looking for his attacker.
"Looky what we got here. A guy who has a Munchlax and a Buizel! Let's take him out!" a man said, his black cloak flapping madly behind him.
A woman stood next to him, and she had a cloak as well, but it was silver. She cackled softly, gripping a Pokeball tightly.
"Yes.... Take his Pokemon after beating him... Go Arcanine!" the woman shouted, laughing as her Arcanine appeared in front of her.
"Go Golem!" the man shouted, throwing his Pokeball into the air.
"Great... A battle. Go Ize and Arch!" Stryker shouted, throwing two Pokeballs.
Ize, his Riolu, and Arch, his Buizel, appeared in front of him.
"Bui..Bui!" Arch shouted, readying himself for a battle.
"Ize use Aura Sphere on Arcanine! Arch, Aqua Jet on Golem!" Stryker growled.
Ize launched the Aura Sphere at Arcanine, the sphere smashing into it. It flew through the air, landing with a thud on the ground in front of the woman. She clenched her fists in anger, as Arch collided with Golem. Golem skidded across the ground, slamming into the man. Golem had X's for eyes, and so did the Arcanine.
"Damn... Oi, you, when we meet again, we'll beat you!" the woman growled, returning her Arcanine, and looking at the man.
"This isn't the last you'll hear of Alexander and Jessica!" the man, Alexander, shouted, returning his Golem.
The two ran off into the trees on Stryker's left, and Stryker sighed. That was when he spotted the Turtwig. He checked his belt, to see one empty Pokeball left. He groaned, rolling his eyes. He'd need to go to the store already!
"Arch, this is your battle. Use Water Gun!" Stryker shouted.
Arch launched a jet of water at the Turtwig, which dived out of the way, before launching a Razor Leaf attack at Buizel. The Razor Leaf smashed into the Water type Pokemon, and Arch nearly collapsed to the floor. Arch winced in pain as he stood back up, when another Razor Leaf attack came flying at him. He had no time to dodge as the Razor Leaf attack came at him. It hit him in the face, flinging him upside down. He landed in front of Stryker, who cursed under his breath, before returning Arch.
"Come on out Sai! Use Aerial Ace!" Stryker shouted, as Sai, his Starly, came out of her Pokeball.
Sai flapped her wings, shooting quickly towards Turtwig, and collided with it. Turtwig went up into the air, before landing on the ground with a thud. Turtwig got back up, and growled angrily at Sai.
"Turt...Wig!" Turtwig shouted, launching a Razor Leaf attack at Sai.
"Quick! Dodge it, and use Aerial Ace!" Stryker shouted.
Sai swooped to the left, dodging most of the Razor Leaf attack, however one of the leaves slashed her tail, and she screeched in pain. Sai shook her head, before swooping towards Turtwig, a glint in her eye. Determination. Sai smashed into the poor Turtwig, flinging it into a tree. Turtwig slid down, landing in a pile of leaves. The Turtwig had X's for eyes, and Stryker nearly laughed. He threw his last Pokeball at the Turtwig, and watched as the Pokeball hit the Turtwig, before engulfing it. The Pokeball wobbled once, then twice, before stopping. Stryker smiled. He had a Turtwig.
"I'll name you Island...." Stryker said, looking at the Pokeball he had just picked up.
Tsubasa Hwoarang
Pokémon - Pikachu & Riolu
Bag - 3 Pokéballs, 5 Potions, 1 Pokédex, 5 Berries
Location(s) - Pallet Town, Kanto to Route 1
“Friendly Arrival!”
Tsubasa was so proud of Riolu. Thanks to him, he had acquired the strongest Charmander ever. This was one was strong enough to wipe out Ash’s Pikachu, Pidgeotto, and Butterfree with ease. However, he didn’t think of how a battle between him and his favorite Pokémon character would turn out. Tsubasa decided to return Riolu into its Pokéball for the first time so that it could rest. Unlike Pikachu, it had to walk on its own two feet. Before Tsubasa could actually step into the city, he heard a voice that he couldn’t recognize. “Hello, I'm Blake. I remember you from Professor Oak’s lab that night after I arrived in Pallet Town. What’s your name?” [AUfan quote]
When Tsubasa turned around, he remembered the boy’s face from Professor Oak’s Pokémon Research Lab. As the boy introduced himself, Tsubasa smirked. “I remember you too. The name’s Hwoarang. Tsubasa, Hwoarang.” Tsubasa reached out his hand and shook Blake. He was going to be sure to remember his name. Tsubasa wished he had the time to talk, but he had to get going. He made a promise to Ash. He was going to journey with him and Misty. “Maybe we’ll cross paths sometime later… it was nice meeting ya!”
With that being said, he ran towards Viridian City’s Pokémon Center. Tsubasa walked up towards the entrance and the doors slid open almost immediately. With Pikachu standing happily on his left shoulder, Tsubasa ran up to Nurse Joy. “Hello, welcome to Viridian City’s Pokémon Center! Do your Pokémon need to be healed?” Tsubasa nodded; handing three of his Pokéballs to her and then Chansey came over and gently grabbed Pikachu off of his shoulder.
“Um, did you happen to see a boy wearing a red and white baseball cap? He had an injured Pikachu…” Tsubasa questioned Nurse Joy. Her smile changed to a frown. It was obvious that Pikachu had some serious injuries. She then told him that he was in the waiting room. He was on the phone and was talking to his mother. Tsubasa stood behind him; waiting for him to get off.
“Hello, this is the Ketchum residence,” The woman said. This lady was none other than Ash’s mother, Delia Ketchum. She looked beautiful. If only he was an adult. Not to mention she had skin cream on. Any woman who could still look beautiful wearing that means something. “Hello, mom?” Ash responded in a questioning tone. His mother squealed in joy and took the face mask off and the towel covering her hair.
“Hi honey, is everything okay? Where are you Ash?” She asked with a smile on her face. “I’m at the Pokémon Center in Viridian City.” Ash explained; his facial expression being emotionless.
“You’re already in Viridian City? It took your father four days to get there when he first started Pokémon training.” She informed him. Ash was definitely respectful. He listened as his mother spoke and never interrupted her. Reminded Tsubasa of him. “Oh, he’ll be so proud… you’re the apple of his eye!”
“Yeah, a rotten apple,” Ash said in response. Nevertheless, his mother was quick to attempt to cheer him up. “Oh, Ash, don’t get discouraged. You’re doing fine! Honey, you’re growing up right before my eyes. Spreading your wings and soaring like a Spearow!” Tsubasa smirked and sat down beside Ash in front of one of the other Phone, computer things. He didn’t think a Spearow was the best Pokémon to talk about after what had happened. He almost laughed at Ash’s next comment.
“I feel more like a fallen Pidgey…” He said in a monotone voice. She seemed to get mad because of the way Ash was talking about himself. In Tsubasa’s mind, he was saying the words as the two spoke. He knew everything that was going to happen. However, he was there to add more excitement into the mix. “Ash, I won’t let you talk about yourself that way! Just be confident! You can do anything that you set your mind to. Do you understand?” Heh, spoken like a true mother.
“Yes,” Ash said in response yet again. “And, are you changing your underwear every day?” She questioned him. Of course, his answer was yes, but how could he prove it? They never showed it on television, but then again, who would want to see that? “Okay… goodnight son! I love you!” She said in a warm, relaxing voice tone. All Ash could say to that was ‘me too mom and good bye.’
He knew better than to continue on and on about how bad his journey started. All he would get is a lot of encouragement speeches. Tsubasa looked towards Ash and smiled. “Hey, man.” Ash seemed to cheer up slightly. “Hey…”
“How’s Pikachu?” Tsubasa questioned. Ash looked towards the door that Chansey and Nurse Joy rushed Pikachu through. Behind those doors were the emergency rooms. “I don’t know…”
Tsubasa stood up and put his hand on Ash’s shoulder. “Trust me, he’ll be fine. Just believe in him. Right, Pikachu?” Tsubasa said encouraging with a smile and then questioned his own Pikachu. His nodded and said its name in a joyous tone. It seemed to give Ash somewhat of a comfortable, reassuring feeling. It was then that Ash knew that he and his Pikachu were similar to Tsubasa and his Pikachu. This was the beginning of a great friendship.
((OOC: This rp takes place long after thr D/P series. Those events from the early pokemon series already happened long before this.))
-=Robert, Oldale, Hoenn=-
Robert woke up as the light pierced through the window. All of his three pokemon stirred from thier sleep and lept off of the bed so that Robert could get up. After a quick shower and some personal hygene, it was time for breakfast.
Down in the pokemon center cafeteria, Robert gathered some food for himself at the buffet table along with a few bowlfulls of different berry slices. After setting down his plate on the table, Robert sat himself down and looked at his three pokemon. Taking out a pen and a notebook, Robert drew himself a chart, listing the names of his three pokemon along the vertical column, and the types of berries he had taken along the horizontal top row.
"Okay, let's see what you all like best. At the very least I'll be able to see what berries to use when making your food." Robert spoke. He laid out five berry slices before each pokemon: a chesto berry, a pecha berry, a cheri berry, an aspear berry and a rawst berry. Each one had a different flavor to them. of course he had oran and sitris berries as well, but those were universally liked. Yinepu seemed to favor the sweetness of the pecha berry most, Lilly enjoyed the dry taste of the chesto berry, and Lotus had eaten all of them, which meant that the poochyena liked just about everything without preference. After that was done, Robert took the remaining berry slices and portioned them up accordinly, mixing oran and sitris berry slices in all three. After placing the bowls down for his pokemon, Robert turned to eat his belgian waffle and sausage patties, washing every few bites down with a sip of milk.
After breakfast was done, it was time to hit the road. After returning Lotus to her pokeball, Robert, Lilly and Yinepu headed out of the pokemon center with Lilly riding on Robert's shoulder. It was time to start heading towards Petalburg to meet with Nroman.
Blake
Viridian City, Kanto
“I remember you too. The name’s Hwoarang. Tsubasa, Hwoarang. Maybe we’ll cross paths sometime later… it was nice meeting ya!”
"It was nice meeting you too," Blake yelled as the trainer ran off in the direction of Viridian City's pokemon center. He seemed preoccupied with something. "It doesn't matter," Blake though to himself. "I should leave him to his own business." Blake thought for a second and then reached down to his belt, unclipping three Poke balls. "Come on out," yelled Blake as his Pidgey, Rhyhorn, and Eevee appeared in front of him. All three of them looked exhausted. "You guys need a trip to the Pokemon center, don't you," said Blake. The pokemon in front of him nodded wearily. "Alright then, follow me. Lets go find that Pokemon center.
Viridian City was big, but it was not hard to find the Pokemon Center. The large, circuler building stood in the middle of the city, easily the most noticable structure there. Blake entered through the automated front doors with his Pidgey on his shoulder and his Rhyhorn and Eevee at his side. The center was filled with trainers and pokemon. Blake managed to navigate his way to the front desk where a nurse with pink hair and a Chansey were stationed.
"Hello," said the nurse as Blake approached, "I'm Nurse Joy. Welcome to the Viridian City Pokemon center."
"Hi," responded Blake, "My three pokemon here need some rest."
"They do look rather exhausted. Please return them to their Poke balls and give them to me. We should have them healed within a couple of hours."
"Thank you Nurse Joy," said Blake as he returned Cody, Xander, and his Pidgey to their Poke balls and handed them to the Chansey. Blake then went to a nearby bench and sat down, wandering what to do for the next couple of hours. "Well I should probably buy some supplies," though Blake to himself. "I need to restock on food and get some healing supplies for my pokemon. I could also use a map." Blake then got directions from Nurse Joy to the town's Poke mart before heading off to shop.
As he walked to the Poke mart, Blake couldn't stop thinking about his Pokemon. Their fighting abilities had increased drastically as they fought one pokemon after another on Route 1. "Then again," he though to himself, "The only pokemon we fought were Pidgeys and Rattatas." Still, Cody and Xander had performed admirably in their fights, and they had both gained valueable combat experience. Blakes thoughts then shifted to his Pidgey he had caught. "I still need to come up with a name for him," though Blake. "Maybe Polly, yea, Polly is a good name for a bird Pokemon." Blake was still deep in thought when he reached the Poke mart, and, as a result, he almost bumped into a person loaded down with many bags of food and other goods as Blake entered the store.
Blake quickly found the medical supplies section and got several bottles of Potions, Antidotes, Paralyze heals, and Awakening. Professor Oak had given him plenty of money, so Blake bought everything he though would be necessary for his journey. "After all," though Blake to himself, "Better to be safe than sorry." He then walked to the food section, where he bought food specifically made for Rock-type Pokemon for Cody and normal-type Pokemon for Xander and Polly. Finally, Blake bought some food for himself before checking out, packing everything into his bag, and walking back to the Pokemon center.
By the time Blake had arrived back at the pokemon center, his Pokemon had been healed. Chansey returned Blake's pokeballs to him when he approached the front counter. "Thank you again," Blake said to Nurse Joy with a slight blush on his face. Blake felt a tingle inside him when he saw Nurse Joy, and he knew he was starting to fall for the hot, pink-haired nurse.
"It was no problem," giggled the Nurse, as she turned away from Blake to help another trainer. Blake stared at her face for a few more seconds before turning to the tray of Poke balls he was holding.
"Come on out guys," Blake yelled, as he opened up the balls releasing all of his Pokemon. The Pokemon looked healthy and refreshed. "Lets eat," said Blake, as he walked to a nearby table and got out some food he had just bought. Each of the pokemon's eyes widened as Blake got out their new food.
As they all ate, Blake informed his Pidgey of the name he had come up with. "Well Pidgey, what do you think about being named Polly? It seems like a good name for a bird-type Pokemon." Polly largely ignored Blake as he gulped down his food. Blake sighed. "I guess food always comes first..."
Blake and his pokemon slept at the Pokemon center that night, and woke up the next morning, refreshed and ready to continue their journey. After slipping some clothes on, Blake walked down to the Center's breakfast bar to find Cody, Xander, and Polly already chowing down on food. Blake got himself some food from the bar and walked over to the table his Pokemon were eating at. "You three could have waited for me," said Blake. "I don't even think Pokemon are allowed down here unattended to. I think if I'm going to let you stay out of your Poke balls, you have to stay with me." The three pokemon ignored Blake once again as they continued eating their Oran berries. "Ok guys, you need to listen now," said Blake, finally getting the attention of Xander, who nudged Polly and Cody to get their attention as well. "Thanks Xander. Now according to this map I picked up yesterday at the Poke mart, our first gym battle is just past the forest in Pewter City. That means we are going to have to get a lot of training in before then." The three Pokemon nodded their heads in unison. "I don't know what kind of Pokemon we will encounter in Viridian forest, but I need all of you to work hard."
A few hours later, Blake walked out of Viridian City, and on to Route 2, ready to face whatever difficulties awaited him on Route 2 and in the infamous Viridian forest.
Tsubasa Hwoarang
Pokémon - Pikachu; Riolu; Pidgey; Charmander
Bag - 1 Pokéballs, 5 Potions, 1 Pokédex, 5 Berries, 1 Map
Location(s) - Viridian City to Route 2
“Tsubasa Enters the Dark Deep Forest of Viridian!”
Tsubasa was exhausted. They went asleep earlier than they had expected. He was dreaming about going through all the same things as Ash for a while, but was wakened up by Nurse Joy. She was giving him a tray with three Pokéballs on it and then Chansey came along and gave Tsubasa his Pikachu. Pikachu was excited to see its trainer and was exceptionally healthy. Tsubasa stood up and watched Pikachu with a smile upon his face as it climbed up to his left shoulder.
The young man from Los Angeles, California and trainer from Pallet Town, Kanto grabbed his Pokéballs and released his Pokémon. Riolu, the emanation Pokémon was the first to run to Tsubasa. It wrapped its arms around Tsubasa’s legs and smiled. Tsubasa knelt down and rubbed Riolu behind its ears. The next Pokémon to rush towards Tsubasa was Pidgey, the tiny bird Pokémon. It flew around Tsubasa’s head for approximately ten seconds before landing beside Riolu. Finally, the last Pokémon he had in a Pokéball was Charmander, the lizard Pokémon. The flame on the tip of its tail was burning greatly. Nurse Joy and Chansey looked at its flame in awe.
“Wow… you must have taken great care of that male Charmander,” said Nurse Joy; complimenting Tsubasa. Chansey nodded and said its name three times in a row. He smiled and picked up Charmander and began spinning around. Charmander enjoyed this. It was probably Tsubasa’s strongest Pokémon physically. It looked strong enough to take on an Infernape head to head and it definitely wasn’t scared of a challenge. Tsubasa returned all of his Pokémon except for Pikachu whom was still standing on his left shoulder and was about to leave.
“Thank you for all you’ve done, Nurse Joy. And you too, Chansey!” Tsubasa said with a wide smile. Chansey hugged Tsubasa and Nurse Joy nodded. She then handed to Tsubasa a Map of the Kanto Region and some food. The food wasn’t cooked, but he was a good cook. He would cook both Pokéfood exclusive to his Pokémon’s type and food for himself. He walked out of the Viridian City’s Pokémon Center and towards Viridian City’s PokéMart.
The young Pokémon Trainer got to the PokéMart and bought things he thought he’d use the most. He got five more potions and 5 more Pokéballs. After buying what he needed, he walked out and headed down the path to Route 2 immediately. Tsubasa already knew what Pokémon he really wanted to catch. He wanted to have a lot of Pokémon so that when he switches out one type, he can put another Pokémon of the same type in his team. He intends to train them all, beat the Indigo Plateau, and become a Pokémon Master. That sounds somewhat familiar doesn’t it?
Tsubasa knew going through Viridian Forest was going to be a challenge. Especially at nights... he was going to be cautious. He didn’t want him or his Pokémon getting hurt. Tsubasa was also aware of Pokémon Trainers with Bug Pokémon in this forest. Good thing he caught Charmander early. It was going to be the X-Factor when it came to making it through Viridian Forest successfully.
“Hey Pikachu… what do you think we should catch next?” Tsubasa said; questioning his small electric mouse Pokémon with a smile. Pikachu smiled and said the first four letters of its name two times. Tsubasa knew exactly what it said, but no one else would be able to understand them. That was because only the trainer of that Pokémon can understand their Pokémon. It is extremely difficult to understand other trainer’s Pokémon. Tsubasa didn’t know it, but he was going to have a battle with someone he didn’t expect. Who could it be…
Randal Small
Just outside Sandgem Town.
As soon as Randal started to speak, two people attacked the other person. He stood back as he skillfully beat them both and then proceeded to catch a turtwig. He seemed to know what he was doing. *Maybe I shouldn't ask him. Trouble seems to be drawn to him.* He slunk back into the bushes and continued down the path. He came to clearing, about halfway through the path to the next town. He sat down and took off his backpack from the Human World. He brought out some tin cans of food that he had been saving for a rainy day. He found some usable fire wood nearby and started to cook it while it was in the can.
Soon, the food started to smell extremely delicous. He pulled out a fork and went to eat some, when he heard some weezing. He turned and saw both his pokemon drooling. "I guess you guys are starving too." He found two salvageable pieces or cardboard in his backpack and placed about a third of the can on each one. Btoh Tyrouge and Yanma gave him questioning looks, but gave them each a reassuring smile. They ate with great haste and Randal laidback on a rock watching. He started thinking that this could be the greastest thing that ever happened to him.
"Hey! I challenge you to a battle!" Randal looked up and saw a boy a little younger then him. This guy seemed confident and was waveing some money back and forth while crossing his arms. Randal lazily looked at his pokemon. Hoping they were being lazy at the time like him. Instead, they were both up in fighting stances. Randal sighed and got up. "Alright, lets do this..." The kid held up a finger. "Not so fast dood! Since i Challenged you, you have to play by my rules! We bet 500 pokedollars first, then have a 2-on-2 match. First two pokemon to fall on one side loses!" Randal sighed again. He pulled out his wallet and tried to explain that he had no money on him. However, when he did open it, there was 500 in there. He held the money up and was speechless. *How did I-* He couldn't even think. He shook his head and tried to get in the game. The boy jumped and threw two pokeballs in front of him.
Out came a starly and a bidoof, two pokemon that were everywhere here. The kid smirked and proudly exclaimed "These are my two pokemon I just caught, and their strong too! Okay, both of you use tackle!" Both pokemon said their respective battle cries and charged in. Randal yelled out his commands too. "Yanma use tackle and Tyrouge use fake out!" Yanma buzzed and flew forward coliding head on with the starly. Both pokemon backed up and charged forward again and again. Yanma soon learned that this wasn't working and instead dodged the Starly, using less energy. Tyrouge stood still with his right palm out. When Bidoof came close, he side stepped and slapped him on tghe side of the head, making him skid across the ground and flinched. Randal told Tyrouge to follow up with a tackle, which sent the bidoof skiding even more.
Randal moved his attention back to Yanma, who was using his bug charecteristics to hover and move out of the starly's way with ease. Randal smirked again, maybe Yanma wasn't goofing off earlier. "Use quick attack!" The starly started moving faster, and Yanma soon couldn't move out of the way. "Yanma, keep up!" Yanma looked at Randal expectantly. She couldn't keep up, there was no way! But, she wasn't about to let her trainer down. She turned and followed the starly, pushing herself to her limit. Soon, she crashed into the back of the starly, slaming them both into the gorund. Starly was out, making Yanma the winner. "Good quick attack!" Randal yelled, cheering her on. "Now finish it up with a brick break!" While Yanma was learning a new attack, Tyrouge knocked bidoof into the ground, knocking him out.
Randal walked over to the kid that challenged him. They shook hands and Randal doubled his money in a couple of minutes. He sat back in his spot and tired to relax again. Tyrouge and Yanma were still up, practicing. "Guys, guys, calm down. We just won our first match. Relax some!" They both sat next to Randal as he drifted off to sleep in the sun.
Location: Viridian City
Destination: End of Virdian Forest
I couldn’t sit still in the waiting room. Not knowing when my Pokemon were going to be ready and healed was really exasperating. Being without them and not knowing how what their status is just left me uneasy and worried. Looking around, I saw other trainers in the waiting room awaiting for news on their Pokemon as well. I realized that they were pretty busy here and I might not get any news anytime soon. I got up and began walking around in circles. After several long minutes of pacing back and forth I decided to go around the town and look around. I was walking towards the front door when Chansey stopped me. It held a tray with one pokeball. I picked up the pokeball and smiled. I finally had news on one of my Pokemon, Rex. I tossed the pokeball into the air releasing the small shark Pokemon and it yawned, opening its enormus mouth. It jumped up and down happily.
“I’m glad to see you’re doing okay.” I said. “Let’s go into town while we await for the others to heal.
“Gibb!” Rex pointed out.
“You’re right, we are going to need some supplies for our journey through the forest.” I agreed. “I suppose we can look for a market or some place that sells items that will be useful.”
“GiiiBle!” Rex cried happily.
“Well then, lets head out.” I responded. We walked out of the Pokemon Center and headed eastward. More buildings appeared to be in that direction. We passed by many hotels, houses, and resturants. There were a couple of stores and small markets, but none that looked like they had anything we needed. This town appeared to be sort of peaceful. There wasn’t much commotion going on which was actually nice. I wasn’t really use to this quietness unless it was right before an ambush to surprise attack when I was in the National Guard. Finally I saw a small blue market building that looked like it had some of, if not all of the stuff we needed.
“Gib.” Rex called back. He was already in the store. I looked around and was amazed. They had some good stuff in here. I was looking carefully around the store to see what stuff we really needed since we didn’t have a lot of money. I heard someone scream from the front of the store. I slowly peaked into the next isle. Rex was right behind me. I was a large green mantis like Pokemon with blades as hands. He had the owner of the store pinned down and one blade resting on his head. A guy wearing a black mask came into the store.
“Alright old man,” He started, “put all of the money in here along with all the Luxury ball you have collected there. Those will sell nice.”
“Gible!” Rex grumbled quietly to me.
“I know, carefully make your way to the front.” I whispered to him quietly. Rex crawled inaudibly towards the front of the store, remaining unseen and unheard. Rex was ready in position for the assult. I motioned for him to stand down and await for me to give him the signal. I saw no object in which I could use to knock the guy out so I decided that I was going to have to tackle him. I pulled out my Pokedex and scanned the Pokemon.
Scyther the praying mantis Pokemon. Scyther is blindingly fast. Its blazing speed enhances the effectiveness of the twin scythes on its forearms. This Pokémon's scythes are so effective, they can slice through thick logs in one wicked stroke. It knows moves such as Vaccum Wave, Pursuit, and False Swipe.
I made my way towards the front of the isle I was in the same way Rex did. I then motioned for Rex to strike. Rex opened his mouth and launched himself towards the mantis Pokemon. Rex used a Dragon Rage attack, hitting the Scyther dead on the head. He followed the Dragon Rage with a Take Down Attack which knocked the Scyther out.
“What the…”The hooded man grumbled. I took this opportunity while he was distracted to take him down. I rammed into him as hard as I could into his back spinal area, knocking him and myself to the ground. The front door of the store busted open and an officer looking lady and her dog looking Pokemon ran inside the store and saw the man and the Scyther knocked out on the floor.
“I’m Officer Jenny, what happened here?” She asked.
“This young man saved me from being robbed.” The store owner cried happily.
“Is that so, well that was very brave of you.” Officer Jenny acknowledged. “I’ll need to fill out this form though.” I stayed and finished explaining to the officer what had happened and the she left.
“Well lets go Rex.” I yawned. I was too tired to continue shopping.
“Wait young man, what’s your name?” The store owner asked.
“Leo Sir.” I responded.
“Well I have something to give you.” He said grinning. He handed me a large bag of items. “Also, take these two pokeballs. These are Luxury Balls that you can also use to capture Pokemon, these items are valuable to me.” I smiled and took the items, pocketing the Luxury.
“Thank you Sir.” I said gratefully.
“It’s Mark.” He said and walked back into his store. I walked back to the Pokemon Center where I was awaited by Nurse Joy.
“Your Pokemon are fully healed.” Nurse Joy said happily, handing me two pokeballs. “There’s someone that wants to see you.” Nurse Joy went to the back. I began transferring all the items from the bag into my backpack. I took the two Luxury balls out and look at them, they were quiet beautiful.
“This Squirtle is the one you brought in.” Nurse Joy said placing the Squirtle on the ground. Squirtle walked over to me and looked me in the eyes. It didn’t move for a while, then it smiled and grabbed one of the Luxury balls and hit the middle buttom. A red light took it in and the ball shook three times before remaining still.
“It wanted to go with you.” Nurse Joy exclaimed. I looked at the Luxury ball and grinned.
“I’m gald he’s on my team.” I said. Rex and I walked out of the Pokemon Center and headed into Viridian Forest…
Hoenn, Right outside Petalburg City
Everything, had that really happened? But, the water, the pain, how could that really be a dream, it had felt so real. Actually, my left leg was throbbing, where that SUV had supposedly smacked me, how could that be coincidence? My clothes felt damp and heavy, like if they had been wet but had enough time to start drying. That didn`t make sense, wouldn`t being hurled into the river like that be fatal, how was thinking or feeling possible then? I figured I should open my eyes and let the world around me determine what really happened...
“This can`t be right” I mumbled, taking in the view around me. The grass was a luscious emerald green, which seemed to get taller and a little darker in the distance. The sky was pretty much clear, with the exception of the occasional puffy, white cloud. The breeze was slow moving and carried with it, a few leaves, which blew across the landscape. It was beautiful, which was actually a problem. I`d never seen such a place in my entire life, and this was certainly not the riverside I had been walking by. It certainly wasn`t my tope bedroom either, leaving the question, “where am I” ?
I looked down at my arms, which were still bearing my faded brown clip sweater, which was wide open, reviling my navy shirt. I sigh, with both relief and burden, for this did answer one question, I wasn`t in Heaven. Angels always were white dresses and tunics, and since most of my clothing was dark, I figured I wasn`t angelic. Heck, in my opinion was a ton of baloney, plus, this didn`t exactly feel like a place bad people were doomed to spent their afterlife in torment. I was really confused, if this wasn`t home or utopia, what and where was it?
“Skitty?” cried a high pitched voice, coming from right above me. In fear, I tilted my head straight up and was met with a large, cat-like face. The bearer had both cotton candy pink and simple beige coloring, the mix of the two colors creating an upside down moon right between the eyes. Startled, I gave a decent shout and rolled to the left, in attempt to draw some distance between me and that... thing. My lower left side throbbed in protest and the pain grew so great I was forced to stop. I was almost on the brink of tears it hurt so badly! “Kitt” called the same voice, and as far as I could tell, it was still on the thick signpost. I turned my head, in an attempt to get a better look at whatever that thing was. I could believe what my gold eyes were seeing. The creature boasted a long thin tail that ended with a tuff of pink flesh, large pink and purple ears and tiny little paws. It was a wonder it was able to stay atop it`s perch.
“What a second!” I exclaimed, realising exactly what it really was. There was no doubt in my mind that that was a Skitty, one of the many Pokémon created. However, at the same time, that was impossible, they didn`t exist! Dreaming didn’t make any sense either, for pain that realistic could simply not my dreamt up! I was so confused and my I could feel myself getting a headache trying to figure things out. I was so caught up in my thoughts that I failed to notice the Skitty jump off the sign and walk up to me.
“It” the feline Pokémon meowed, it’s “slot eyes” fixed on my laying body, seemingly intrigued. I knew it wasn’t a nasty creature, so I figured there was no harm in letting it hang around.
“Hi there kitty” I said, as calmly as I could manage. I didn’t really want to scare the cute Pokémon away with my words, although I doubted I sounded that unshaken. The Skitty’s ears twitched and for a moment, I swore it was going to run off, but it didn’t move a centimetre. Instead, it just stood there, staring at me with a curious look. I was so afraid of freaking it out that I just laid there, almost perfectly still. After what felt like forever, the feline approached, wearing a small smile. I figured I might as well try to sit up at least, for it didn`t seem like the pink creature was going to be spooked be my movements.
- - -
I had to admit, getting to sit up didn`t hurt as much I thought it would and I felt much better. I was patting the Skitty gently between its ears, which I figured it enjoyed, as it didn`t protest. Now, I was 100% aware that this was actually a real place and I wasn`t just seeming things. As much as it scared me to think of it, the possibly that I had been warped to the Pokémon world seemed increasingly logical and believable...
"Guys, guys, calm down. We just won our first match. Relax some!" They both sat next to Randal as he drifted off to sleep in the sun.
Khalid Tyler
Just off the side of Sandgem Town.
Khalid and his two new Pokemon Friends were walking out of Sandgem Town where he met with Professor Rowan and his assistant Dawn. He was now off to explore where the hell he was and why he was sent to Pokemon Land. He noticed on his PokeDex that he was in Sinnoh. He wasn't really upto-date with the latest regions that Pokemon had created but he knew what Kanto and Johto was. He threw the two new Pokeballs he had and out came Larvitar and Aipom who were more than happy to see him. Khalid smiled back at them shocked to even believe that these things exist. He was quite intrigued by this and wanted to fully enjoy it. Thinking that Khalid was alone but he heard someone trying to calm his Pokemon. He turned around and saw the trainer and his Yanma and Tyrouge who were more than overly excited. Khalid thought that making friends here would be beneficial for him so he walked towards him with a smiling face that seemed to be welcoming.
His Pokemon followed their new trainer towards another two Pokemon that were probably friends to them. "Hey, I was on my way around this area and I was thinking I could tag along, I'm pretty new at all this." Khalid said in the most positive and friendliest way possible. He had hoped that this guy would know someone and be apart of this world so he could learn off of him and get better. Although it wasn't like he was completely useless at this stuff, he just needed assistance in a few things.
Aipom hoped over to the other Trainer's Pokemon and began to play nice with them. "Aipom, Ai Ai Aipom!" but really what Aipom was saying that her Trainer was different and had some strange thing about him.
Khalid looked at his Aipom and smiled at it, he eventually looked back at the stranger and smiled casually.
"So, can we?" Khalid smiled
Randal Small
Just outside Sandgem Town.
He was at his house. He was sat at the kitchen table when his mother brought out some food. He looked at her puzzling and she smiled and said "What is it honey?" He shook his head a and "Nothing. I guess I had a wierd dream..." He looked down at the food. e couldn't tell what it was, but it was shaped like a ball with the top half red and the bottom half white. Randal stood up, confused about what was happening. Wasn't he in the pokemon world? Wasn't he battleing another kid? Reaching for his pockets, he found nothing there. Where was Yanma and Tyrouge?
He heard a scream come from the kitchen. Randal ran in and found his mother's face melting. underneath was the clerks face, which the clerk proceded to attack him. They wrestled on the floor for awhile until the clerk was on top and started ripping his clothes, trying to get his heart again. He was yelling, but it came out as "Tyrouge! Bzzzzz!" His eyes shot open, and a boy was standing over him. He sat up and shook his head. "Hey, I was on my way around this area and I was thinking I could tag along, I'm pretty new at all this."(Khalid's quote) Randal rubbed his eyes, and checked the area around his heart. No scratches, thank goodness.
Randal stood up and shook the boys' hands. "Yeah. I don't mind a little human company." He laughed out loud. "I'm on my way to Jubilife City. So let's start walking." In the mean time, Tyrouge and Yanma were agreeing with the Aipom. Thier trainer had come out of the sky, a wierd place to be born from if he had been. They also stated that they had been drawn to him, an odd feeling that he needed to be protected. soon they started following Randal too. "So, do you want to battle Gym Leaders or be a Coordinater?" Randal was trying to make conversastion. Anything to get his mind off his awful dream.
Blake
Route 2
It was a beautiful, sunny morning in the region of Kanto. Blake was headed to Pewter City to challenge the gym leader there. His pokemon, Cody the Rhyhorn, Xander the Eevee, and Polly the Pidgey, were all out of their Pokeballs enjoying the weather. There wasn't a cloud in the sky. The green tree branches waved gently in the wind. The dusty, dirt path that Blake and his pokemon were walking on wound through Route 2 from Viridian City on one side to the Viridian Forest on the other side.
Blake was about 30 minutes out of Viridian City when he encountered his first wild pokemon on the Route. As he was walking by a tree, a Rattata hopped out from behind the tree, causing Xander to jump in surprise. "Cody, why don't you take this one," Blake said, pointing at the Rattata, who was now sniffing the ground, heading to the grass on the other side of the road. "Cody, use a Horn Attack." The Rhyhorn lowered his head to the round, pointing his horn at the Rattata. He then charged, knocking back the rat pokemon before it could react. Rattata quickly stood back up however, and faced Cody. It then charged the Rhyhorn with its mouth wide open. The Rattata bit down hard on Rhyhorn's rocky face-shield. Rhyhorn shook off the rat, sending it flying into the tree. Rattata fell to the ground, and couldn't get up before Rhyhorn charged it with another Horn Attack, pinning it against the Tree. Rattata struggled for a second, before slumping over, fainted. "Good Job Cody," I yelled ecstatically, running over to the Rhyhorn and hugging him. Cody looked very pleased.
The rest of the trip through Route 2 was uneventful. There were a few more encounters with wild pokemon, and both Polly and Xander got some combat experience. By that afternoon, Blake and his pokemon had made it to the Viridian Forest.
Amy Mercy - Hoenn Region
Current Location - Route connecting Oldale Town and Petalburg City (102)
For one to say that the day had begun almost like any other would have been a grand overstatement.
Upon waking from her "bed" in the Pokemon Centre, Amy had been greeted by the Nurse Chansey, who appeared ecstatic to see she was awake - and had immediately pottered away to return with a breakfast consisting of toast, cereal and juice. Houndour was also presented with a nutritious breakfast, and as Nurse Joy had taken Staryu away to polish it's gem-like core - though not seeming to need to eat, it stopped the Pokemon from feeling left out.
Once Staryu was returned, and Houndour had finished it's third helping of Pokemon food. Amy decided it would be a good time to make tracks considering it was almost 11am and the sun was high in the sky. Joy instructed her to follow a path leading west through the small town, and she would be well on her way towards Petalburg City which was a couple of miles away.
Around 2pm, Amy found herself slumped against a tree in exhaustion. "Wow...had...no idea...would be so far away..." she sighed breathlessly, glancing towards a small lake - the sunlight glistening off of the water in a way that caused the redhead to take a quiet breath, and smile across the picturesqe display.
"Can't deny it..." she mumbled to herself quietly "It sure beats the pollution and cars everywhere...".
After several more minutes, she decided that if she did not continue the journey now then she would not reach Petalburg City before the sun began to set, so with a groan, and a few muttered curses - she used the tree to rise to her feet, and picked up her bag to continue back towards the trail.
Petalburg City couldn't be TOO far away...
Trenecko, Hoenn, Littleroot
Trenecko woke up early, if her internal clock was still on her world's time, it'd be about 7 a.m., the time she woke up to get ready for school. She was hot, laying under a heavy blanket she hadn't remembered being there with Kit curled up behind her bent knees and Mizu curled in her arms. Slowly, she pushed the blanket off, waking Kit, but Mizu remained firmly asleep. She sat up, Kit crawling into her lap, and looked around. It took her a moment to remember where she was, but recognized Prof. Birch immediately from where he stood in the kitchen. One of the windows was open, it was just getting light outside.
"Good morning, Professor." She said sleepily, Birch turned to see her and looked surprised.
"You're up? I thought you'd sleep like a rock until noon." He replied with a still surprised tone in his voice. Trenecko shrugged.
"I always got up early at home, my body wakes me up at 7 a.m. my time. Why are you up?" Trenecko said, Birch nodded.
"I like to start my work early so that I can get some paperwork done before the trainers start coming in. By the way, I have all your things ready to go, and once you eat, you're free to go." Birch said, then added "There's cereal in there." he said, pointing to a pantry. Trenecko got up and got herself a bowl of cereal, and got some food for Kit and Mizu, saving Mizu's in a ziplock bag for later when she woke up.
She went over to the lab when she was done, where Birch gave her a few spare pokeballs and a map. Trenecko left with a smile and Mizu in her pokeball. She'd left a note for Brendan, thanking him for his help and saying she looked forward to seeing him later. She thanked Birch and told him that she hoped to catch up with Robert, and finally left.
Trenccko, Hoenn, Around Oldale
Trenecko smiled, she and Kit had made great time on the trip back to Oldale, and were there in a little less that an hour. Now she and Kit were headed to Petalburg, only spending enough time in Oldale to feed Mizu, grab a bottle of water, buy some healing suppliies, and then leave. She, Kit, and Mizu had fun wading through areas of tall grass, finding and fighting off a few pokemon in the process. This is where they slowed a little, Trenecko had started looking for possible additions to their team, but all they were really able to find were Poocheyena, Wurmple, and Lotad, none of them Kit and Mizu had decided they liked. The group was finally trying to leave the area when they came across a girl who seemed to be struggling with something. Trenecko sighed and pulled down the bill of her hat to hide her eyes, she wouldn't trust the girl, just see if she needed help...
"Excuse me, m'am, do need help with something?" She asked the woman(Amy) gently. Kit bounced along beside her cheerfully, covering up his own suspiscion of the girl, but saw she seemed to need help, and didn't voice his opinion.
-=Robert, En Route to Petalburg City=-
Robert had begun his trek down the long winding road that would lead him to Petalburg, where Norman lived and worked. "It's certainly a big difference in distance between the game and the real thing. I wonder how long it will take us to get there." Robert mused, carrying a rucksack filled with most of his army gear which weighed about fifty pounds. However, Lilly used her Confusion attack to mitigate the weight by holding it up with her mind. Yinepu walked alongside Robert while Lotus rested comfortably in her pokeball.
As Robert made it to the halfway point, he saw Trenecko along with another girl. Once Robert and his troupe caught up with the girls, he would offer a friendly wave to them. "Trenecko was it? How are you doing?" he asked before looking over to the other girl. "Hello. My name is Robert. Who are you?" he asks in a calm and polite tone of voice.
Trenecko turned at the sound of Robert's voice and smiled at his comment. "Yeah, you've got it right. Anyway, I'm doing pretty good. Oddly, I spent the night in Littleroot and beat you here." She said, laughing a little, then getting serious "Actually, I was hoping to run into you in Petalburg." she told him. Kit circled Robert, sniffing the air around him, then moving over to Yinepu and sniffing him. After a moment, he barked a greeting and then bounced back to Trenecko's side. Mizu looked at Yinepu and blew bubbles into the air again, recognizing the Riolu that had fallen victim to her bubbles before.
Turning from Trenecko, Amy's attention was caught by the large male's voice - politely extending a hand towards him as her other kept hold of her bag on her shoulder.
"The name's Amy...pleased'ta'meet ya" she smiled, before turning her head towards Trenecko again with the same smile. "And I'm alright...thanks...you guys stayed in Oldale Town? I didn't see ya at the Pokemon Centre...".
Though before she could continue, there was a sudden flash from her bag, and out from the light emerged Houndour - which began to affectionately nuzzle it's head against Amy's shins with a un-canine-esqe purring sound. Causing Amy to lift her left hand to the back of her head to ruffle her crimson locks in somewhat embarassment.
"Not now...heh..."
Robert smiled to Amy and politely shook her hand, using a gentle grip. "Pleasure to meet you Amy." he spoke before looking at Trenecko. "Well I didn't leave the Pokemon Center until noon. I had to get some breakfast, cook up some pokemon food and dress up a wound." he spoke before taking out a third pokeball. He released Lotus, a female Poochyena. "I caught this little girl last night. According yo Lilly's telepathy, this little pooch was abandoned by another trainer." Robert spoke before kneeling down and gently petting Lotus's head.
"Well I take it judging by the path we're all going that we're all headed for Petalburg. If it gets too dark out, I have a tent and some camping supplies." Robert suggested as he looked at the two girls. Robert still had most of his military gear, including a lean-to tent large enough for four people, a 3-layer sleeping bag that could be separated into a light sleeping bag, a heavy sleeping bag and a weatherproof covering.
Glancing over Robert's shoulder at the large army pack, Amy then offered a brief smile down towards the small Pokemon before fumbling in her pocket for the Pokedex that Professor Birch had issued her, and directed it towards the Pokemon until an image of it appeared on the screen.
"Poochyena, the bite Pokemon. It chases after fleeing targets tenaciously. It turns tail and runs, however, if the foe strikes back.
"It's a cutie..." she observed as Houndour edged from around her legs, and began to sniff at the other Pokemon curiously.
Near Petalburg City, Hoenn
“Thanks, Skitty” I said, taking my first real step in this world, still feeling strange. It was nice to finally be on my feet, however, as I felt vulnerable lying on the ground. My lower left side emitted a weak pain, much less then when I had rolled just a little while back. I still wanted to get it checked out, however, as there could always be a problem. I then looked around, hoping to see something that I may have missed while sitting against that wooden sign post. Over on one side, I could tiny little black dots, about three, although, it was hard to tell. I wondered if they were actually people or maybe even more Pokémon. I was kind of hoping they were human; maybe they could at least give a clue of my location?
“Kitt” shouted the pink cat, facing the other way. Assuming there was something of interest going on in the opposite direction, I turned around quickly and spotted the outskirts of what I knew was a city! From what I could tell, it was of decent size, for I could spot some large buildings further off. However, they didn`t stand out as huge or even very big, so I figured it wasn`t a major metropolis either.
“Wanna tag along with me, Skitty” I asked, searching for the Pokémon, and found it sitting on the sign post, like before. It was looking at me, almost expectantly, like it wanted me to do something. I thought for a second before realising what kind of an idiot I had been! Why hadn`t I thought of checking that out any sooner? I mean, it`s been there the entire time, and I even noticed it before, but didn`t bother reading it! It seemed I was about to fall into another spiral of negativity based on my missing the sign post.
“Skitt” snapped the Skitty, seemingly annoyed with my stalling, which snapped me out of my train of thought. She was tapping the front of the stubby but tall post. I could see some black symbols carved, but I was too far off to make them out. I walked just a little closer and soon, I could make out what was to be read.
“ < ---Petalburg City”
I had to admit, it wasn`t much of a message, but it did answer a few questions. One, I was REALLY in the Pokémon world, Hoenn to be more precise. I remembered the region from my Sapphire version, and Petalburg was smack in-between Oldale and the Petalburg Forest. I had to admit I felt a little better knowing where I was, even if it made little sense. Why was I here and how did I get in the Hoenn region from in the river? Those were the two major questions and I could tell they would haunt me for at least a little while. I looked up at Skitty, who was still resting on the sign, now wagging her thin tail around in messy circles.
“Thanks for the hint” I owed the Pokémon a nice thank-you for its help; after all, I knew where I was now. It seemed to understand, for it nodded with a cheerful grin and hoped off its perch onto the grass below. A small daisy I`d never noticed grew just inches from my right shoe. The Skitty most have spotted it from above as it headed right for the plant and gave it a good sniff. After a minute or so, the pink cat picked the flower skilfully using the pin-like things on its tail. I must say, I was quite impressed by its handiness, and here I thought only Aipom could do such things. It then placed the daisy behind it`s left ear and it seemed to fit almost perfectly.
“Itty” beamed the Skitty before it began running in circles like a hyper toddler. I had to admit, I was beginning to take a liking to this Pokémon, like I had in my Sapphire game. I`d my pixel kitty “Catalina” both because it had the word “cat” in it and because the plane that bared the name was pretty cool. I figured this Skitty was female, judging from its love of that daisy. The more I thought of it, the more I liked the name on the pink cat.
“Hey Skitty, do you like the name Catalina?” I asked, my eyes fixed on the cute creature. I hoped she would accept, which would mean that she wanted to tag along with me to the city. Or at least, I would wish that what that would imply anyways! The Skitty stopped running in a circular shape and gave me a happy grin. She nodded twice, which caused my face to mimic the expression Catalina was wearing. “That`s awesome, Cat!” I exclaimed in joy, looking at the pink Pokémon. She then jumped onto my shoulder, sort of like Ash`s Pikachu did on the show.
“Kit” she shouted in a gleeful tone, and from the corner of my eye I could see her paw pointing forward, toward the city. We were about to walk off down the path leading to Petalburg, when I heard the sound of chirping, coming from behind me. That too sounded familiar, and I instinctively turned around to see what kind of bird Pokémon it was.
“Oh my goodness, it`s a Swablu!” I yelled, pointing at the blue bird in awe. It was just sitting on the grass, seemingly engrossed with Catalina. I could tell it wasn`t very aggressive, but then again, you can never be sure. It walked slowly, yet ungracefully in my direction. “Hi” I said, hoping it wasn`t going to attack...
Trenecko smiled at Amy's Houndour and Robert's Poochyena. "Well, like Robert said, I'm Trenecko. My Vulpix is Kit, and the Surskit is Mizu, that's funny--we all have at least one canine-like pokemon." She told Amy, picking up Mizu so that she didn't lose her in the taller grass. She then turned to Robert and thought of his comment.
"Sounds good, though I'll probably just sleep outside if it gets too dark. I'm an outdoorsy person. And I'm sorry about your Poochyena, some people can be horrible, even in this world. It's no different than someone abandoning their dog or cat...it's sad." She murmured, bending down and holding her hand out to Lotus in a friendly gesture.
"It's okay, I won't hurt you. Ask Mizu, I'm nice, I helped her." Trenecko said softly, she'd always managed to forge bonds with animals fairly easily in the human world, she wondered if this would hold true here with dog-like pokemon.
Mizu perked up in Trenecko's free arm "Surskit sur!" she cried in reassurance to Lotus.
Stryker sighed, wiping his forehead as the sweat dripped down it. It felt as if he had been travelling for ages, and wasn't getting anywhere. He slumped down to the ground, letting out all his Pokemon, and he took shade under a tree. Ize and Ikaru sat next to Stryker, whilst Island sat bathing in the sun. The other two were playing nearby. Stryker glanced back the way he came, and saw two trainers together, walking in his direction. He shook his head, and closed his eyes, lifting his head up to the sky.
To any passer-by he was quite visible. Ize stood up, and walked over to Island, tapping him on the shoulder. Island lifted his head, and grunted lazily at Ize.
"Turt!" Island grunted.
"Riolu" Ize sighed, walking back to sit next to Ikaru.
Arch and Sai were happily playing, but came back to Stryker after getting bored. Which wasn't that long. Arch and Sai lay on the ground next to Island, who had nearly fallen asleep.
Elyon Orimoto sighed. She loved art, but she didn't want to spend an entire day around it. She had come here because her Uncle wanted to see the new piece they were adding to the Civil war artwork.
"GET DOWN! WE'RE BEING ATTACKED!"
That was all she heard before the bomb's explosion sent her flying into the back wall. She fell to the floor, unconscious.
Elyon Orimoto
Sandgem Town Sinnoh
Elyon groaned as something continued to nudge her side. What happened? The last thing she remembered was being at the museum. Then someone shouted that they were being attacked. A bomb blew up and she was knocked unconscious. The unknown person continued to nudge her side.
"Vul? Vul vulpix." The gentle voice sounded. It seemed... concerned.
"Pi pichu pi?" Another voice sounding. This one was filled with confusion and worry.
Slowly, Elyon's eyes fluttered open. Looking around her, she saw a small mouse like creature with pink sacs on its cheeks and a small black tail. A black jagged band was under its neck and the rest of its fur was yellow. The second creature was a small fox like with crimson red fur and six tails. She recognized them immediately as Pokemon. When she was younger, she used to play the games and watch the show.
"Vulpix and Pichu?" Elyon asked, slowly sitting up, "What in the world is going on here?"
"You, young lady, were out cold." A much older voice intercepted, "These two here notified me about you. I must say, it was strange that you were unconscious and yet you have no injuries. Can you tell me what happened?"
Elyon found herself looking at an elderly man with spiky hair and a beard wearing a white lab coat. Professor Rowan, the Pokemon Professor of the Sinnoh Region. Elyon told the man about what had happened. She explained how she wasn't from the Pokemon world and about the events that happened and brought her here.
"Well, that is quite the tale." Rowan mused, reaching into his coat, "I think you should take these. There are six pokeballs here and a spare Pokedex. These were meant for a trainer who was coming by earlier, but they did not show up. Something about being forced to wait another year or something like that."
"Wow, thanks Professor," Elyon replied, looking down at the two Pokemon who had helped her, "So, I take it you two want to come with me?"
"Vul!"
"Chu!"
The two Pokemon nodded eagerly as Elyon tossed a pokeball at each Pokemon. They were engulfed in a red light and the ball snapped shut immediately. After bidding farewell to Professor Rowan, Elyon set off into the Pokemon world. She pondered what wonders and adventures awaited her.
-=Robert=-
Robert gave a nod and smiled to the two girls. He watched as Lotus cautiously sniffed Trenecko's hand and gave it a light light before scurrying back behind Robert's legs. "Seems she's a bit shy. But still, we should get moving towards Petalburg. I don't think we'll make it before dark, but the more ground we cover now, the less we'll have to travel tomorrow morning." Robert spoke with a pleasant smile as he and his three pokemon began walking down the road towards Petalburg.
By the time the sun was starting to set, they had covered almost 3/4 of the total distance. It would take an additional three hours by foot, but by that time his own legs were sore, and there was no telling how sore the girls were since they didn't have the rigorous physical training he did as a soldier. Moving off into a clearing, Robert took out his shelter tent and began setting it up. "Could you girls set up a campfire? I have some MRE's for us to dig into. Beef stew, Chicken terriaky and chilly mac. Who wants what?" he asked as he began staking in the edges of the tent.
As Robert began to assemble to tent, Amy turned towards several low hanging branches in a nearby tree, and stood on her toes to snap them, and toss them into a pile not far from where the tent was being pitched.
Hanging from one of the higher branches seemed to be a ribbon that swayed slowly in the night time breeze. Amy tilted her head in confusion as it began to rise back up into the foliage of the tree before turning from it, and moving to sit back beside the fire.
"Houndour...? Could you maybe help light the fire?" she asked, turning towards the four legged Pokemon that sat beside her.
With a quiet growl, it dipped it's head in a nod before opening it's mouth to expel a small flame directed at the base of the tree branches, igniting them.
Trenecko
Trenecko smiled and climbed into another tree, swinging like a monkey as she climbed towards the top and snapped off more branches. "Mizu, keep an eye on that fire and make sure it doesn't get out of hand. Kit, make sure it doesn't go down too low." She advised, dropping down a load of branches for them before snapping off an armful more before climbing down. Her legs hurt more than they had before now, but she hadn't been able to resist the temptation of climbing. There weren't very many trees where she had lived, but she couldn't help climbing the when she could. It had been all she'd done when her family had taken that camping trip when she was eight...
She hopped down from the last branch with a triumphant cry and smiled. She tossed some of the branches on the fires, which flared up as she did. Kit seemed fascinated with the flames, trying to paw them while Mizu stayed well back. "As for food, it doesn't matter to me. I eat almost anything, but I have some stuff Profesor Birch kinda forced on me in place of his wife before I left his house." Trenecko said, pulling out a canister of pokemon food and a medium-sized container of berries.
"Think this will be any help?" She asked. She pulled off her ballcap and shoved it into her bag. She liked the cool breeze that was winding in through the trees and the night setting in around them. It was quiet here compared to every place she'd ever lived, she liked it here. Maybe Brendan was right after all, maybe she'd been born in the wrong world. She tugged at the silver-plated black ribbon tied around her neck and sighed.
"Stray dog for life." She murmured, basically echoing the words engraved on the plate--nora inu, which translated out to stray dog. Her brother had given it to her, and he had a matching one. Absentmindedly, Trenecko gazed into the flames and bent down to rub Kit's haed.
Robert gave a node to Trenecko as she spoke of the berries and other pokemon food the professor had given to her. "That should help, certainly. I can probably make a few bowls of stew from the berries depending on what berries they are and how each of them taste, but I'd rather save the fancy stuff for later when we have more supplies." he replied as he pulled out his MRE plastic pouches. He took the Beef Stew one for himself. Breaking the plastic bag open, he took out the heater bag and pulled the plastic pouch containing the beef stew from it's thin cardboard casing. pouring a little water into the heater bag to activate it, he slipped the food pouch into the heater bag , rolled the top closed and leaned it agianst the rock. Walking over to the fireplace, Robert rooted out all of the nearby grass within a foot radius so the flames wouldn't start a field fire.
Blake
Outskirts of the Viridian Forest
Night was falling as Blake returned to his camp with some more firewood. Cody was working on creating a campfire by kocking his horn against a rock to build up some friction. He finally succeeded in creating a spark, and with the help a light gust from Polly, they managed to create a fire. Blake and his pokemon, Cody the Rhyhorn, Xander the Eevee, and Polly the Pidgey, sat around the fire that night. "Lets break open some of that food I bought at Viridan's Pokemart yesterday," said Blake. The pokemon all yelped cheerfully, and Blake opened up his backpack, pulling out a couple of cans of food. The Pokemon food was sorted and distributed by type of pokemon that it was intended to feed. Blake had therefore gotten a can of food for normal pokemon to feed Xander and Polly and a can of food for rock pokemon to feed Cody. He pulled out a three bowls from his bag, and poured some food into each before placing the bowls on the ground. All three pokemon immediatly started to chow down. Blake then returned to his backpack and pulled out a pack of dehydrated food. He got out a pot, filled it with water from his canteen, and poured the food into the water to begin cooking over the fire. The night was silent and the sky was clear. Occasionally, a bug would wonder out of the Viridian trees, attracted by the fire. Cody was quick to scare them away, and they would scurry back into the trees from where they had come. After dinner, Blake put out the fire and returned his pokemon to their pokeballs before climbing into his sleeping bag and going to sleep.
The morning came early, but Blake woke up refreshed, and ready to travel through the Viridian forest. "Come on out guys," he said, releasing Cody, Xander, and Polly from their poke balls. The three pokemon yawned. They had all obviously been asleep still when Blake released them. "Here is some breakfast," Blake said, pouring a little food into their bowls again.
After packing up the campsite, Blake and his pokemon set off into the Viridian Forest. The trees were many, but they were not packed together very close, and Blake had no trouble navigating through the forest, especially since he had bought the town map back in Viridian city. His pokemon seemed worried though. All three of them kept looking around cautiously. "Maybe they know something about this place that I dont," though Blake to himself. O well, with the four of us working together, nothing frightens me. Then there was a rustle. Blake turned to his right, from where the sound had come. Out of the bushes popped a triumphant looking boy with a net in his hand and a caterpie hanging in the net.
"I did it!" said the boy smiling. "I knew I could catch a caterpie. They didn't think I could do it but I did!" He obviously had not noticed Blake nor Blake's pokemon.
"Excuse me," said Blake, "Why are you so happy? Thats just a lowly Caterpie."
The boy jumped and then turned around. "Oh, I hand't seen you there," he said uneasily. "Im not even a trainer yet. The reason I am so happy is because this is my first pokemon, and my friends didn't think I would ever be able to catch one."
"But don't you have to use a Pokeball to catch a pokemon? It looks like you just tackled that Caterpie and caught it in your net."
"Oh, thats right," said the boy. He pulled a pokeball out of his pocket and rammed it down his net, hitting the Caterpie ferociously with it. A red light engulfed the Caterpie as it entered the Pokeball, which then wiggled a couple of times before laying in the net still. "There," said the boy. "Now if you don't mind, I'v got to get back to my friends and show this little guy off to them." The boy ran own the path, in the direction that Blake was heading.
"Wait..." said Blake, but the boy was already out of earshot. "He was a little... wierd," said Blake to his pokemon, who all nodded in unison. "Lets continue. I have a feeling we are going to run into him again. Blake and his pokemon continued down the path. After about fifthteen uneventfull minutes, Blake heard a squeal from Xander.
"Eevee!" said the fluffy brown pokemon as it happily jumped up to a bush near the path. Xander picked what looked like a Berry off the bush and cheerfully started chomping down on it.
"What kind of food is that Xander?" Asked Blake. He unzipped his backpack and pulled out a field guide he had bought from the Viridian Pokemart. Opening it up, Blake turned to the chapter on Berries and identified the Berry as a Pecha Berry. The guide said that Pecha berries were liked by pokemon with certain personalities and disliked by other pokemon. They were supposed to be able to cure mild poisons caused by stings. "So, these things can cure poisons," said Blake to himself. "These might come in handy in a bug infested forest like this." Blake bent down and picked ten Pecha berries before placing them in an outside pouch in his backpack. "So, do you like these berries?" Blade asked Xander. The Eevee nodded his head enthusiastically before returning to his meal. "So I guess you like sweet tasting food. This guide says Pecha berries are very sweet." Xander once again nodded his head. "How about you two," said Blake, turning to Cody and Polly. "Do you two like sweet food?" Blake offered them a Pecha berry apiece but both pokemon turned down the offer. "O well, I guess everyone has different tastes," said Blake, putting the berries back into his berry pouch. Lets continue guys, I want to get out of this forest as soon as possible. The four of them set down on the path again, heading in the direction of Pewter city.
Trenecko
Trenecko looked up at Robert as Mizu bounced into her lap. She rubbed Mizu's head too. "So, are we planning on getting to Petalburg tomorrow?" She asked him, trying to start more of a conversation. She picked up the plastic container of berries and pulled the top off and popped a blue one in her mouth.
"Mmm. This one's good, it looks like the oran berries in the game." She said, picking up another one and feeding it to Kit, who made a purring sound, folloed by Mizu, who didn't realy react to it.
