ASB Rules, Guides and Questions

A Word from the Management

The management requests that all users read this thread. If you don’t read all of this thread, from start to finish and the threads that we provide links to, you won’t know what happens in the ASB. And if you don’t know what happens, you won’t be able to participate.

The Ground Rules

At the very start, please read the Rules of PE2K. They apply here, and are just as valid as everywhere else, except for a few exceptions;

1. You are permitted to double post in business threads if twelve hours have passed since your last post. If you are, though, purchasing a completely new Pokémon, you will need to put up a new post, even if it is only a few minutes after you posted your last purchase. This is to prevent people skipping the time necessary to wait before collecting your new Pokémon.

2. You may also revive threads that are businesses ONLY. You may not, though, revive battle threads over a month old, unless it has postponed for over a month, with agreement from both battlers (see below).

3. Plagiarism is an instant permanent ban from the ASB. There is no argument about this; if you are deemed to have stolen work from the PE2KASB without asking, you will be removed from the system and not allowed to return.

4. Clone accounts are taken extremely seriously at the ASB, and will be dealt with in the harshest way if found to be taking an advantage of our system.

The system of ASB warnings, fines and bans are covered later on in the thread and can be viewed completely in the Wall of Shame

Starting Out

You are able to register your team on the PE2KASB as soon as you have read all the rules on the forums. The main portion of text that we require you to read about starting out is feature in the ASB Registration Headquarters. This will give you all the information you need for starting out with your first team as well as a few more ground rules for other features of the ASB; obtaining new Pokémon, evolving your Pokémon, creating Signature Moves, etc.

Once you have successfully applied for a team in the ASB Registration Headquarters and it has been approved by one of the approvers, you may move on over to the Bank of PE2KASB and apply for your first bank account. Again, however, please read all the rules at the bank as well before continuing. This will give you the overview of how to keep your bank account in check as well as how to link to the threads where you spent money.

Once you have your team and your money, you are free to start spending money, updating your team and battling. The first two topics have been covered by both the Registration Headquarters and the Bank. So now, I must move onto the subject of money and how to obtain it.

Matters of Money

You will already have a basic overview (and a basic amount) of money when you start up your first ASB Bank Account; but what is the point in money? How do you earn it? And how do you spend it?

Battling

Battling is a great way to make money on PE2KASB; win or lose. The basics of creating a battle challenge and obtaining an opponent is covered in the Battle Station thread. Here, we also have the information on the sort of cash and prizes you receive when a battle is completed. I will run through that again here;

- Somebody who successfully wins a battle receives $20 for every Pokémon that they faint.
- Somebody who is not successful in a battle still receives $10, and an extra $10 for every Pokémon of the winner they may have fainted.
- The Referee receives $4 for every round the have reffed.

Refereeing

Similar to battling, the idea of refereeing is where a member of the ASB, with the right qualifications, can referee battles for other users, and get paid for their efforts. Over at the Referee Headquarters, you can find out how to apply to become a referee. It is suggested that you have a decent amount of battling experience before you apply to be a referee though; it requires the ability to be able to read of a chart, the ability to correctly interpret the moves of Pokémon and the ability to express this as a readable, enjoyable format in which you explain the course of a battle.

When you become a qualified referee, you may take up battles in the Ref Finder thread. The rules of taking battles are all in that thread, so please read them before throwing yourself into refereeing certain battles; even referees have restrictions, which are covered in the Referee Headquarters.

Referees, on top of the pay they receive for finishing battles, receive a weekly paycheque; if they referee at least one round of a battle a week. All the information for Referee Pay can be found in the Referee Headquarters.

Businesses

There are several businesses around PE2KASB, all of which provide you with some sort of service to spend your money on. Via these businesses, you can evolve your Pokémon, buy new ones for your team, purchase special moves for your Pokémon that they wouldn’t otherwise learn and spend your money on any of the games that we provide.

You can apply for an existing, ownerless business or attempt at implementing a new business into the PE2KASB at the Dragons Den. Here you will be judged by our current business approvers, who will approve your business or disapprove it with reasons on how you can improve your idea.

Trading between Users

You can also trade and/or sell your Pokémon to users at the Trading Tower. Here you can barter with other members for the price or Pokémon equivalent of their Pokémon. The rules of Trading and Buying/Selling Pokémon between users can be found in the link to the thread I have provided above.

Tournaments

There are several Tournaments that you can participate in, whether by choice or just by other people choosing you. The most obvious tournament is the ASBer of the Month Tournament. If you check out the thread, you can see how to vote and what you get if you win the tournament.

There are also tournaments occasionally hosted in the Tournament and Gym Central. These tournaments usually require some sort of entry fee, but the eventual winner is likely to receive a lot of rewards, perhaps even rewards that money cannot buy. At the moment there are no tournaments available for entry. But check the forums occasionally; you never know when we might put one up!

Going Away

If you are referring a battle and contesting in a battle or tournament you will probably want to inform us by the Going Away thread. However, if you will be away for over a month, we are afraid that we can’t accept the postponement of the battle without the agreement of the other battler and the referee, and you will have to be disqualified. However, if both of the other two agree, then there is no problem.

Restarting in PE2KASB

If you have left the ASB for a long period of time and wish to restart with a new team; or are just merely bored with your current selection and want a fresh start, you may register a new team at the ASB Registration Headquarters (replacing your old team) and collect your initial $15 again from the Bank. Reading the ASB Registration Headquarters and Bank’s initial post will explain how you do this, as to prevent you from impeding any rules when you try to restart with your new team.

Disciplinary System within PE2KASB

Finally, we come to the disciplinary system. There are four types of ASB exclusive infractions that you can receive; a Warning, a Fine, a Temporary Ban and a Permanent Ban. All of this is covered again in the Hall of Shame; where people who receive bans and fines will be posted. This is to keep check of users who are repeated offenders, in order to be able to take more severe action the next time they choose to break a rule. It does take to note, though, that these bans are not official forum bans. These are bans and infractions that are kept in check by the leaders of the ASB, and will not affect your activity on the forums; just your activity in the ASB forums. However, the infractions and bans you can receive here may lead to forum bans, depending on how you react to them and if you impede any main forum rules.

Hopefully we will never have to punish anyone, but these forms of action are here just in case. Please don’t break them; we don’t want to have to impede your ASB progress, but we will do if forced to. As long as you stay in line with the rules, you should be fine.
