Default Re: [RP] Road Last Traveled - The Fallarbor Town Massacre [PG-13]

OOC: I know, delayed. Mostly working on school, War, and house stuff.

Saturday, August 16th - Night

Investigation by Professor Robert Klein
The Jackson Farmstead

Working through the night, you, your Pokémon, and Officer Stan Phillips search the Jackson Farmstead only to realize that there is no sign of Samantha Jackson anywhere in the house. However, in the room that Samantha Jackson was supposed to be watching Kevin Jackson from, there are signs of a struggle, including a knocked over chair was well as dents and streaks on the walls. In the meantime, you and Officer Stan Phillips also uncover that there is no sign of Paul Jackson either, who seemed to have disappeared shortly after Kevin Jackson’s wife was supposedly kidnapped.

“It looks like the body was meant to be a distraction,” Officer Stan Phillips concludes to you at the scene. “Jigsaw must have used reverse psychology, going for the person in the house while Kevin was in the field. He must have known that Samantha was looking after Kevin, but not the other way around.”

However, the disappearance of Kevin Jackson’s son is another issue. It seemed that no one had been watching the boy. The only conclusive evidence that you have now is that it appears some disturbance is evident in the nearby ashy brush, and a trail can be seen going away from the house heading south until it hits the road.

Investigation by El Amarese
Fallarbor Town Bed & Breakfast

From what you observe at the Fallarbor Town Bed & Breakfast, you notice that the building seems to be neatly kept and there are no physical objects that seem to be out of the ordinary. However, a few of the tenants appear to show some irregularities.

Albert Valdez, who has been staying in room 231 on the second floor, as you have observed, appears to be a vicious chain smoker. He usually stands out on the balcony of his room, overlooking the courtyard, which has been vacant for the past few weeks. Most of the time, the lights in his room appear to be off.

Brad Coleman appears to exceptionally anti-social and looks like he hasn’t talked to anyone in days. But, in the meantime, it also appears that he spends most of his time talking to himself. Unlike Valdez, the lights in his room are often on, even when he’s not in the room.

Stacy Henderson, whom you’ve noted to take on a slightly impish personality, seems mostly unconcerned with the situation, though you can tell that from her demeanor, it appears she feels she is safe with so many other people around that she has nothing to worry about.

Investigation by Angela Feyr
Fallarbor Firearms

Upon stepping into Jason Taylor’s store, you noticed that he does sell many handguns, magnums, shotguns, and hunting rifles. However, you note that he doesn’t sell any automatics, which would include the M4A1 carbine described in the note.

You also notice that the store does have several empty shelves, all of which appear to used to hold inventory. In the meantime, searching the apartment upstairs leads to nothing conclusive as you don’t find any sign of the M4A1 in question.

Investigation by Desmond "Dez" Hewgill
Sam Fender

I hadn’t seen the man since he stepped into town. He came into the store, accidently bumped into me, which resulted in a few groceries being knocked over. He apologized to me about the incident, but to me, it was no big deal.

“Oh, I'm Desmond Hewgill,” He told me. “Say, you wouldn't happen to know anything about what's been going on, have you?”

“To tell the truth, it scares me to no end,” I told him, knowing it was likely the reason why I got little sleep at night, always turning the lights on every time a heard a bump in the night. “Well, I’ll let you in on a few things. To tell the truth, I’ve been robbed a couple times. I got to thinking that those killers that have been in hiding also need to eat. I figure they keep me alive only because there’s food in the store.”

Sonya Harding

I met up with someone who had gotten just as sick of this crap as I had. Brad Coleman. He seemed like a decent guy, though tough and gritty. I couldn’t help but agree with him on this one. The cops in this town were slow and didn’t seem to have the same kinds of street smarts that we civilians had. If one of the murderers killed one of those cops, it would take that cop like five hours to suddenly realize they were dead.

Now, if I were one of the killers, how would I be doing this? I really didn’t know, I didn’t have that kind of mindset. I got to asking Brad if he came up with any ideas, but he seemed much deeper in thought. In truth, he was cool, I guess, but at times, he would talk to himself and have these kinds of hallucinations. I just shrugged it off though.

“They said someone found a body in that old school,” Brad told me, looking like he was getting more pissy by the minute. “What do you make of that?”

“Guess they’ve been using the abandoned sections of town?” I asked, figuring that’s what the whole pattern was telling me. “That cop Conrad reported finding a body in the Modrak house. Makes me wonder if this is where they’ve been killing people instead of broad daylight.”

I figured that was something to go off of.

Dr. Kyle Vickers

I had just gotten through seeing a patient when I was greeted with a surprise I hadn’t expected. Before I knew it, I had seen Dr. Morgan Smith step through the front doors of the clinic, seemingly fine. I didn’t know how he managed to get back here from Rustboro City, or why he even wanted to. Still, even though Morgan showed a passionate interest for his job, I don’t know why he’d want to come back here.

“Morgan!” Dr. Robert Hammond exclaimed. “You’re back! My god, you must have no idea what’s been going on.”

“Enlighten me,” Morgan requested in simple terms.

“Murders,” I told him, keeping it straight to the point. “Countless numbers of Fallarbor citizens have been turning up dead, all with strange names painted on or torn into them. You left just when it started happening. Also, our condolences for your mother.”

“Enough,” Morgan demanded. “I didn’t like my mother. She was never satisfied with anything and just… never knew how to settle. But enough about her. You say there have been murders?”

It was true, Morgan never did talk about his family, so after hearing this, I figured there were good reasons for it. As for the murders, that was a whole different issue. It made me glad I worked as a doctor and not a specialist in autopsy. I would have been overworked for sure.

“Many,” I told him, knowing the body count was already massive. “The police and a few other people are investigating it. I suppose I would too if I wasn’t busy already. And truthfully, I’m not the kind of person to go poking around.”

“Enough about that, let the police do their work,” Robert told the both of us. “Morgan, its nice to see you back. Would have been nice if it was on better terms, but I suppose there’s only so much we can do.”
