Round Three

DarkMoonlight

[The Defense] Cranidos (F)

HP: 84%
Energy: 60%
Condition: None
Moves: Protect/Ancient Power ~ Protect/Ancient Power

Osha-WHAT?

[Brooke] Eevee (F)

HP: 84%
Energy: 62%
Condition: Defence -1; In Gallery
Moves: Shadow Ball ~ Shadow Ball

Following on from the rather dramatic ending to the last round, the beginning of this one was a little dull. Since DarkMoonlight had ordered a positive priority move, Protect, as a wait-and-see conditional, The Defense had no idea what to do. She had to see what Brooke would do before she would be able to make her own move but her own move could be a positive priority move, if Brooke used Shadow Ball that is, so she would have to manipulate the flow of time in order to block the attack before she knew it was coming. Surprisingly, The Defense knew little about how to alter time, that power was held by Dialga alone, and so was left to try and figure out a way around this tricky problem.

Meanwhile, Brooke was preparing her next assault on the accused dinosaur. The incredibly familiar ball of crackling energy formed in front of her mouth. The sound of the shrieking spirits filled the Eevee’s powerful ears until she could bear it no longer. She fired the violet-coloured ball down at the unsuspecting form of the Cranidos who had killed a member of her trainer’s pack. Once again, the attack hit The Defense between the eyes, which caused her to stagger back slightly, losing her defensive stance. “So it had been a Shadow Ball after all,” she thought. “Shame I can’t figure out how to go back in time yet.”

Unfortunately, she was destined to spend yet another round pondering how to do this as her second order had been the same as the first. When DarkMoonlight realised the mistake she had made, she knew that this had the potential to ruin not only the battle but her Pokémon’s chances of survival. This battle had an awful lot riding on the outcome and so far it wasn’t going too well.

For the fifth time, Brooke called upon the downright hatred of her opponent to create another ball of violet energy. The spirits had decided only to whisper this time so she didn’t have to put up with their constant shrieking. When the ball of ghostly energy was slightly larger than an orange, the Eevee fired it at the ponderous Cranidos, who had just figured out how to go back in time and save herself. However, the knock to the head she took from the Shadow Ball made her forget everything she had worked out and put her back to square one. Maybe the next round would bear a little more luck for the rock type dinosaur.

DarkMoonlight

[The Defense] Cranidos (F)

HP: 75%
Energy: 38%
Condition: Tired and might be getting the beginnings of a migraine; Special Defence -1.

Osha-WHAT?

[Brooke] Eevee (F)

HP: 84%
Energy: 38%
Condition: Also tired; Defence -1; in Gallery

Notes
For Cranidos’ actions, I took the mean average of the two attacks and rounded them to the nearest number to find the Energy (11).
Shadow Ball- (Eevee -12 Energy; Cranidos -4 HP; 1/5 rolled, 1 needed to lower Special Defence.)
Shadow Ball- (Eevee -12 Energy; Cranidos -5 HP; Special Defence cannot be lowered further.)

Arena Notes
Brooke is in the Gallery. The Defense isn't.
