El Maremoto was determined to make the most of the rain while it was still there. For the second time, her anger caused a colossal blast of water to erupt from the long thin snout; it pummelled the Aggron and even caused some dents in his metal armour. The brute was pushed backwards along the slippery floor by the sheer power of the attack – at one point he was sandwiched between the unstoppable force of the water and the unbreakable defence of the force field. Rocky sagged to the glassy floor – there was no way he could take something like that again.

Fortunately, his trainer had devised a plan to help him avoid further harm. The lumbering steel-type began to run through the torrential rain in a circle around his draconic adversary; the monster got faster as he went until, preposterously, all that could be seen was a blur. The blur gradually slowed down but even then something was wrong – there were three Aggron. Maremoto peered at each of them in turn as if looking for a defining feature: there wasn’t one. Neither the trainers nor Kingdra knew which was the real Rocky and until someone could figure it out, it would be more difficult than ever to finish off the pokémon.

The mighty dragon was not disheartened though; she was still eager to get the battle done. Water welled up inside her throat and was soon projected through the air. The storm now seemed to want to have one last moment of glory before its inevitable death – the already torrential rain started to come down like a solid wall, making it impossible to see more than an inch in front of your face. A bestial roar echoed around the arena and Mawile_rocks sunk to her knees; surely the attack had hit Rocky – it was all over. The rain began to ease off again and visibility improved. SLC already had a poké ball ready to recall his champion; he almost dropped it when he saw that the Aggron was still standing. The attack had only managed to wipe out one of the behemoth’s clones. The match certainly wasn’t over yet.

Purple dragon-fire engulfed the steel-type’s claws as his rage began to build up. He needed to throw everything he could at this Kingdra just to stand a chance. Both the real Rocky and his clone charged at El Maremoto from different angles, meeting just before they struck. Their lethal claws pierced the seahorse’s skin while the strange fire burned inside of her, which caused more damage than similar attacks would. The dragon moved away from his assailant. The rain had all but died out now so her attacks wouldn’t be as powerful although that did mean that she wouldn’t tire out as quickly. Rocky was nearly finished by now – it was just a matter of time. The Aggron glared at his opponent; he needed to strike her down fast if he wanted to win. The question was whether or not he could be quick enough.
