Condition: Not doing badly

Terror took the time to give Rotom another creepy smile before starting to bring down the orange poltergeist. She closed her bloodshot eyes in order to allow her to focus on what she was doing and not get distracted by the outside world. Slowly, steadily, she began to chant an ancient war song – a song that made the most vicious war lord flee and the bravest general tremble in fear. As the chanting went on, a black aura enveloped the Gengar and the air around her seemed to chill to the point where both trainers were shivering. However, Rotom seemed more concerned about a similar black aura which was growing around it; it stared at the mumbling phantom with a look of sheer terror. Then Terror screamed. It wasn’t just any kind of scream – it was the kind of bloodcurdling scream you can only ever get when someone or something is in so much pain that they didn’t want to go on anymore. The scream stopped. Rotom’s face was a picture of terror; it had no idea what was going on but it didn’t like it at all – this didn’t look good. However, Terror didn’t look to good; the curse had taken away a lot of her life force so she was incredibly vulnerable to whatever her rival threw at her.
It did nothing. It had been told to wait and see what its opponent did before attacking, and if she used Curse, which she had, then it had to use Sucker Punch again. Unfortunately, it was too late to use Sucker Punch now and even if it wasn’t then it wouldn’t work. With little else to do, Rotom continued to whimper and watch Terror fearfully.
The Gengar returned her opponents stare with a menacing glare, designed to frighten it even more. But the shadow pokémon was sore – the last attack had taken a lot out of her after all. Thankfully, her trainer knew a way to bring her back to a reasonable level of health while also bringing her opponent down by a peg or two. One claw-like hand reached out towards Rotom as small bursts of black energy detached themselves from the plasmatic body. Terror absorbed these pulses, feeling herself become more reinvigorated with each of them. Meanwhile, her adversary saw its life being sapped away before its very eyes; as you can imagine, it wasn’t best pleased – now was the time for it to act.
Shadows quickly drew into a compact ball and rocketed towards the Gengar who had been responsible for so much pain; it hit in the chest, forcing her to plummet towards the grassy ground until she could correct herself. Rotom continued to watch the phantom as she pushed off the ground and hovered in front of it once again. Maybe he had been wrong about fearing her – this round hadn’t been too bad in the end. Without any sort of warning, intense pain flared up inside of it; it screamed loudly, making its trainer block his ears. Terror watched this and smiled – the curse had worked, all she had to do now was survive the next round. Simple.
