~ Sunny Day
Banette may have been asleep, but that wasn’t going to stop her from continuing the fight with her opponent. Deep within her mind there were areas which had not been permeated by the restoring sleep that had shut down most of her body; it was this part of her that had been determined to hang on, to continue the fight despite the fact that the body was nearly useless. Without the parts of her which made logical decisions or interpreted her trainer’s orders, she was forced to choose an attack she knew completely at random and hope for the best. The move she ended up with wasn’t ideal in that it required her to physically hit the opponent in order for it to work. However, the determination that had gotten the possessed puppet this far hadn’t run out yet – she was going to hit this Flareon and hit her hard. After a couple of twitches to make sure that she had control of her body again, she moved jerkily to her feet and began a lopsided run at Flare. Dark energy swirled around her fist as she went so that one of her hands was coated in the shadows. Her target watched the approach, preparing to make some effort at dodging; her health was already low enough, after all. But then Banette vanished. Everyone blinked and looked again but the fact remained that the pokémon was gone. A second later she was back, but not in the place she had been before; she was next to Flare and had punched her in the side with her dark fist. The orange fox turned with a look of despair on her face; she was too late to do anything now. This wasn’t going well for her.
She now had a chance to replenish her health a little and was going to grasp it with both hands. She closed her eyes and began to mumble a prayer to Arceus, Jirachi and whoever else happened to be listening. A green aura enveloped the praying fox, taking a good deal of energy from her, and then moved away from her body to form an orb, which went on to fly away from the ground and hover above the abandoned stadium like a green sun. Now the Flareon would be healed by quite a bit at the end of the next round – if she could survive until then.
But the ghost-type had other plans, her body may have sagged back down to the ground after the last action but at least part of her mind was still active and eager to cause even more damage to the struggling Flareon. One arm rose above the crumpled body and soon more ethereal energy was swirling around it, creating a ball of tightly packed energy. Banette lazily flicked her wrist, throwing the sphere at Flare; it moved through the air, a writhing mess of blackness that was trying to tear itself apart but was held together by an immensely strong force. It smashed into the wounded eeveelution, hitting the same spot as the punch had. This attack was too much for Flare; the ball had hurt her ribs badly so that she found it difficult to move. She collapsed, on the verge of passing out. “Beaten by a sleeping pokémon,” she thought. “How embarrassing.” While the fox stumbled and fell, the puppet was doing even better than before as new health surged through her. She could certainly put a sizeable dent in whatever came up against her next – as long as she could wake up first.
