Default Re: Foxamivalth vs paperfairy

Prebattle

It feels more like walking into a graveyard than an arena. No one is certain of the cause of this devestation, only that Michael Bay was somehow involved. The ruins are large and thick, smoky clouds hover permanently overhead. Paperfairy and his Garchomp stand poised against Foxamivalth and his Rhyhorn. The air is thick with tension. My hand raises as I declare the battle, for official purposes, and then it drops, signaling them to start.

Garchomp, known throughout the world as the land shark, is far faster than Rhyhorn could ever be. He doesn’t even need to be faster, though, because he doesn’t have to move. He only focuses energy into his arms, and raises them up high. The result, however, is well worth the lack of fanfare. A rumbling is heard, and the ground begins to shake slightly. There’s a cracking sound as the earth in front of Garchomp splits in two, leaving a long fissure separating Garchomp from Rhyhorn. This isn’t the point of the attack, though. The point of the attack is what comes out of the fissure: a large, frothing wall of water erupts from beneath the ground, most likely from some natural underground lake, and rapidly surges forward. The faintest sound of moaning is heard in the air, but goes unnoticed in favor of the Surf attack acting… peculiar. Moving with much more speed than a ground type should be able to give it, and much more force. It slams into Rhyhorn, failing to move him but still dealing a ridiculous amount of damage.

Rhyhorn shakes himself off, though, managing to get around the surprise in order to make a proper assault. He recalls his attack orders, long and confusing though they were. He was supposed to Protect against that attack, but he hadn’t known what was coming in time to get it up, so that was out. That meant according to his orders he was supposed to use Ice Fang. He pawed the ground, then burst forward, running as fast as his heavy body would carry him. Garchomp was panting, still recovering from the unexpected exertion of that attack, and thus wasn’t able to avoid Rhyhorn as he pounced, his teeth glowing pale blue and giving off the faintest bit of frost. They bit into Garchomp’s arm, injecting it with the greatest weakness of all dragons: cold. This attack, too, seemed to have far more put into it than it normally would, as though something was forcing Rhyhorn to give it more than usual, but it went unnoticed by both of them as Garchomp shook Rhyhorn off, sending him flying.

Angered, Garchomp summoned another tidal wave from beneath the ground. This one, due to the severe damage that Rhyhorn had already taken and the energy that that Ice Fang had expended, did manage to pick Rhyhorn up and carry him a short distance, although not much. Rhyhorn was panting now. His body wasn’t built to take water attacks, especially not ones like that. He tried to think of his instructions again, but they were too long, too complicated and convoluted. He needed to keep it nice and simple. First four orders… and he was meant to Ice Fang again. He ran forward and plunged another set of teeth into Garchomp’s side, groaning at the exertion. Garchomp swatted him aside much more easily this time, and they both backed off from each other, trying to catch their breath. Whatever was going on here, this battle would be ending very, very soon.

Ability: Sand Veil
Health: 68
Energy: 62

Foxamivalth

[-] Rhyhorn (M)
Ability: Rock Head
Health: 10

Notes
Protect cannot be used in a wait-and-see conditional. No more than four conditional moves can be issued per action, therefore the last, Rock Polish, was not considered.
All damage and energy costs doubled.
Garchomp uses Surf: deals 45 damage, costs 19 energy.
Rhyhorn uses Ice Fang: Deals 16 damage, costs 30 energy.
Garchomp uses Surf: deals 45 damage, costs 19 energy.
Rhyhorn uses Ice Fang: Deals 16 damage, costs 30 energy.
Paperfairy, your moves please.
