The battle was almost over; everyone could see that by now. The real question was who would come out on top at the end. While Impulse’s energy levels were dangerously low, Gloom was fast asleep and there was no way of telling when he would wake up. This would certainly end as well as it had begun.

Gloom began the round by emitting a tremendous snore, which sent shockwaves through the air. Gulpin shuddered as the waves hit him. The attack was fairly powerful, enough to turn the poison-type it was aimed at into a shivering wreck. However, it wasn’t enough to finish him off so the battle went on.

Impulse, as his counterattack, did nothing. He sat, quivering as he recalled his opponent’s last move and the damage it had done. Even if his trainer had asked him to do something, he wouldn’t have been able to.

He continued to do nothing for a little while after he recovered from the last attack. He didn’t have the energy to put up a fight any more; he just had to hope that Gloom ran out of his own quickly.

However, the toxic-plant seemed to still have enough to last for now. Another shockwave-making snore erupted from his mouth. Impulse trembled as the waves blasted him, but he seemed to have gotten any fear of them out of his system. He stood his ground against the attack and was still standing after it. However, it wouldn’t take very much at all to finish him now – this would be over soon.
