Whatever had just happened seemed to worry Tsali as she flapped around the arena. Although she seemed to have the advantage at the moment, she had no doubt that her opponent had many tricks up her sleeve. She would need some sort of protection if she wanted to stand a chance against a battler like this. Flying close to the ground, she scraped up some of the soil and began to mould it. Slowly, the soil began to fit the shape of her body and became like a mud-doll of the dragon. With the body now in place, Tsali wasted no time in bringing it to life; she placed her hands on its head and channelled her energy into the motionless model. The link was kept open for several seconds before the Dragonite decided that she had put enough energy into the figure and moved away. The doll followed her, and hovered by her left wing, ready to defend her from whatever Mrs Thousand Spirits tried to throw their way.

Mrs Thousand Spirits cursed when she saw her opponent’s guardian take its post. Her original plan went out of the window and she had to go back to her back-up plan. Knowing that attacking the original Tsali would be useful and so, when she shot forwards, she was aiming at the substitute. The model braced itself as the ghost rushed towards her. When the attack hit, the dragon’s guardian stood firm – the attack wasn’t enough to destroy it yet.

And Tsali wasn’t keen to let the spirit get too many more chances. The ground shook as she roared, calling up more purple flames. She shot upwards into the sky before diving down towards Spiritomb, who didn’t have a hope of dodging. The Dragonite blasted into the collection of spirits, leaving a trail of burning grass behind her. Mrs Thousand Spirits bellowed in pain – she knew that she couldn’t stand too many more of those.

In fact, the pain was so great that she found herself unable to move. No matter how hard she tried, her body wouldn’t respond and she was left standing helplessly. On the other hand, things weren’t going brilliantly for Tsali either; the same pain shot through her body once again, making her cringe and howl. She couldn’t take another of these and be standing at the end of it – she was sure of that. This was going to be a tense ending to the first part of the battle.
