Press Release
Nintendo of America Inc., distributor of both video and trading card games for the Pokemon franchise, detonates a new expansion of the card game with the announcement of the May 9 release of the Pokemon Trading Card Game: EX Emerald. Legendary Pokemon come to life once again to create some of the strongest forces to date.

EX Emerald bursts with over 90 new cards, including holographic basic energy cards, creating new strategic options. The Legendary Regice, Regirock and Registeel are just three of the new Pokemon-ex available. EX Emerald offers players the opportunity to battle Legendary Pokemon of the Hoenn region, as well as discover a new forme of the popular Deoxys. Finally, the set offers even more of the popular and powerful Pokemon-ex cards.

The expansion will be available in two 60-card theme decks, Pokemon TCG: EX Emerald Wildfire and Pokemon TCG: EX Emerald Hydrobloom, as well as nine-card booster packs.

"Each new expansion of the Pokemon Trading Card Game continues to energize the game," says Gail Tilden, Nintendo's Vice President, Brand Management. "EX Emerald focuses on making the battles quicker and more tactical than ever."
