Default Question about learning new moves

Hey, I was wondering.. if a pokemon learns a certain move only after it evolves at a certain level then will it still learn it if you evolve it later? Like say how Espeon (an evolved Eevee) learns Confusion at lvl 15.. would the Eevee still learn Confusion if I evolved it passed lvl 15?

ie I evolve Eevee at lvl 20 into Espeon. But Espeon learns Confusion at lvl 15. Would the Eevee still learn Confusion once it evolves?

And what if I evolve the Eevee at a much higher level (ie lvl 99).. would it skip all those moves?

thanks

ps. such a pain to catch good IV dittos...

No, an evolved Pokemon learns no moves that it would have learned at an earlier level. If you evolved Eevee at level 20 Espeon would not learn Confusion... and if you evolved it at level 99 you'd have one crappy Espeon. However, the Move Tutor could help you with this problem.

Lies. Espeon does not care when it is evolved as long as it's after level 36, and even that's only good for Baton Pass.

Though I could probably look this up.. what are Heart Scales and how many do you need to relearn moves? I've seen the NPC but have no idea how the mechanics work for him. Do I get to pick what move I want to learn? Can I unlearn HM moves this way?

You only need one Heart Scale to learn/relearn a move. You get them from The Underground, and yes, you pick what move.

You can't unlearn HMs this way, though. There's a separate NPC for that.

Thanks a bunch,

I was levelling up some pokemon in the daycare center to test for IVs.. but then I remembered that they might miss moves along the way. Is there a safe accurate level to IV test them without having to like feed candies to each, turn off the game, and restart for each pokemon to be tested?

I typically raise them to about lvl 20 in daycare center then IV test.
