there is a real vid on youtube on the battle recorder, and obviously you don't need a DSI[new ds] to play it, because the DSI will be released on April 5, 2009, which is after the release of pokemon platinum. If it required the new ds they would have released pokemon platinum when the DSI would be available to the US. happy gaming~

Generally, all DS systems will be able to play Platinum. Green Special could you give a link to the YouTube Video so I can check it out?

Me and a friend decided to go to walmart to get platinum on the minute of release.
Walmart had the special edition with the figurine and the case. we also bought the giant guide book as well.

anyone else swarm like a combee anywhere to get platinum. ahh bad joke...

Before you ask yes, you could call me a pokemon fanboy.
a white DS. a Special edition D/P DS. 3 giratina figurines.(don't know how I ended up with so many.)

how did you end up with so many???
i just pre-ordered it off the internet and the game is being delivered to my house with the figurine and a special edition platinum DS case and i also have a special edition pokemon DS....I'M A FANBOY TOO!!!

Well, I was at Bestbuy. and turns out, after they do a week of reserves they end up selling the promo items they were giving away. so theres number one.

I had a reserve at gamestop. number two. (i may cancel it, i may buy a second copy, who knows.)

and then in the special edition tonight. Number 3, haha

for the record.
When I pressed A to start my platinum file..
I jumped...cause I wasnt expecting that loud sound to come out of Giratina. lulz.

Man, that guide book is huge. o.O What's in it?
I'm guessing it's just listing out every Pokemon that takes up so much space.

Jealous, btw. Nintendo Aus could at least give us an official release date over here. xD

What's in this guide book.
To be honest, this may sound vague but, EVERYTHING.
It's got your basic walkthough.
and I know many of you have read reviews on how advanced Platinum is going to be, so the guide is just as advanced, it goes even further in how to help you raise and train your pokemon, and the rest, well, I think If I go any further, I may spoil some suprises.

This book is absolutely massive.
for 20 bucks, compared to the size of most other guides, this book is most def. worth the money.
Plus it comes with a mini poster of the under and the sinnoh region.
and another large poster of dialga, palkia, and Giratina.

p.s. - yes it does list every pokemon known(to date) just like the Ultimate National Pokedex book(which I have) and this book is still bigger than it, Its incredible all the stuff thats in this book.

I have a question... I just got Platinum today and, I traded a female Abomasnow LV. 100 to it. Whenever I use it to battle, it either doesn't do anything, takes a nap, or dis-obays me. What are some ways for me to get it to be-friend me?

You need all 8 gym badges for it to fully obey you.

Ok, so I have beaten the gym leader and beat the person who has ice types. I also just say my "rival" at the lake in that vincitiy. Now what...? Where do I go?
