Re: True Gamer Society [TGS] - Borderlands/Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack In Time so
Hmm, I've been playing a lot of RPG's this year. So here's a small review of each of them:
Fallout 3- This was an absolute blast. It's the only sandbox game that I actually explored and had fun doing. No complaints.
Eternal Sonata- Wonderful story and music. The battle system was tough at times, but most rewarding when you get the hang of it. A definite jrpg favorite.
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion- Had I not played Fallout 3 first, this game might have been fun. But, it just wasn't... great. Might be because I had a bad start. I dunno. Kinda lost interest after the second main quest.
Mass Effect- The main thing that kept me playing was the story, characters, and dialogue. Virmire sucked cause I didn't want to lose anyone. Combat and planetary exploring was just a pain to do. The ending was awesome though.
Fable: The Lost Chapters- Yes, the original. This was simply fun and I can easily see myself playing through it again. If you loved the second, I'm sure you'd love this one too.
Fable II- Only the free Chapter 1 download. Controls took some getting used to, since Fable TLC was on my computer. But same response, this looks to be a fun game that I could purchase somewhere down the line. I hear a GOTY edition might be on its way.
Lost Odessey- Oops, I still haven't played it yet.
---
As much as it pains me to wait (Borderlands, COD, Sabateur), I'll not be buying any new games coming out this winter. At least, until I play/beat these older games I keep buying for low, low prices. Just finished The Bourne Conspiracy, so 10 more to go! Not sure what to play next...

I agree with you about most of those, Jack. I actually found Eternal Sonata to be pretty easy once you got the Harmony Chains though.

You know, after watching some of the trailers and stuff, I suddenly want this game. Like, really desperately want it.
I was going to get myself a nice warm hoodie for my birthday, but I'm considering getting this instead. Damn you, BioWare.

This.
I'm slightly surprised to be saying this, but it's probably my favorite RPG I've ever played...ever.
I'm not even kidding.

Well, I didn't intend to say that being a "AAA" title correlates with how well something sells, but rather that "AAA" titles either go huge or become cult games based on how well-known the name becomes. People don't usually talk about Big Bang Mini because it really wasn't put out too prominently, but I think it's one of the best games for the DS - I'd say it destroys Geometry Wars.

Re: True Gamer Society [TGS] - Borderlands/Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack In Time so
Hai still alive. I really should be more active in here, but I don't go through games that quickly and rarely have things worth mentioning.
Anyway, I reaaaaally want the Black Edition of Assassin's Creed II (bonus content+awesome figure=win, and the Master Edition can go die), but unfortunately it's UK exclusive because Ubisoft are jerks. I've got a system set up (potentially, depending on a single unconfirmed link), but before I go through with ordering it I'm hoping someone here that I actually trust as opposed to random people who get Googled can confirm this. Is it true that PS3 disks are very conveniently not region locked?

I've got some good news for Mass Effect fans. It looks like at least one of your party members returns in the sequel!
:D
There's also a cool new video here. Yay.
EDIT: The limited edition of the game was also revealed; it has quite a sexy cover. I'm changing my reservation.

Well, if it's for PS3, you should at least take comfort in knowing that you picked up the better version.

So if I understood, all the characters are back? Except the one you lost on Virmire obviously.

Good thing I haven't pre-ordered yet :D
For all of those who haven't played Dragon Age, you really should. It's one of the best RPGs I've ever played, and tops Mass Effect easily. Bioware realy outdid themselves this time. :O

Man, I swear, I can't even come close to catching up with all of the awesome games coming out.
You guys are right though, Dragon Age Origins does look like yet another incredible game. Very tasty graphics on that one.

I was just about to ask my grandmother for it for an early Christmas present. It looks absolutely awesome, and from what I can tell has more replayability than any other sandbox game ever.

What's up with Tom Morello? Morello as in RATM/Audioslave?

Oh.
Halo Reach, AKA Halo Sorry-About-ODST.
The only FPSs I care about in 2010 are Resistance 3 and Killzone 2, but I have my eye on Halo Reach. With the exception of BioShock 2 as its equal parts FPS and RPG and will be win.

That's what it seems like, although it hasn't been officially confirmed (with the exception of Garrus).
Speaking of Mass Effect 2, there's another new trailer here that shows some of the new enemies.
You know how all the teasers and stuff said that humans were suddenly disappearing? This video tells you why. :o
