Re: To Write a Book...
I voted earlier, but was too lazy to comment. >_>
Anywho, if I were in a book store, and had a choice of Parasyte and Skin Deep, I would pick Parasyte hands down. Skin Deep sounds like a book written by a woman who faced adversity as a child because of her color. Not to mention, there are a handful of books already named that. (Seriously. Google how many books are named Skin Deep).
Parasyte all the way - although I like Lusankya's suggestion of Visceris too. :D

Listen to Neo. Parasyte it is. :3
And those 3 parasites look like 3 different species altogether... or are they actually? @_@
Good luck. :)

Re: To Write a Book...
Parasyte definitely.
I Google'ed Skin Deep and here is what I found:
The Skin Deep Clothing Company
Skin Deep: Cosmetic Safety Database
Skindeep Medi-Spas
Skin Deep Tattoo Studio
Skin Deep Beauty Therapy Melbourne
And they're just the first few.

Re: To Write a Book...
I'm not particularly fond of either, but I'd choose Skin Deep between the two.

They're the same species, just different stages. Parasites in different stages of life don't really resemble each other. Same with insects; they start out as larva, pupate, and become an adult that rarely resembles the "baby" form.
Lusy, would Visceris Bestiola be a roughly appropriate translation for Internal Insect or something? I mean, these parasites don't live in a person's intestines or anything; two forms live in the brain and the other at the base of the skull. Still, it sounds nice and sinister lol.
And wow, title war lol.
Thanks for the comments and well-wishes and stuff, gaiz. Nice to have support, ya know? I'll prolly start working on the prologue here in a few days.

Yeah, that's roughly appropriate. Bestiola is more like any kind of small creature, but like I said, I don't know of any real Latin word for "insect" (the scientific name for the class of insects is just "Insecta").
But really, if it's a scientific name you're looking for, a translation of "Internal Insect" is not what you want. You first need a genus name, then a species name. Visceris might work for a species name with a little modification, but for a genus name, you ought to look at the scientific names of insects that are similar to your parasite.

I know that, but it just doesn't seem to fit...

I think Bestiola would be better for the species name, really, if it fits for any kind of small creature. As for the genus name I'll do some research into finding out which one this icky little thing fits in lol. Thanks for the advice 8D.
And lol Pikabeng. These parasites are more like insects, like a parasitic wasp or summat, than most other parasites that live inside a creature. Really, it would have been more odd to make them resemble one another beyond the body segmentation and the legs that are pretty much the same between the second and third stages. I wanted to keep them looking vaguely similar yet obviously different. I guess I succeeded ^^.

Re: To Write a Book...
Wheee, okay, I got a species name for these nasty little things ^^. They're the same creature, technically, despite going through changes like an insect. That means all three forms are the same species (unlike how maggots and flies are different species, though they're the family line and all). Thus, they all share the same genus and species. Their scientific name is Eosentomon bestiola, or E. bestiola ^^. Bestiola might not be an actual species name or anything, but meh, I'm using it as one. After all, most of this book is fiction, so why not one of them names, too? :P
To differentiate between stages, there'll be a number after the name. So like E. bestiola1 would be the first stage. Maybe not how they do things in the scientific community, but it'll serve for the purpose of the book lol.

Well, I personally think visceria would be better, as species names are supposed to be specific to that particular species only. Therefore, they should be about a particular more-or-less unique quality of that species that differentiates it from other species. I also think it sounds cooler xD But whatever, it's your book. :3

I thought visceria referred to something that lived in like the intestines, though? These parasites live at the base of the skull and in the brain, so could it still apply to them?

Well, viscera is the plural of viscus, which means an organism's internal organs, if that helps.
Oh, and I changed my mind. Both titles are bad imo, and I think you should try to think of a new one. Many have stated why Skin Deep is bad, and I already explained my objections to Parasyte.

Re: To Write a Book...
title war again 8]
I'd choose Skin Deep, between the two. Parasyte sort of gives it away and you'll know its gonna be about bugs or something :S Skin Deep I think is pretty cool but I've already read a book called Skin Deep, and its about a woman living in Africa & talking about the torture she suffers :/ So yeahhh... But good luck on the book and I'll soooo read it when it comes out.
