WELCOME ONE AND ALL TO NINA'S GALLERY OF AWESOME!
Here I have placed various drawings for all of you to view!
A lil bout me~
I am a young artist with quite a passion for art, Pokemon, AND Anime/Manga. All I ever do is draw and I absolutely LOVE to share my pics with the world! I specialize in animals, mostly canines, and I am slowly perfecting my Pokemon art. XD Humans give me the most trouble while hands and fingers are my worst. They be my weak point, BUT that doesn't stop me from drawing them! XD
Now
nuff about me
here is my art~
Spoiler:
NEWEST
A Re-draw of that old Namikawa pic here. I have actually improved. <3
I am very proud of this. <3 Credit to Chibiki for the star brushes. [link]
Hey, I like your artwork. It's a cool style. I've never been to the fanart forum so I don't know the rules, but I can suggest some things to help you out for your new one. First of all, The Luceon's legs look a little weird. I believe they should be straight. It's like a human balancing on his or her heels. Maybe define the feet? The Abstail's head look like it is curved in a weird direction. Like, a bit to the right. It should be straighter. Also, its tail and scythe should be less curved. But that is all I have to say, it is very nice
(In response to your post...Oh. I keep on criticizing stuff that looks strange but has a purpose, lol)

Hmmm
about your crits
The reason Luceons feet are like that
is because I ran out of paper space. ^^; Can't really fix it
As for Abstails, she is turning her head, spinning it to whip up the whirlwind needed for Razor Wind~!

Nice work! I see you included Luceon. I IS HAPPY! Anyways, your art is similair to that of one of my classmates, he does that sort of manga-ish style, but he doesn't draw pokemans. Do you scan your drawing using a printer? Cuz I'll start an art thread if I learn how to scan...

alright..im not going to be like, "oh nice job" and ignore the poor skills and mistakes. But please don't get mad ok?
i really dont know how old you are, but this is really...not that good. It needs ALOT of work, you have some talent, all you need is tons of experience. the faces on your pokemon look terrible, i think you might be going for your own style, but even so, its horrible. You have to really make sure their bodies are correctly proportioned, and if they are posed, for them to be correctly posed, if not, it just looks wrong..Shading would really really work, well, it works for any drawing, try drawing less sketchy, more clean.
I'm sure you love drawing pokemon and anime stuff, from someone who's been there, i really recommend for you to try out drawing other things, a lot of real life objects and humans. Even if they won't come out right, it doesn't matter, it'll only be practice, so you'll just be getting better. It was like that with me, if i was to stop drawing anime at a young age, i believe i would've been 5 times better than i am now. Using different medias besides pencil and coloring are also something that could somewhat hold you back. Try drawing in only pen, trust me, it'll help alot on making sure you are more precise, erase less, and make things look better. Because using a pen at first, you have one thing in mind, "dont mess up dont mess up dont mess up" and soon after you get used to drawing and shading in pen, it'll be second nature to you. I don't know how you are about other mediums, but i advice for you not to use PS(photoshop), i believe that, that program tends to make an artist lazy, or any person who can use a program, to be called an "artist"(im a traditionalist, don't try to argue with me).
hmm...i think thats all the tips i can give you on basics and such.
Some media you might enjoy, try out Prisma colors(yeah, theyre a tiny bit pricey). They are like color pencils, but the color is rich, oily and such, so you can blend colors together to make different colors. With those, NEVER ever press hard, and of course..Dont use black, make black.
Oil Pastels will SAVE YOU. trust me.lol, lets say your coloring something and a certain part comes out wrong or you used a wrong color, you can top it with oil pastels,it'll cover the color and make it look good. And with those, as well, can blend with other oil pastels, and do all sorts of effects to the paper after applying oil pastels. Oil Pastels might be messy and stuff, because theyre all oily, real real oily, but its worth it, the things you can do with them.
and well, i hope my little tips helped, or will help. I look forward to seeing you progress:) and remember two things, whatever anyone might say about your art, dont let it get you down, just ignore it(unless its criticism, which is what i did) and also, Art= 10% Talent, 90% Pratice

Hey, dude. Harsh comments = not cool. If you wanna give crit, give crit like Shy did. To be honest, right there you sound a bit like an obnoxious prick. She asked for NO CRITS at all in her first post, meaning that you apparently didn't even read the first post. If no crit is wanted, don't give it. Even if crit is wanted, what you gave is harsh criticism that some artists may specifically ask for, yet Nina didn't.

Thank you for all of those crits and tips.
Once I am able to raise enough money, I'll be sure to buy those supplies. ^^
I'll try harder to be much better than this, I'll also try to do realism and other objects/things. ^^ I now know I should work on my faces, that I will do~

Yeah, I agree, it's okay to give criticism, but...Not so harsh. You sound so obnoxious. But there are a few things good about his criticism. I will point those out. He was sort of write (pun intended) about attempting to draw in pen. People who can draw in pen can become very skilled. Drawing in pen is something I am currently practicing. Also, he said to stop drawing anime style. Don't do that. You should still practice drawing realisticly, but no way should you stop doing the anime style. You are pretty good at it, but do both. He also mentioned Prisma colors. Adding on to that, a tip is to sketch using a normal pencil, sketch over it in the black prisma color, then shade in with a regular pencil.

Ah okay! :3 I'll try pen drawing now~
No worries, I'll ALWAYS continue to draw anime. XD I'll be working on realism too. ^^
Ah I see... Hmmm
Where do I purchase these Prisma colors at? I live in Kentucky. ^^ Are they available at Hobby Lobby?
