Why does my partner desert me?

So i play PKMN Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky. I am currently in Hidden Land, but i can't defeat Dusknoir! We always defeat the Sableye and right at the last minute, my partner gets a green puff of smoke & runs away! This also happens when we are in dungeons. Does amybody know how i can stop this???

I am a totodile at level 40
My partner is an Eevee at level 40
I dont have any items except the ones i can find in the dungeon.

You probably set his tactics to "Stay out of Trouble" or "Get away from there."

Set it to "lets go together" and he will stop running off.

Another possible suggestion is that your partner is Eevee? The ability of Eevee is "Run Away," in which Eevee gains the "terrified" status and flees from the battle. This only occurs, however, when Eevee reaches the middle of its HP or below. A simple way to cure this is to give it an Oran Berry every time the green smoke appears. Hope I helped. ;D
