Re: [WAR 9] Shizen no Senshi: Spirit Guardian Samurai
Awthanks guys. Speaking of which--it would be cool if we could think of some good colors/symbols/mascots whatever, because I need that for the sprite contest. Otherwise I'll just... improvise? Haha. I actually realized that Leafeon would be good, because of its Pokedex ability to purify the air and be all nature-like and such, and also because it uses primarily sword-like attacks (Leaf Blade, X-Scissor, etc in particular). So I guess I'm proposing Leafeon and Scyther, maybe Shiftry, and a sort of green/tan/brown/maybe blue earth tones color scheme?

Re: [WAR 9] Shizen no Senshi: Spirit Guardian Samurai
Leafeon sounds like a good one to me. Esepcially since it's going away from the samurai-like look. But I also do think Shiftry is a good candidate.
And aren't red and yellow the MAIN samurai colours? Going off of what I've seen in anime, movies and books and stuff. But since we are nature samurai, I'd say something like green and brown.
As for symbols for Nature and Samurai... Bonsai Tree?

Actually, no, not at all. Blue and black were far more common. Anime = not history xDD
Bonsai trees sounds good. (Bonsly? XD) Maybe bamboo too? Sakura?

Today's plan: Finish my writing entry, make another fail-of-a-humor-entry that wins by default like yesterday, and procrastinate the music entry yet again.

Shiftry looks the most samurai-like to me, though he looks more 'strong angry samurai' than anything else. Scyther makes sense, as does others like Kabutops and whatnot. But, fitting with the whole nature-ness as well, Leafeon fits in well.
Mmm, improvisation XD.

SO I GUESS IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO MAKE MY GFX ENTRY BLUE AND BLACK THEN, HUH?
And ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffanime. I CAN NEVER TRUST IT.
My sprite entry'll probably be a bonsai tree. I've gotta enter SOMETHING.

Shiftry reminds me of Shredder from Ninja Turtles. ... Don't kill me.

I like Shiftry because it's a tengu. Complete with a long nose and geta feet. xD

Re: [WAR 9] Shizen no Senshi: Spirit Guardian Samurai
Week 1's writing entry is up. I still have yet to edit it, i'll do that tommorrow.
For now, any feeback/advice would be nice, before I publish it to the War 9 Writing Thread.

You do realize that for it to matter you would have to score higher than Hoshika's day one entry, right? Even if you are the only person who enters rounds three and four, you're not going to win unless you improve significantly over your round 2 entry.

No offense, man, you're a nice guy and a decent member, but I don't like the way you handled that whole section. You made the humor section way too much work for one, single point.

Re: [WAR 9] Shizen no Senshi: Spirit Guardian Samurai
Ah... Samurai. Of course, Neo Pikachu had absolutely no idea that Oriental culture (especially Japanese culture) is my favorite. Or did he...?
Eh. Anyway, I am going to make a banner for this team, and enter it in the contest.
Also, on the debate of a team mascot, I was thinking Froslass (essentially a kimono with a head) or Hariyama.
What?
What?!
It is based off of a sumo wrestler...
...
Okay, not the best choice.
Maybe Celebi... (strong nautre ties) or Lucario... (somewhat ninja-like)...

Frosslass is actually based off a Yuki-onna, and while definitely Japanese, that's not really befitting a samurai. Same with Hariyama; sumo wrestling is actually a highly religious sport and it has nothing to do with samurai culture. Lucario's not really ninja-like imho, but even if it was, the samurai and the ninja have little in common--in fact, they were enemies. Celebi is valid but I think there are better options.
...just my opinion lulz D:
