Scenario one: You have a Gengar with no EVs. You fight with him until he has 255 EVs in SA. Once he gains a level and his stats are recalculated, assuming his nature is neutral to SA, his special attack will be about (255/4 * 90/100) higher than if he had no EVs. (That's an extra 56 stat points.) This, of course, will be recalculated every level until the level is maxed out and the difference in stats is (255/4 * 100/100), or 63.

Scenario two: You have a gastly with 255 EVs in SP and 255 in SA. By the time he becomes a lv100 Gengar, all other things being equal, he will have the exact same stats as the Gengar in scenario one.

Remember, stats recalculate completely every time you level-up. It doesn't matter when you get your EVs; it only matters how many you have.

How did you get 33 fights, by the way? That's more than you need if you have Pokérus and a power item.
