Winter Writing Competition '10
{by Emma}
So here we are, guys. For most of you, it's winter! The snow has piled up, the Christmas trees are up, and those thicker coats are taken to school. For some of us, however, the leaves on the palm trees stay green.
So now for some rules. Of course, only URPG members can participate. The URPG story you submit must be graded and end in a successful capture in order to qualify as an entry. ONLY post your story on ONE FORUM, just like any other story. Only one entry is allowed per person.
Graders: If you grade a story that is entered in this competition, post the grade, delete it, and PM a copy of it to the author; the same goes for re-grades. Myself and Scourge will handle these grades when Wages come around, so don't worry about it.
Deadlines:
- Entry deadline is from December 2nd - January 2nd. See below for Voting deadlines.
Prizes:
1st Place: The Legendary Pokémon of your choosing and $10,000.
2nd Place: You receive $5,000 and an awesome thumbs-up.
Depending on how many people enter, there may be more prizes.
Those Who Have Written Above All Else:
1~ Jag
2~ Marth
3~ Shroomish
4~ Jack of Clovers
5~ Fair
6~ Neo Pikachu
7~ DaRkUmBrEoN
8~ Pokemon Trainer Sarah
9~ Seawolf
10~ DaRkUmBrEoN
11~ Seawolf
12~ Tyranitar_Trainer
13~ Fever
14~ Phantom Kat
15~ Bryce
16~ Sequentio
17~ Kai-Mei
18~ Tú?!!
Voting:
- This competition, just like all the others, will be done through rounds. The voter reads the stories in the round and then PM me with their top three stories, rating them from first place to third place with short summaries of each. First place equals three points. Second place equals two points. Third place equals one point. After the voting period is over, I will tally up the points for each story and move on the next round.
- When sending your PMs, please keep your summaries and ratings organized and neat. It makes it much easier to tally up votes without trying to figure out what the PM means.
- Votes without summaries will not be counted. You just need at least two sentences for each story, guys.
- Voters will get paid for voting; the amount depends on the amount of stories in each round and their length.
- Only URPG members can vote. Those who are participating in the competition can vote. If your story is in the round you vote in, you get three points added to your total score.
- Please vote for the best stories, not for your friends. The reason these competitions have been so successful and long-running is because voters are honest and truly want to see the best story win.

I will force myself to make an entry for this one (watch me not do anything. Again.)

Maybe I'll have beginner's luck?
I'm going to try to take a shot at this.

Re: Winter Writing Competition '10
Hmm... With Seq not here to push me out of the way, I just might have a chance of winning it this time.
I should have it finished by the due date, if I focus... Is it okay to enter it a day late? I'll be away for about 3 days, including the first of January.
Ah, who am I kidding? Writing a story this short should be a breeze for me xD

Though I didn't really feel like coming back home, I'm glad I have a stable internet connection again. :)

Hehe, as I was writing your username, I wanted to change "kaiki" to "kaikki" since I'm studying Finnish and "kaikki" means "all." xD
Anyway, your story is added.

And yours is added, too. :)
Hopefully we get more entrants here. Tomorrow/later today, I'll also add BMG's entries onto the list.

I thought that entries had to be done by today.
Or is that by the end of today?

Entries can be entered until the end of today, January 2nd. When I posted that, it was already 2:30am, so it was already the 2nd. That's why I said "later today."^^;
