Disregard the hole in his right wing. =P It's just the usual hole in lined paper. I'll try to fix that at some point. And you'll probably notice the mistake I made, , but I don't think it's that noticable. It's still cool though, right?
@ UndyingFury: That's pretty good~! I like the colors and the expression/pose combo; I also like the big giant claws XD I also like the little text at the bottom; that's a neat touch. ^^
However, the anatomy is a bit off in some places. I don't know if it's supposed to be that way, but the arms look a bit large for the body.
That being said, how does pe2k like my avatar? I'd present a bigger image, but there... isn't one. Ten internets to whoever can tell WHAT the yellow-light thing in the background is.
And no, Subject Delta is not the answer I seek.
I laughed, I cried, I testified;
And in the end found this world altogether lacking.
I'm working on an earth tone project in color theory, and I'm new to acrylic paint.
It's unfinished, but I want to know if it's alright so far =]
The background will be very dark, nearly black. I'm thinking of maybe a reddish brown
tone do go along with the warm feel of the whole thing itself. Someone else said to
counter-act the warm with cool, using a deep, blue-green tone, but I feel like it might
make it look pukey. Especially if I'm making the smoke grey with red earth tones as well.
What do you think?
Sorry for the awful picture quality. When I'm done, I'll scan it.
In this case, I think that a dark green with touches of blue would make a good background color since it would let the dragon and the smoke stand out. As long as you add a touch of blue to the green, the picture won't look like vomit at all. But don't use too much blue. >:|
In the end, you'll be able to adjust as you paint. :d
Also, if you used a reddish brown as a background color I fear it would make the smoke stand out more than the dragon, and I'm pretty sure that isn't what you want.
ANYWAY enough advice. I really like this! You painted the dragon wonderfully. :) Good luck in your class!
I wanted a tatoo, but it had to be something that had meaning to me. For me, it's always been dreamcatchers. Ever since I had nightmares as a small child, I've had a dreamcatcher with me.
So I knew the tatoo had to be one of those. I wanted to make it myself though, so I tried a few things and came up with the below.
It has the resemblance to a dreamcatcher, including my favorite animal, the dolphin, wrapped on the inside. It's tail will represent the feathers, the ball in the middle will be a pearl and also where the dreamcatcher's web ends I guess.
Took me a little while, but I really like it.
