The Ranger handed the Trainer a Pokeball, which he eagerly snatched from her hand. He tossed said ball at the Lairon before him. It bounced off of Lairon's armor with a loud chink, right before it snapped open in midair and released a beam of red energy at Lairon. The beam engulfed the iron-clad Pokemon in a light of the same color before rearranging the Pokemon's loosely packed atoms into a loose collection of molecules that fit into the Pokeball neatly, to be put back in their ordinary places once the Pokemon was let loose again. The ball fell to the ground with the usual wobbles; however, it pinged rather quickly and the Trainer suddenly had a big lumbering behemoth made of steel. Huzzah!

Charizard, who just woke up from a nap and would really rather get back to it, opens the battle with a menacing growl, hoping to intimidate his foe off so he can return to dreamland. La Tormenta doesn't back down, but the frankly terrifying sound of a flying firebreathing lizard three times his height does cause him to shrink back a bit.

However, he's still a brave little tyke, and his claws are ready to meet Charizards face. He extends them as far as they'll go, and leaps, easily reaching Charizard's height. He draws his hand back, and the slashes, his claws leaving a trail of purple draconic energy behind them. It strikes Charizard across the face. No mark is made, and frankly Charizard barely feels it, but it still annoys him, and he digs his feet in, prepared to get serious.

La Tormenta gulps.
