New Trainers Association - Open - Pokemon Forum

This Association will be your first real step on your journey to becoming a competitive battler. Have you been looking for more experienced battling? Want to learn how to build a competitive team? If so, this is the place for you.
The Association has been created to help the future competitive battlers of PE2K. Every member of the association can post freely with ANY question they have.
The Association will have a staff that will be available to respond to your question and give you suggestions.

Things to know about the Association:
.This is not a battling clan. Although, there will be a lot of opportunities for battles and, eventually, a tourney.
.The Associations goal is to help train anyone who is willing learn and has the time.
.There will be several opinions on what move sets, pokemon and natures are best for your teams. It is up to you to use this information and make the choice on there own.
(Maybe even experiment with each idea for your own play style?)
.The Association is meant to be a team, the members are encouraged to help each other out.
.There will be chances for members to get Pokemon to help them reach a goal. Wifi access is needed.

About Me:I am a swimmer, i like to read, i play basketball, baseball, and im in HS. I have a gf, who likes pokemon, but is not good at competitions. I also refuse to use any other weather, besides sun teams. i have ocd, and i have to undertand the reasons behind things before i can successfully use it. i dont understand the reasons behind most sand and rain teams, because people will give me incomplete, or wrong info D: So, im stuck with sun, which is easy for me, compared to the others.

You seem like a very athletic person! im glad that you joined. any question you have about rain or sand please ask here. some of the most talented battlers on this forum are going to be helping out on here.
The first big step would be creating an official rmt in the rmt section. If your not ready for that, we need a pokemon you want to start with .

Welcome, were in the same gmt-5 which is cool. I think its great that you have access to both, having po will help with the testing, but will have to remember po is good for testing but training on wifi is tough but worth it. getting you battling in both would be awesome.
hey man, i would think being an rpg official means you have some experince. RPG is based on battling, so you have know the moves and whats effective.
First question, did you beat black and white and how much do you know about breeding ?

Welcome Unknownx, Is today your first day here at pe2k ?
Its cool to see that you want to learn both 4th and 5th, a lot of people around here love the 4th gen. The 5 gen has some extremely strong pokemon that you need to watch out for but gives you the awesome option of 5th gen ou, and 5th gen dream world :)
which games do you have ?
PO is an online simulator, that gives you a chance to build a team without breeding pokemon. you then use those pokemon online to battle, you can find tons of matchs. PO is awesome and extremely fast paced,but youll see a lot of the same stuff, wifi gives a chance to test out your creativity.

what is a good fire type pokemon? need it against ice/steel types :(

Well, good fire types, such as physical ones, are infernape and arcanine. i prefer arcanine as a sort of suicide attacker, with flare blitz, wild charge, close combat and extremespeed, and the item as choice band. for special attackers, and more bulk, heatran is very good, especially with flash fire.

you can consider a fighting type because it can beat stell and ice, but that depends on which stell type your talking about.

tran is great on your team for that reason, hows the rmt coming ? almost finished?
