Breeding chain for Deino with both Earth Power and Dark Pulse? - Pokemon Forum

Is it possible? Both of these moves are on the moves list, but I was wondering if they can be gotten together.

I'm looking to make a special attacker Hydregion and don't have any room for another Poke to have Ground attacks in the team I'm planning. If it's not possible to have Earth Power together with Dark Pulse, what other special type Ground move would work?

And while we're at it, what would be a good EV setup and held item for this Poke?

Any help is appreciated.

...Why Special Sweep? I mean, I understand why, with its colossal sp.atk, but for the dark type part. Only STaB special dark type move it gets is Dark Pulse, and, no unfortunately, they can't be coupled :( if it was in the field egg group you could've used Smeargle, but it's not, so you can't. Sorry. But on the EV spread... Mixed attacker: 0/252/0/252/0/4 or solid special 4/0/0/252/252. Held item depends on moveset really, but a rocky helmet maybe?

You have to choose either Dark Pulse or Earth Power. But to be honest either Move isn't exactly the most useful. You could try spread of:

-Draco Meteor
-Dragon Pulse
-Fire Blast/Flamethrower
-Focus Blast

If you wanted I guess you could run EP or DP in the last slot, but he needs the fighting type attack more.

I'd probably kill off dragon pulse for dark pulse, he's already got Draco meteor, right?

yes, but Dragon is such a better attack type than Dark. Dragon Pulse has 100% acc and does not lower his Sp.Atk

Touché. Then get rid of Draco Meteor ^_^ because I reckon it's probably better to only have one move of each type in a set, unless one is a status move.

That is typically the right thing to do, however Dragon is a special case. It hits every single type in the game except for Steel. Not a lot of things can stand up to a Draco meteor, Dragon pulse is the "clean up" move. Remaining two attacks are to cover Steel types. Dark just isn't a good compliment to Dragon. This is why Garchomp got banned because of his super sexy Dual Stab ( that and other things)

Basically it's exactly because of the "colossal special attack" as you put it.

Ok guys maybe I wasn't clear. I need a Ground type attack on him because I wasn't planning on it for the others. And Dragon and Dark just cause it's stab. Specific moves don't matter otherwise, but they gotta be special. Forth move is open to suggestions.

Tho i want to just add that the Hydreigon i used for the Autumn Friendly had a moveset of
Dragon Pulse
Flamethrower
Focus Blast
Hyper Voice

yeah i know wierd moveset but it was Carita's & I EV trained it reall good and believe you me It did well agaisnt my competition. DP with a Dragon Gem for Dragon types, Flamethrower & focus blast for everthing else (trust me they all think you have a phisical attcker) and for the leftovers with 1-12 HP hyper voice always takes out 2 at a time.....
252 Satk/252 Speed/4 HP

Earth Power is the only special Ground move in exstence isn't it? I absolutely need a ground move that doesn't suck, the Dragon move can be any except Draco Meteor, and the same for the Dark move. As long as they're special I don't care about specifics.

I'll take any suggestions really as long as they fit this criteria.

By the way why does everybody recommend Focus Blast anyway?
