Re: Really Blizzard?
Some people are really good at pushing other buttons, sounds like the system is the problem here. Ive been on sites where people stay within the "rules" and still make you feel pretty crappy or annoyed. Then your reaction gets you in more trouble then they got into. The best thing to do is nothing, anything you say or do is just feeding into this person. Their goal is to upset you. Reacting like this and bringing someones mom into is pointless. The punishment should have been equal for both of you.

Re: Really Blizzard?
I agree with Shadow Tracker on this one, the punishment should have been equal to both parties. But if the botter is a legitimate botter, you should find some way of reporting them or find a friend that could report them.
I can understand Blizzard being uptight about language. But I can personally think of a million and one other things that are ten times worse. I myself are one of those d-bags that push buttons and work the system on other sites. Not here though, I like this place too much.
There's a giant grab bag of players on WOW and I'm almost 100% sure Blizzard doesn't want the public image of being a joint where angsty teens or college students that talk like drunk sailors hang out. It lowers the possibility of a younger audience and hurts sales in the long run. What probably really concerns Blizzard, is what's the best for business?
But I'm surprised you got reported so quickly.
...I hate bots...

Re: Really Blizzard?
Voices, to your earlier post:
Yes, the botter might not feel bad. Why? Because he/she is a troll. Yes, they might not be there to enjoy the game, but I do completely agree with the charge. The mai idea here? Report. Don't take matters into your own hands, you are most definetly not a hero or a mod on WoW.
Just. Report. Next. Time. No insults, no getting peeved. You've been trolled, and the only way to stop it?
Ignore it. Go on grinding or something. Or just, you know, shut off the game. Trust me, it's for the best. You don't like thier policies? Then sorry to have to say this, but you can't change them by ranting. It might be just because I'm overtired, but I'm getting a bit agitated also.
Because I seriously doubt the option to leave isn't there. Your past hacker? If you're worried about hacking, either change your password via email(I'm sure you can), or don't be angry when you lose your hours upon hours of game time. My computer got hacked, and I'm in the process of getting my games back on Steam. My 300 hour Terraria saves? Gone. What did I do? Reported who I knew it was and started the game up again. Got back on the metaphorical horse. If it's that big of deal, just leave.
Seriously, it's FIFTEEN bucks. that's not a lot last time I checked, and another thing...

Re: Really Blizzard?
I never said what I said wasn't wrong, I just said that the botter should've gotten a harsher punishment. Sheesh, Gain a brain already.

Re: Really Blizzard?
Who gives a ****? Seriously, I agree with Max, just report them and shut up.
If you would have just reported them and hadn't said crude things you wouldn't have been suspended/fined/whateverihatewowanyways. Blizzard has every right to do whatever they want to with their games when it comes to rules and moderation. Complain all you want, but you're nothing but annoying ant to them.

Re: Really Blizzard?
No one has said he shouldn't have gotten punishment (the OP even said that). What is strange is that he got a longer ban time than the botter. Botting is a far more serious matter than trash talking.

Re: Really Blizzard?
See if he'd kept his mouth shut it wouldn't have happened at all. Yeah it's weird that the bot got longer, but still he not only pointed out a bot, he used vulgar language, the moderation is just following their own standards. Being vulgar asshats > being a bot
Don't be stupid. Don't feed trolls.

Re: Really Blizzard?
Actually, botting is a much more serious offense. Not only is modifying a game illegal, but botting has been tied to funding Al Qaeda operations. It is much odder that the bot got a smaller ban time than the OP.

Re: Really Blizzard?
The point still stands. Mind your own business. Report and walk away. Best option.
