Re: GYM LEADER Applications
Gym revamp time...
I would like to change my gym to this, since WK has left the current gym we had and I have not found a new partner to replace him:
Gym Title: DDR: Dance Duel Revolution
Description of Gym Theme:
Pokémon that know two or more moves that involve ‘dance’ in their name are used by the Gym Leader.
6 Pokémon planned for Gym Theme:
Charizard, Feraligatr, Chatot, Weavile, Lilligant, Volcarona, Haxorus, Ludicolo
*Chatot and Weavile are the two Wild Cards
--BATTLE RULES--
Single/Double/Triple?
Double
How many Pokémon per side?
4
Are there Damage Caps or other Restrictions?
No OHKO Moves
What is the Gym Arena?
Dance Pad:
A rhythmic pulse flows through your body. Lights flash with the bat on the floor and everyone is in the mood to dance. The entire arena is a colourful floor of music and neon with a stellar, night club style roof to complete the entire scene. The roof can come away to reveal the night sky if necessary, and the whole arena is a massive, one hundred, by eighty, by fifty foot tall room with speakers humming bass lines and spectators viewing from lounge booths and bar counters behind an indestructible wall of specially made glass.
Pokémon who use any move with the word ‘dance’ in it will have the effect of that move possibly doubled. It is a 40% chance the effects will be doubled. If this is the case, the energy cost is the original energy cost of the move, with an additional 50% of that energy cost added onto it.
If effect is doubled:
Original energy cost + [original energy cost/2]
The following happens if the effects would be doubled for the following moves while used in the gym:
Swords Dance: +4 ATK
Dragon Dance: +2 ATK, +2 SPD
Rain Dance: Double duration of Rain Dance
Quiver Dance: +2 SP ATK, +2 SP DEF, +2 SPD
Teeter Dance: Those CNF by this move are 25% more likely to hurt self
Petal Dance: Damage x 1.5
Featherdance: -4 ATK to Target
Fiery Dance: +2 SP ATK [If boost is applied]
Lunar Dance: 25% chance of having 5% HP remaining rather than fainting.
What are, if any, the requirements to challenge your Gym?
No Restrictions
List of battles:
Click here for all of them.

Re: GYM LEADER Applications
Okay, so that is pretty much an awesome idea. However, I have a quip about Rain Dance. Any Pokemon that can learn TMs can use Rain Dance, so they would only have to know one additional dance move. As long as you don't count Rain Dance among the moves a Pokemon needs to know you'll get my approval.

Re: GYM LEADER Applications
Yes I'm reposting this. ><
I've searched and scoured and have the following:
Most of them do have moves that are two other Dance moves outside of Rain Dance:
Charizard, Feraligatr and Haxorus: Swords Dance and Dragon Dance
Volcarona: Fiery Dance, Quiver Dance
Lilligant: Swords Dance, Teeter Dance, Quiver Dance, Petal Dance [Her amn Sig move has 'dance' in it for freakin' sake ><]
I can swap out Tyranitar for Ludicolo. Also Sceptile can't learn Rain Dance and it can learn TM's. Just so you know. pX
Looking up all this stuff on the Veekun pages was not fun. ><

Re: GYM LEADER Applications
You could have just used veekun's cross reference search xP
Oh well. Now you know. Since I just got into DDR, I'm all for this.
Approved.

Re: GYM LEADER Applications
Dunno if this is still an issue, but I think if you only let Level-up Dance moves count as one of the two dance moves needed, then you'll have my vote.
For the record, what's your entire possible Gym Roster? You can post/PM this to me whenever you have time.

There is an issue with this, because there are few Pokemon that learn more than two dance moves AND learn one naturally that isn't Rain Dance. There are a select few, some of which are on my current roster already that do match this however: Volcarona, Lilligant, Haxorus.
A vast majority of bird Pokemon learn Featherdance by level up, but again, no other dance move aside from Rain Dance. Same with level up Dragon Dancer's aside from the Haxorus group.
Aside from Farfetch'd for Swords Dancer's by level up, who also gets Featherdance, again, the second move would have to be Rain Dance. This also follows for natural Dragon Dancers [aside from Haxorus] and Quiver Dancer's [unless you're Volcarona and Lilligant] don't fare too better either.
There are few natural Petal Dancers that get an additional dance move that isn't Rain Dance, however that would turn my roster into an entire grass type gym and I was looking for variety to reflect the kinds of dancing variety. I have one out of the two possible natural Teeter Dance users out there, that being Lilligant because she learns almost every dance move out there and puts Bellossom to shame.
As for my entire possible Gym Roster, are you looking for something that fits what you're mentioning or what my theme is?

Re: GYM LEADER Applications
For the record, while I think Jenn's concerns are somewhat legitimate, I believe Sabi does have enough approvals to go ahead without us.
And yes, I play DDR. I can only handle 4 or 5 step songs, but its a start.

Theme by two dance moves or more, not including Rain Dance and one must be learned by level up:
Volcarona
Lilligant
Venasaur
Bellossom/Vileplume
Haxorus
Farfetch'd
Crawdaunt
Theme two dance moves or more, not including Rain Dance:
Charizard
Feraligatr
Haxorus
Volcarona
Lilligant
Venasaur
Bellosom/Vileplume
Farfetch'd
Crawdaunt
Ludicolo
Tropius
There really isn't a lot to go on for this theme. It's very narrow. Including Rain Dance, there would be far too many to list.

Either way, you have enough approvals to go ahead at this point. ^.^;

Re: GYM LEADER Applications
Are you guys still going to be hunting for Gyms? Just curious, I don't have a theme in mind.
