Pokemon Blue Problems

I recently started up Blue again after finding it in a drawer, so I decided to start playing! I've had numerous glitchy/funny issues with it though.

When HP is low and the low HP music is running, it seems to mess with the game. Just a little while ago, my Pikachu's HP was low, and my Rival called out his Abra. The Abra came out making a Zubat cry. :S

The game is probably an original, for the late 90s. I was wondering if these problems are normal?

I started playing Blue over the summer and I didnt have any problems like that. Where has your cartage been stored?

Looks really old. Also looks like water damage too. It was in a drawer in the bathroom for some reason...

really you should look at the bottom. If the little copper strips on the bottom got wet that would explain the glitches.

I don't know much about this stuff, but maybe you could change the cartridge battery? That'd probably be a last resort though.
