Missed out on the 2006 Pokemon Video Game National Championship battles? Or maybe you just want to watch it again? Pokemon Elite 2000 was there to film it all and it's now available for viewing. Just head over to our Party of the Decade section, to page 5: Party of the Decade (Page 5)

You will find videos of the two championship battles there, and a complete battle log of each battle:

Be sure to check out the other pages, where I cover the entire Party of the Decade event and more!

Awesome.. pretty much just an oober-fest, but that's ok. Those were some intense battles. Good job on the recording, I can see why you liked Hogan's Body Slam comments!

Awww... wish I could have gone.
Yeah, those were some pretty awesome battles. Though there should have been a rule about using all of those ubers...

Oh, tell me about it!

It seemed like every one of these guys used Groundon, Kyogre, Snorlax, Rayquaza, Mewtwo and Ludicolo, and it felt like the same battle was being done again and again.

I think it would have been a lot cooler without the ubers. We'd see a lot more variety...

I think that ubers were to give advantages to give the players an edge, but way to many were used. I think one per person would have enough.

-.- I'm taking a small minor break from Pe2K, as well as chatting on AIM... I'll probably be back May 15th, though I may not be on till the 28th for some reason.
This doesn't mean I drop out of everything I'm doing though... =/

If they aren't banned and you wanted to win, wouldn't you use them too?

Yeah, I see your point, but this all adds up to the fact ubers should have been taken out to make way for strategy rather than pure brute force.

You can still have plenty of stratgey with ubers. Just look at the JAA tournement.

I was there, and I just re-watched the videos of the finals... Hogan was the best, he was going nuts over the Snorlaxes body slamming eachother.

"Wait a minute he used a body slam, brother- that's awesome!"

"There he goes with a body slam!!"

"He kept going with a body slam, that must be the best move in the game!"

It's like managing the Yankees. You have plenty of good players, but you still need a good coach with a good strategy to win. And it's fair, everyone can use whatever Pokemon they want. So let's see who's the best at using the best Pokemon available.

On the other hand, yes, seeing Kyogre and Mewtwo on every single screen does get boring. I wouldn't mind some kind of system that would limit the amount of "power" a team has. There's many ways to go about that, but I can understand why they have a tournament with no limits. Since this is a test of the best using the best available.

Snorlax can't learn Selfdestruct on it's own, but it can learn the move through the move tutor in Pokemon XD.
