New Pokemon Diamond/Pearl Screenshots: Pokemon Transfers!
-08/30/06-

New screenshots of Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl have surfaced in a Japanese gaming magazine (based on the images, it's apparently from Coro Coro). Some information about the trading system was revealed. Pokemon transfers to the Diamond/Pearl games will be limited to 6 Pokemon per day. A new status screen will display the date you obtained the Pokemon on your game. It seems that Pokemon you transfer to Diamond/Pearl needs to be re-captured using Park Balls at a park in the game. This should not be confused with the Safari Zone, which hasn't been confirmed with this latest news (the screenshots shows a Park Ball being used, not a Safari Ball).

Awsome. :D Now I'm happy because we can catch pikachu in it and what's with these park balls stuff. 0.o

this new games are making it so hard to get pokemon i think its going to take a while to complete the pokedex but i think its cool at least your not going to pass the game as quick as the other ones were.

I think this park re-capture thing is a really cool idea, at least this way it makes it a bit more challenging to "catch 'em all!".

this is great i finally know how they do it. although what about the legendary pokemon do you have to recapture them as well.

thats one sick pikachu sprite. Hopefully the other ones will be as good as that one.

I think this is a very cool idea :). For once, at the start of a new genration our old pokemon will not be doomed to die and collect dust like in the Blue/Red, G/S days of lore...Plus, catching them again is not so much work as it is sort of a way to say that we our still worthy of owning are pokemon as 'living' things, rather that just items in a PC we transfer like a peice of data meat :(.

Tbhe pokemon that you re-capture are they the only pokemon in that park or will there be a lot of annoying Oddish.

I just relized this is bad.REALLY bad.What if the pokemon is level 100 and you cant catch it. so it will be lost from the game than cause you cant trade it to the game you got it from.

The Pikachu in the screenshot looks both cool and weird. Cool because it's more curvy and weird because it's more curvy. It's hard to explain... :(

i saw the thing but if i want to trade cool pokemon from emerald
does it mean i have to recapture them in the park(in the game)
or can i recapture pokemon i have in diamond or pearl

that that thing is CONFUSING

you recapture the pokemon you trade over from your other game. It would seem it's going to be like a Safari-Zone deal.

Gotta say, that is THE rawest looking Pikachu sprite I have ever seen.

this is a very bad idea. first of all you can only transfer six a day , second you would have to recapture them even your legendaries that would be hard. i think this isnt good at all. it sucks.
