No, but I chose Trick becuase when Alakazam is sent out, I use Trick to swap items. Choice Band resricts the opponent the move it used.

Re: Alakazam Movesets
fire punch should always be on alakazam unless you want metagross walling you 99% of the time. Recover is arguably better than thunderpunch, since it doesn't hit anything important, and recover is useful when you trick the cb to something that can't damage you hard (blissey, for example)

Re: Alakazam Movesets
There's no point in recover if Alakazam faints in one hit.

Thanks for the tip, for my NetBattle, I'll change the nature to Timid. To in-game, maybe I'll switch it to Ice Punch or Calm Mind.

Re: Alakazam Movesets
Macho Brace also works well as a substitute for Choice Band. Some Pokemon love their speed, and this means almost certain death. =D

I thought Macho Brace makes experience points higher, though.

Re: Alakazam Movesets
Experience points don't count in NB, and your opponent's Pokemon in-game don't gain levels mid-battle.
Besides, I believe that Trick wears off post-battle. You'd need to bring it in on something slow/setting up, though, because Macho Brace makes Zam quite slow. Otherwise, be prepared for an oncoming attack.

Why do I need Zam slow?

I don't get ya. You said that Macho Brace slows Zam down. Now you say he will be fast. I don't get it.
